The goal of math is to study logical structure. If it can be explained logically, math will find an explanation. Why should we skimp out on logical explanation simply because we don't believe one particular case to be immediately practical? We will have holes in our fundamental knowledge if we cherry pick the mathematical problems we deem to be the most immediately practical. It exists in the structure of math, and math doesn't advertise itself as being practical (your teachers lied). So if people would just fuck off with their snide remarks because they failed trigonometry in high school, that would be great.

Math is important to learn for countless reasons but here is one. If you state it simply, Science is the basis of everything. Any single thing that happens around us can be explained using science (or it is something that scientists have not learned how to explain). Regardless, Biology and Chemistry and Physics is happening all around us. What is chemistry? It is applied physics. The physics and the ways the atoms move and work and react is all applied from the basic concepts of physics. What is physics? Applied calculus. The measurements and equations and formulas all stem back to calculus, or lower level math classes with more simple cases. Even higher level math classes. Regardless, what is Calculus? Calculus is strictly just applied Geometry. But then even deeper, what is Geometry? Geometry is really just applied algebra, applying it to shapes and angles and created postulates and theorems dependent on said observations of how the numbers and shapes interact with each other. What is algebra? Algebra is just how you apply basic arithmetic. Little stuff like 2+2, multiplication, anything of the sort. Very basic math. However, this very basic math leads to a better understanding of each level above it. This can lead to every single branch of Science that we know of, and therefore, you can say that every single thing that happens around us and as an effect of us, can be explained with numbers. Basic arithmetic. So there is no reason Math should be considered pointless, because math is the reason we are able to live and function as we do, and it is the reason scientists are able to prove things and create things that change our world and way of life forever. Math is the key to the future, some of us just have a hard time locating the door.

The problem with the three-pass protocol (as described in the video) is that eve (who is in the middle) could pretend that she is bob (intended receiver) and actually never deliver the box to him. instead she could apply her own lock and send it back to alice (original sender). once alice removes her lock, eve could obtain the content and bob would never receive anything. (this is called man in the middle attack)

Public-key cryptography (which I think Tao mentioned, but did not explain) along with Public key certificates can pretty much solve this, and is how it is done a lot of the time in reality. It does however require a trusted third party, the Certificate Authority (CA). If you are interested in this, here are some good search words: Public-key cryptography, Public key certificate / Digital certificate, Certificate authority, Cryptographic hash function.

By this definition, if an integer is made up of primes like atoms make chemistry, then it should be easy to understand that atoms are quantum integers/integration, of one primary connection. Hardy's quotation has a general application, everyone should suspend belief and only accept provable reality, in the style of a Mathematical calculation of probability. Interference, from the primary - infinite connection of QM-Time generates phase-locked states of prime quantization conglomeration, axial-tangential orthogonality transverse division, by temporal superposition-singularity. It's Quantum duality-multiplicity, self-defining existence, so the principle of "interference" in-form-ation patterning by irrational e-Pi-i quantization, is the resolution of the real rational integers in a Quantum Field quality of connection, a wave-package in modules of primes and cofactors. Twin Primes result where log base two is resolved, it's 1-i, the Prime connection-reflection, and the same applies for other integer bases.., a non-random process of connected temporal/time duration existence.
