Last night I swore myself I would never watch it because of how shitty it always makes me feel. I’m a girl and nobody EVER talks about girls who are addicted too. However, I relapsed a little while ago today. I don’t feel as bad as I did yesterday but goddamn it I have dreams and I’m not going to relapse again.

I feel your pain. I was exposed to violent porn at a young age and I’m pretty sure it traumatized me. I was raised with a healthy view of sex and to see people doing the opposite was shattering. Hentai was the worst of all. So bizarre and grotesque. Yet, it’s all fake. The shadows can’t hurt you if you don’t let them. Healing IS possible, though some days will be difficult. I’ll say a prayer for you.

Make the decision to quit. Then make it again. Make it as many times as you have to. Every time you say no it gets easier to say no the next time, and every time you fail, think about why you failed, then make the decision to continue. If you relapse that does not erase all the time you spent away, even if at first it’s just a day or two at a time. All that time compounds and will make it easier and easier till you feel like you have control again.

i saw a show about porn addiction can cause brain damage, suicidal thoughts, damage the dopamine center in the brain, effect relationships with co workers, your children, your spouse, parents, siblings, neighbors, every relationship in your life. Also cause ADHD symptoms, brain fog, lethargy, insomnia, anger, guilt, shame, etc. etc. etc.

Amen. As a woman who was in a relationship with a porn addict, more than once, the crimes are in no way victimless. Police are not willing to respond and will even engage in slut shaming tactics against women, even if a woman has been raped and strangled and is experiencing sex crimes and stalking following etc. And if a woman is raped by a man with power and money, or is from somewhere outside of the community, she is going to be targeted and harassed for reporting, more likely than not. Thank you for articulating this so well.

I could never get into porn. Fore me it was because I was molested as a child repeatedly buy someone very close to me. They would watch porn as they were molesting me! So for me it's because I know how it feels to be raped! Yes, some women may consent to porn, some are also forced and raped! I would say even the ladies who consent the majority are probably under the influence. Also a good number of them were sexually abused as children.heck I'm a 45 year old man, I can't even have a relationship because when it's time to be intimate I feel as if I'm the abuser! Same my boyfriend for the entirety of the first year we are together lies and hides porn and when I finally found out idk it was devastating and I seen him as this person I didn't even know.. I think the worst of it was how I stated feeling about myself like " Wow he wants hoes and im not a hoe.." Or " Why does he want me when he can just jack off to slots all day.. They obviously do more than me even though I did everything in thr bedroom.." That shit was rough he actually did well for months and he relapsed last week and lied again and hid it now im pissed and he either stops or im out I can't keep dealing with him hurting me..
