I should make a video about why the cars don't have solar panels, because I thought that would be the trick to unlimited mileage! One company has their car coated with them, the Aptera, but it's not out yet. And I bet your Corvette would rip out there!!

I'm first! 9:32 The ghost noise in reverse is because the car is quiet its like a backup noise. Although in drive if someone is in front of the car it is required to make a similar noise. 9:51 for people who own the car they have their profile, so mirror, wheel, seat, and even climate settings are saved and adjusted for before you get it. 18:37 FSD is double down. 22:38 Automatic headlights work for both night and rain, along with automatic wipers which people say is not very good. But most things are automatic. I defiantly agree that there should be buttons but everything is about the user profile. Just like how every website forces you to make an account to read an article or the simplest one time things. 30:12 Newer one's have handle heaters or something like that so the handle will thaw when you put the defroster on.

  • @CozyLivingMachine

I didn't know about the heated handles, that's a great idea. And I definitely had that experience with the wipers, it's not terribly accurate. That's probably the worst part of the experience, it's a little more difficult to set those. Just something to get used to, minor gripe.

When it's 110f some cooled handles would be nice 😂 Maybe I'm too old school, but I'm not sure why everyone wants buttons. Especially the ones like steering wheel adjustment or mirror adjustments. How often are those things getting moved around in these people's lives? Like you said, once you have your own, settings save and restore automatically. Full Self Driving (supervised) is not on the rentals. They do have Adaptive Cruise' and 'Auto Steer' which is close and activates ike you said, one down speed, 2 down speed and steering. It won't change lanes or navigate for you like FSD however. If equipped it must be activated for the driver and then it's one down for FSD.

@CozyLivingMachine 😂 cool you are easy going about the buttons, some people get all bent out of shape about them. I haven't missed a single one of them myself, the AC control is about all I use or need in any vehicle and it's either turn the temp up or down. I personally wish we didn't even have a gear selector or turn stalk like the X and S but I don't have to use them much anyhow with FSD it does all that automatically.

Also I though of a way for the bus to charge the battery. Get an inverter preferably a pure sine wave, but modified sine is a lot cheaper and could be ok for the 900 watt chargverter you have. 12v inverter connected to the bus 120v out to the chargverter. I would get a 1000 watt.

I found another way to give a good charge that might be a little less expensive, although that's also a great idea!! My big concern is just drilling more holes right now. We have some plans for a bigger battery system, and at that point it might make a lot more sense because right now we can't even touch our battery bank during the day!

Yes, is the answer; MANY people DO buy used EVs. This writer owns a 2019 Kia Niro BEV. You can buy a used Tesla for less than new, of course, BUT it will always be up to date in tech via OTA updates. For road trips, Tesla is king. For all other uses, ANY EV will work.

Yeah but on the mach e not everything is controlled by the screen you can open the glove box with your hand. We love our mach e and lightning I have 17000 miles on lightning and over 35000 on mach e and have not had any major problems on the lightning they had to replace one cell on the battery but only took 3 days at dealership. The lightning I use for work (maintenance truck) I have a cap on back and decked system in bed to carry all my tools and I drive it 6 days a week I plug it in every night I get 320 mile range per charge and my electric bill on that meter is 70 a month. I’m not saving the planet I just don’t want to buy gas or oil. We still have 3 gas vehicles and Mercedes class C. But I definitely love the drive of a electric vehicle.

I think you'll like the next few videos as well!! I think it's so early for electric vehicles still, and I expect they will get much better over time. Even just the simple things need to be worked out. 320 miles range for a truck is not bad! You can't find another truck that you're driving like that for only $70 a month.

Hybrids SEEM to be the answer, till you THINK. One, you are STILL paying for gas and repairs. Two, when the CVT system fails, then tow it home, set it on the lawn, stick some Gnomes in it and some flowers. You can buy a new car for the price of repairs

I purchased a Chevrolet Blazer EV 2 months ago and couldn’t be happier. Test drove a Tesla and really didn’t like it. I prefer having some traditional buttons. And if I prefer I can just speak commands to the Blazer. I get over 300 miles on a charge while running air conditioning non spot. I’m living in Las Vegas and the temp is 117 today. @@benjaminquinones1890 I run the A/C in the Blazer on its Eco setting with the temp set at 76 which has proven to b comfortable enough for me. I do try to only go out before noon when the temps are still only 100 or below and I don't drive the car hard and use one pedal driving with regen set to max. I stay off the freeways and have been averaging about 10 miles per kilowatt hour. But to be 100% honest the one time I was out in 117 degree heat and had to run multiple errands I did notice a faster draining of the battery than usual.

Now would I buy one to replace my ICE NO; maybe as a second vehicle - not to save the planet or any other political reason just to drive in town and to just go fast, yea maybe lol. Hey OP you may find this Puzzle odd; until you understand it. To begin, near all the newer EVs have voice command functions. The speed has ALWAYS been to take your eyes off the road- until the HUD systems came into being. And last, the physical/mental changes betwixt a phone and a passive screen. It sounds like OP is reciting some 'fact' from Chevon!

First off, I got a 🖤 response from one of your videos but when I click on it, I got no response. I was able to respond to that one but now it shows as "members only" which is weird. Did you change that one from public to members after? It's the one with the thumbnail was Emma standing up on the pedestal of a statue. No biggie just noticed that it changed. Anyway, in today's evolution of EV's I am still a hard pass on that EV or any brand. I appreciate all the qualities and technologies as I love that kind of stuff, but until they improve them in a lot of ways, especially battery technology, speed of recharging and other things you could come up with as well, it is nothing more than a very large and expensive golf cart. There is just NO way that EV's could be in the majority of what is on the road as infrastructure cannot support them. Even Elon said that we are not ready for that. I would admit that one guy at work bought one and he loved it, but it was only for short drives where there was no fear of milage on the drive, just to and from work and to the store. I just can't imagine buying this for one purpose so I will stick with my all-purpose vehicles. Maybe one day my mind would be changed if these EV's evolve into something greater, but it won't happen in my lifetime. Thanks for the ride!

@@CozyLivingMachine That IS the sad fact of the Nature of the current society. This writer is NOT the classic EV owner/driver--the ones who wear three masks when driving alone, put a mask on a labradoodle, and have Greta T for Sainthood stickers &tc. He is a VietNam veteran who voted for "AuH2O' and 'conservative ' apolitical and anti- neo hippie anything. BUT the drivers of 25 yr old diesel trucks with 03 ft tall tires on the thing, cannot comprehend that I am NOT of that tribe, and must be an 'infiltrator'. Sadly, the USA has not been this politically divided since circa 1840. Just wait till after the elections in Nov. Then things will truly get wild. Most espc. if the Dems/Leftist/Commies loose. The BLM et al will be back to work--and more.
