This sometimes works, but often the next time you use the washers it reccurs. It is just crazy that every other manufacturer has this nailed (at least to a 95% rate) but Tesla still haven't managed to find even a workable solution. All they need to do is hire an ex Toyota engineer to program the wiper sensor, pay them $500,000, then move on.
If this fixes my problem I will be thankful bro, makes sense, I will try it.
I am driving only 55 km every morning with my brand new Tesla Y. And the wipers do what they want: they want to be on. I do not use autopilot, heren in Finland they say they say that also cruise control allows the wipers to go on...
It's crap in winter with low sun, going nuts in sunny weather and bright lighted highways....sometimes when it rains it doesn't work in time or to slow. It's really making me very annoyed with this further very nice car and can't use autopilot on many days because of this would drive me mad. My previous cars worked perfect, even when my windshield was covered with dead flies.
Thank you, I’ll try it. Super super aggravating that Tesla does not just allow u the ability to turn them off while on autopilot or cruise control. Also, why the heck did they program it this way anyway? I think it’s a bug…and it’s a bug not on the windshield!!

I just cleaned around the camera, wish Elon luck 😂. I'm sure this won't solve it as dust and dirt are part of Terra - Elon Mukku (ask your Tamil employees 😂😂)
Terrible software updates recently. They introduced issue in a recent update for me. Wipers were on for an entire 8 hour trip and wouldn’t let me turn them off.
I really hate this problem on Tesla. I am now driving for 700 kms in this very moment and I have this fucking wipers activated for at least 200 kms. it’s so annoying

I've been dealing with this issue for 3 years now. It doesn't matter how clean I get the windshield. I've even removed the interior camera housing and super cleaned the glass there. I've had it in for service multiple times. At this point, I'm done being nice about it. Going to find the power feed and wire in a toggle to disable the wipers entirely unless needed >.< They make rainx for a reason, I've driven cars in the past without wipers installed just because I could. And these auto wipers are honestly dangerous. I've had days where it was clear as could be, but maybe had some road salt or something down by the wipers. Turn on cruise *WIPERS GO FULL BRRRRRRR* and now I can't see anything at 70 miles an hour...thanks Elon...tired of this car treating me like an idiot.
Bigger problem. How to fix auto wiper not turning on when they should? The Tesla needs dedicated manual wiper controls. Perhaps an added toggle on the steering wheel -- since Tesla is so averse to stalks. The push and scroll fix is not adequate.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video, but (apologies) this is not a "fix" this is hardly even a workaround! I can't keep stopping in the emergency lane every 5-10 minutes to clean the windscreen to prevent the wipers from going bonkers just because there are is some dirt on the windscreen. A fix would be to allow drivers to disable the faulty automation - instead Tesla insists on knowing everything better. They claim the wipers need to be on for "safety reasons" but IMO it is a safety hazard if I have to keep fighting this stupid auto-wipers…

I wish there was an alternative fix but unfortunately right now, there doesn't seem to be. Just to reconfirm, it's happening because of dirt/bugs around the camera, not the windscreen. I encountered the issue as shown in the video, cleaned around the camera with glass cleaner spray and didn't encounter the issue for another 2 months (when the car was particularly dirty and I hadn't cleaned it)

It is shame for tesla not be able to solve this issue with wiper. Block the wiper program and rewrite it. Please ask the programmer to solve it.

They can't figure out the right speed either. Even with a clean camera
I'm in Canada cleaning the camera worked for me, but snow is around the corner with wet road any moment 😅 (Elon Mokku we live on Terra and this shit won't work on Moon either 😂😂)

@@nerdynerd0 I know, to be fair it doesn’t often happen if you are cleaning the cameras/vehicle regularly. I usually clean it every 2/3 weeks and don’t get the issue any more

This is the stupidest nonsense. How u can trust a freaking auto pilot/automated everything if it can’t even deal with simple auto wiper. I have a 2023 model Y and still having the same issue.
Stupid to think one can fix it by cleaning the camera. It is a wild thing, immature system. They sell cars with the goal to drive people crazy. My first and last Tesla!
