Great vid. It’s a pity, after spending £50k on a car, the customer has to check the car has been built correctly. You don’t need to do all these checks on a car half the price. A VW, Mazda, Peugeot, GM etc. Come on Ellon, get the Tesla staff trained, and make them responsible for the Pre Delivery Inspection. It has benefits, enhancing Teslas reputation, and giving feedback to the factories on recurring faults.

So thank you for the video, I was unable to find any downloadable or printable checklist. I’m not sure what’s going on there, but a lot of people said they couldn’t find the checklist either. Some said they found it, but it didn’t work, so I don’t know what’s going on there, but I wasn’t able to find it. I also noticed that you didn’t look at the seals, particularly around the doors, and so when I picked up my Model 3 back in 2018, I didn’t do much of an inspection, and so by the time I discovered a loose door seal underneath on the passenger side door, it was a year or so later and of course the car was out of warranty at that point. So make sure to check all door, and window seals, front trunk and rear trunk seals to make sure that they are tucked in properly, as well as the overhead pillars, because I had one come loose as it wasn’t properly secured, but all these problems was fixed by Tesla with no real issue, however, because by the time I discovered that seal on the right side of the door, it was well out of warranty and the guy wanted to charge me $140 just to put some glue on a seal. I said you got to be kidding me, I can do that myself, and that was the end of that conversation. So here’s the thing, your car is under warranty, and so you don’t have to panic because you took delivery and got home and discovered some issues that you did not see at the service center prior to accepting the delivery of the car, and so don’t let that ruin your delivery day experience with the folks at the service center. So barring any major issues that would be obvious to a duck, minor paint chips and scratches, shouldn’t become an issue where you are rejecting taking delivery of the vehicle, as these things can be easily documented as well as fixed, and so simply document what you have discovered and use the app and make an appointment to take your car into to the service center, as those things can be taken care of and Tesla is isn’t any different than any other manufacturer of products, particular one as complicated as a motor vehicle. So you’re going to experience some issues, but again don’t let that ruin your experience with your car. These things can be taken care of and barring some major issues, take delivery of the car, and realize that the car is under warranty, and that you can get these issues fixed, as Tesla isn’t any different than any other automobile, manufacturer when it comes to these issues, and all you need to do is use the app to make an appointment, and have these issues taken care of. Cheers 🥂
Thank you!

You would expect these things to be right from the factory on a base model Kia, let alone a 60k car. It's embarrassing that Tesla can't get this basic level of quality control done. I've bought low and high end cars and never needed to do anything like this.
i really want to upgrade to a tesla model 3 but they seem so delicate and. I would expect a mass production car to be delivered perfectly. i have never had to check a brand new car for imperfections before.

Very weird. I never checked my Porsche in dealership. Weirdest think Tesla always 60 mph on highway. Can that car go faster?
I had to drive 6 hours to get home from the Tesla dealer in NJ. When I got there to pick it up the dude moved the cone out of the way and said you’re good to go. He said “it’s self explanatory for the most part” It was the first time I had ever sat in a Tesla. I got in it and watched some KZread videos and drove back to Maine. Honestly I wouldn’t of had it any other way. Took me 1 stop on the way home to Maine. Congrats! Yes, you can still accept delivery if you find issues - as long as these are easy fixes and the car is drivable. I think the best approach is to make a list as you're inspecting the car and then let them know all at once when you're finished. They can then schedule a service appointment for you to get things done at a later date. They shouldn't give you a hard time! It's a big purchase, and you want to make sure you're getting your new ride in the best condition.

We gotta do all this ON delivery day? The sales rep told me a delivery driver will come with the car and they will take the trade in. Does that mean I have to spend 20 minutes or so inspecting the vehicle as he waits? Is anything that wasnt caught on delivery day still serviceable if I catch it after the fact or is accepting the delivery while not catching the defect finalized if wasnt flagged upon receiving? Im kinda nervous as my delivery is this week and this whole checklist thing seems very exclusive to tesla problems. Any response would be much appreciated!
@tesbros
2 жыл бұрын
If issues aren't caught on delivery day, it's definitely still able to be fixed whenever you do find them! You'll just need to contact your nearest Tesla service center. The reason for doing all this on delivery day is to make sure defects are flagged and in the system so you know for sure they will fix it for you for free and not blame you for any issues after you drive it off the lot.
@jcgraphics3d
Жыл бұрын
I would think the most important issues to report on delivery day would be things like scratches that you might cause yourself after taking delivery. You are not going to be the cause of panel alignment issues or non-working mirrors, etc.

Horrible wide black horseshoe shaped black WIDE seams ON THE SNOW WHITE HOOD!! Ugly unattractive as hell? I showed it to other car buyers whose car’s had smaller prettier seams and they EVEN started looking over their cars and finding panels in one side different than the other side and the ONLY Tesla 4 representatives were “KIDS” 26 and under WITHOUT any expertise taking care of such situations…zero PEOPLE SKILLS who DID NOT GIVE A SHIT about “quality control inspection failures”! In fact I was told, “”you don’t have to accept it but you will lose the $7500 discount if you don’t and ask us to order you another one and it won’t get her till March!”They said “every car MEASURED “WITHIN Tesla “specifications”! My understanding is it costs time and money to get rid of those gaps at the factory, which Elon and Tesla are not willing to pay for on a mass scale. So, when they get it half-right, or half-wrong rather, they only pay half the time and money in total. In other words, we are their unpaid engineers finding the gaps for them. TLDR We pay with our time and money, and Tesla doesn’t.
Tesla should do the checklist before delivering the car to the customer. Poor customer service, for the high price you pay. No dealership
