Terry Edmonds casting 60 wraps overhead cast.

On a casting tuition thought I would give myself a little challenge.

Terry is the Aviator plus 2 or Trebuchet light the bigger casting rod in 13 ft? Was looking at aviator plus 3 but can't get 13ft blanks?

Done it loads mate nearly always 10lb mono 0.26 this could of been pro clear, 50lb braid leader I can’t remember what brand the video was done ages ago but sane as used in all casting competitions. My best lead is 4.5 ounce

Hi Terry. Just a question, how far would you be able to cast with 3.25 TC rod with a thin diameter line and a shock leader!! Thanks

Assuming that’s a 12 footer? Darrell peck can get a 3.25lb 12ft rod 130 yards with 15lb line (0.40mm). So given that Terry is a great caster he can probably get one with thin line and a leader 160 easy I’d say

@@banditfishing1558 160 yards is for sure realistic. I guess 170ish is also in the range. Even I casted 38 wraps with 0,35 mm mono, mono shockleader and 4 oz lead with my average technique. With thin braid, braided leader and good technique… this will fly… 😀

Thin line a braid leaders would go 200 mate, but I would advice using the thickest line to reach the spot your fishing you will land more if that makes sense. I much prefer stiffer 13ft rods as it can handle bigger leads to combat head winds and cross winds ✌️

So call me stupid but is a wrap not a standard length but the rods length?

What line are you using? I suppose this is only a casting setup and not really for practical fishing right?

No it’s used for my fishing 10lb mono and braided leader where allowed had fish over 200 yards on this set up 👍

@@TerryEdmondsUk thats crazy, would you in general recommend thin mono for long casts over thin braid?

  • @TerryEdmondsUk

@@theblobfish9614 personally I prefer mono all the time, distance thin braids float so hard to sink and environmentally can cause more issues. At range I prefer tapered mono lines really to be honest 👍

@@TerryEdmondsUk okay good to know because i am trying to step up my casting game as I have a trip in spring where i will be required to fish up to 150 metres and spod at that distance too so i spooled up with some braid and braided shock leader. Will try the mono too, for sure

@@theblobfish9614 150m is very big casting with rigs then of course the baiting up. If you can do that then you have definitely got some skill as it’s hard work. Good luck mate 🙏

@@TerryEdmondsUk I got 2 "role models" in carp casting, You and our very own Mihai Perianu. I only accesed 190m :) but i'm using Sportex rods, wich are bit semi parabolic. I've learned alot from you, especially how to be more accurate so thank you !

No equilibrium technique Not a good way at all to put your feet together and after you lost your energy trying to cast and to return at your normal position … In a place like a beach if you put your feet Together you will get a hole on the ground with water that can be dangerous if is big waves coming … Always your feet in the same position diameter of your shoulders with the left feet above the right in your case …. Just my opinion from Atlantic Ocean guy ….
