Terry Anderson Interview by Pastor H.B. Charles, Jr.

Terry K. Anderson is the Senior Pastor of the Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, where he has served for the past twenty-four years.
I first heard Pastor Anderson preach many years ago. He led a revival at a church in Los Angeles. I was invited to attend, not knowing who the preacher was.
Pastor Anderson preached a sermon that night I will never forget. In fact, if I was in a jam, I could preach that sermon on the spot today! I have followed Pastor Anderson’s ministry since that night
Terry Anderson is a faithful preacher, a wise pastor, and a strong leader.
I recently had the opportunity to interview Pastor Anderson about his life and ministry. I trust you will find it encouraging. In our conversation, Anderson shares his testimony of a life-threatening sickness and God’s healing grace.
Enjoy!

Pastor H.B. Charles, Jr. and Pastor Terry Anderson, My name is Robert Chew and I'm from Alexandria, Louisiana, Terry Anderson you may not remember me but I met you at the National Baptist Convention USA.but what I want to thank you for what you said about hurting people that hurt me. i went thought some of those same things that you talked about. My wife had gotten ill and died and the church and Pastors hurt me so bad as well as Pastors who turned on me. Terry Anderson for that word because I realize that if I'm going to move forward I have to let it go and forgive those who hurt me. again that both of you and may God continue to bless the both of your ministry.

Great interview by pastor Charles..I've been waiting for an interview of pastor Anderson to get a glimpse of how he thinks, and especially as a young minister of the gospel it was very helpful..I've been watching pastor Anderson for about 5 years now ever since I saw him preach a revival down in Texas City and I've been hooked ever since! To God be the glory for pastor Anderson and may Lillygrove continue being a model church for generations to come..N Jesus name!

I too, have adopted Rev. Anderson as one of my spiritual fathers. I pastor a church here in Texas as well, under my husband and overseer, and we both never miss a sermon. Listening to Rev. Anderson's interview was like hearing someone tell my life story. I thought I was alone, in preferring my own company to anyone else's, liking to be around wise, older counselors, and being a silent extrovert, most of my life. My husband couldn't stop laughing. And he always compares our expository teaching and preaching styles. God bless you, Man of God. I continually keep you and the Lilly Grove Church Family, uplifted to the Throne of God! Preach on until God says well done.

You are a woman and you're pastoring a church? A woman has no authority in the church. For you to disregard what the bible says about how women are to conduct themselves in the church, that's rebellion. 1 Timothy 2:12 | But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

yes he is a great pastor but don't relocate solely for the sake of joining this church; the church would be a good place to go if it weren't for the people. be patient and Wait on the Lord, I said wait on the Lord for he shall renew your strength. Let the Lord guide you allow him to go before you and make crooked paths straight and remove a lot of those stoned faced and cold people out of your way. there have to be a shifting, shaving, removing and remodeling majority of those people are dying off so that you will walk in the vocation where with you were called. so that you may have a full experience with a call to joy. Glory be to God. study to show thy self approved that a workman need not be ashamed but learn how to rightly divide the word of truth. go when go say go. move when God say move not a Second Sooner. it's the small foxes that spoil the Vine.

  • @Chicagodaman

@@Palmetto-J I believe I can add some insight on what they said. The church is made up of so many people who may not be where God Almighty wants them to be in a spiritual place and they can be sometimes difficult and maybe not so nice. So I wouldn't tell anyone myself to Travel to another state just to join a church because of a Pastor. A Shepherd is a Man just like another man who may have faults or shortcomings that we dont know of. So I believe in my spirit that the person is saying something on those lines more so than a negative about Pastor Anderson. As many have said and I've heard it myself over the years, the church is a perfect place until the people come in the building because their are NO PERFECT PEOPLE AMONG US SO WHEN PEOPLE ENTER THE BUILDING THEN ALL THE PERFECTION HAS TO LEAVE OUT. I HOPE THAT MADE SENSE TO U BUT I'M SURE YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING. B BLESSED

What an interview, what comfort to hear how there were great mentors to inspire and help in those days to uplift and encourage younger preachers to cultivate their craft to motivate and guide them in staying with God and preach with clarity and with conviction God wants real leaders to teach, instruct, build people to reach their full potential not to stay under great preaching but learn to do your best for God and continue be about the Father’s business. I wish there was still pastors and teachers who have pastors heart and the integrity like Moses to train those who are next in line to continue the Lord’s work to bring the power of God to the world. So we are as the Bible says for learning, reproof, correction, and for instruction. The world needs growth and maturity. Help us Lord to go back to the Old Landmark and feel your anointing and be in your presence to where we can live and be what you want us to be.

My brother was in the hospital & I turned U on & he was stuck. He was a Pastor (deceased, COVID), a gr8 teacher & not a hooper, but, a gutter of the Word; every one understood; young & old & was converted. He loved U & I do, too. Keep Ur ears to God's mouth!

hello pastor Anderson I really enjoy listening to your preaching, but I also have a question and hope you can give me an answer. what do you think of prosperity preaching when it is the subject all the time.

I never heard of hooping until I moved to GA. I also heard it was a class? To me that is a mocking the word.

when you interview others ....#1 please DONT start off with yourSELF.!! ........... IT IS not ABOUT YOU ..... #2 DO NOT hold your interviewee (own your part) PAST half an hour that's NOT good etiquette ... #3 just ask SIX hard questions (let them know ahead its 6 hard questions however not the content of the questions) and LET THEM take it to the limit of how long they want to be impactful on those questions .... and leave it like that !! ...you most likely can be sure that they wud LOVE to be invited back THATS both your interviewee ANND your audience ...and you wont be avoided (by both sides) at all cost .............

I deleted my comments from 9 years ago because Anderson has a side of him that’s very rude and unattractive!
