Even his storyboards 7:54 , which are nothing to him but necessary work-tools, are charming little works of cartoon art on their own..

I think that idle and cleese are more than gilliam, but he still underrated python and one of my favorite python.

There are so many clever animators today but what I find missing sometimes is the story. Terry's genius is his sense of humour and use of odd.

What a fantastic video!! For someone who has been in the Animation industry working for Disney, I highly admire people like him who have paved the way for new techniques in animation. I was a huge Monty Python fan as well!

Terry Gilliam did not invent cutout-animation, but he certainly knew how to make use of it. His artistic style of course complemented silliness.

I really like animation especially traditional animation techniques like Stop Motion. And Cut out to me is up there as one of the great traditional way to do things. I wish I could do Cut Out Animation like this. Absolutely brilliant timeless classic Terry Gilliam animation are.

Never seen this style of animation work anywhere as good as it did in Monty Python, mostly because they could go in directions most shows couldn't lol. Now I need to find out if he went full on into computer animation.

I recommend watching Terry's film 'The imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus', which has a computer animated segment in it that's still very Python-esque. :)

If you haven’t, check out the animations of Yuri Norstein and Francheska Yarbusova, particularly for their short Hedgehog in the Fog. Plus, there’s a 13 episode show called Adventures of Captain Vrungel (often translated as Wrongel). They all pushed cut out animation to the absolute limit.

@@ItIsJustJudythe answer seems legit, I won't go deeper. But it looks like that at that time he was living in England for a couple of years only. So it doesn't take long to change your way of speaking. To me he sounds more British than American.
