For the 1x1 problem, which I don't think is much of a problem if you approach it based on the fundamentals of multiplication. I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but I would say multiplication is the number of times the addition operation is meant to be carried out on a number based on the multiplier. In other words, a x b means add 'a' , 'b' number of times. For example: 2 x 3 = Add 2, 3 times = 2+2+2 = 6 4 x 2 = Add 4, 2 times = 4+4 = 8 But when it comes to the multiplier of 1, there is practically no addition operation carried out, because you are calling the number once, whereas addition requires at least two numbers to operate upon. Hence you have that number added to nothing, and that simply returns the number. The main point however is that the addition operator requires at least two non-zero numbers to effectively operate. For instance, in human biology, a baby only begins to form when there is a union between a sperm and an egg from a woman. However, the required "union" to begin forming a baby isn't possible with the absence of either element, because the "union" requires the presence of both elements last I checked. In a similar vain the mathematical operator of addition needs at least two numbers in between which it can operate. Hence, multiplication by 1 only presents one number before the addition operator and nothing on the other end. Hence nothing added to the first number returns that number unchanged. It's quite a crazy thing to try to explain, but not so much so as to ruin the foundations and principles of mathematics in my opinion. 《Edit》I think a helpful way of viewing the multiplier is to see it as a count of the number of times a number or an object is operated upon. For instance: 2x3 = sum(2, 2, 2) = 6, conversely 3x2 = sum(3, 3) = 6, and similarly 2x1 = sum(2) = 2, conversely 1x2 = sum(1, 1) = 2, hence 1x1 = sum(1) = 1 Look closely at the last three and decide if mathematically speaking 1x1=2. I personally don't see the possibility. furthermore, when dealing with objects: bx3 = sum(b, b, b) = 3b bx2 = sum(b, b) = 2b bx1 = sum(b) = 1b, or b for short. I hope I haven't complicated it with the last part, I just thought it might help illustrate it further. 《Edit 2》 On account of the interactions with comments I've gotten to learn a bit more and attempted to understand the position of those who agree with 1x1=1+1=2. I've also seen a few comments that attempt to use my illustration as justification for the proposition of 1x1=2, so I feel the need to make this edit while leaving the original comment unchanged in all fairness to replies already made. Some have said that my logic of: 2x3=Add 2, 3 times=2+2+2=6 should translate as well to 1x1=Add 1, 1 time=1+1=2 as Terrence would suggest. I tried to clarify that in the original comment, and as well in the first edit, but let me give it one more go. I hope I phrase my thoughts better this time. I think part of the confusion, especially when you multiply two of the same number is to assume that the multiplier is part of the additive process. In actuality it is only instructive about the count of the number being multiplied. So 2x3=2+2+2, if you count the number of 2s on the right side of the equation you count 3. But 3 in itself is not being added, meaning 2x3 is not 2+3+3. Similarly 3x4=3+3+3+3, and we count 3, 4 times on the right hand side. If we switch it up 4x3=4+4+4, we count 4, 3 times. Where I think the confusion may arise is when the numbers are the same, one may mistakenly think that the multiplier is offering more than the function of a count and think it is part of the addition. So 2x2=2+2, but keep in mind that the second 2 is just telling us the count. And similarly 4x4=4+4+4+4, the second 4 is just the count, even though coincidentally 4 is also the number being multiplied. Hence, 1x1=1, because the instruction is to return one INSTANCE of the first number, which is 1. Hence it doesn't follow for 1x1=1+1, because this returns two instances of 1, which is otherwise expressed as 1x2. If it is still confusing for you, then try the following according to my logic, and then afterwards attempt it with Terrence's logic: By my logic- 4x1=4 (here count/instance/multiplier is 1) 1x4=1+1+1+1 (here count/instance/multiplier is 4) By Terrence's logic since 1x1=1+1, hence it seems he suggests 4x1=4+1 I maintain that the laws of math and physics may be based on approximations and assumptions, but they are sufficiently adequate to refute the two mathematical arguments that Terrence highlights in his talks. If he seeks to uproot a system, then it means the alternative must surpass the first in logic, application and whatever areas that were found lacking. As for the other things, I'm no expert in them, and I think there may be some gems worth exploring. But as hopeful as I may be that something new and exciting be discovered, I maintain a healthy mix of curiosity and skepticism. Thanks

What Terrance might be trying to highlight, which you might have missed is the significance of the number 1. This is unlike other numbers in out universe. The significance of the number 0 and number 1. If 2*2 give 4, and everything times and added by itself give a surplus, why doesn't the number 1 leads to a surplus? Adding the egg + sperm is taking the argument to another direction. The key might be that humanity have not yet understood the significance of the number 1 besides the fact that we can it a prime number.

That energy that is within up which is why we are more charged when we place our bare feet on the earth it channels through known as “Grounding” whereas we wear rubber soles on our feet to block out the connection. We are conductors of electricity & the earth contains endless power . It is said that if on the right frequency we have the ability to heal ourselves & fix parts of us that are broken. Whereas Dr.’s & pharmaceutical companies run hand & hand when it comes to causing addiction, disease, & dulls our senses. Money & Power! Which is why if something that can better you & your health is not acknowledged & approved by the FDA then insurance WILL NOT cover it. And his vision also changed, in which he saw every object in life made up of FRACTALS (curves like Terrence says here). You can probably Google it and I’m sure the story will come up. The guy was interviewed lots of times. He had to go to back to University in order to begin understanding his new genius, because he didn’t have the formal knowledge and language to explain what he could see visually and calculate in his head. Fascinating story! And his description of what everything in the Universe is made of, matches what Terrence is saying from what I can tell.

When I see individuals like Terrence Howard boldly sharing their discoveries with the public, it fills me with joy. Their openness fosters the creation of new knowledge to be tested. Yet, amidst their courage, some in the comment section, armed with degrees in science or engineering, claim authority over all knowledge with dismissive remarks like 'a little knowledge is dangerous.' Fine, let it be dangerous. But where is the depth of their knowledge? Where are their contributions to science documented? In this era, even those lacking true understanding can graduate with honors, only to assume roles of authority in the field. I urge them: if science truly matters to you, go beyond mere words and criticism. Get to work, document your findings, and strive to stand alongside the brave souls sharing their discoveries with the world. Until then, your knowledge remains as buried as a rock underground. Educated individuals often harbor doubt and fear, while the seemingly lesser possess courage, confidence, and resilience.

The identity property makes total sense. Interestingly 1 is THE ONLY whole number that is neither prime nor composite. 1 can not be factored. One is so important. There can only be one. You can not make a copy of 1 multiplied by itself. Multiplying any number by one just copies itself. It’s why 1x7 = 7. So it makes logical sense why 1x1=1 or 1^1000 = 1 you’re just attempting to copy one 1000 times.

Unless today's education system is bent, Mr Howard is not on to anything.1st, x³ does NOT = 2x. It = x times x times x where x is any number. So it's like saying a number multiplied by itself 3 times. Ex: 3 x 3 x 3= 27. THIS is 3³. Similarly 2³=2 times 2 times 2= 2x2x2=8. IF the current educational system is teaching otherwise, then there are ignorant leaders in the system or the books have a misprint. In either case Mr Howard is incorrect at this time. So for those who are not mathematically inclined I hope for your sake the books are a misprint. From someone with a math and computer background.

The easiest way to explain the squareroot of 2 conundrum he proposes is instead of using squareroot of 2 specifically, we use squareroot of x. This can then be written as x^1/2. For the first example, he calls for the result to be raised to the third power, so the simplification of this is x^(3/2). As for the second example, he calls for it to be multiplied by the number itself before it was square root. So for example his case would be 2*(2^(1/2)). In x terms, this can be simplified as him saying x(x^(1/2)). In order to simplify this further, you need the denominator to have the same number before adding them up, so this becomes (x^2/2)(x^(1/2)) which then simply becomes x^(3/2). It's the same result as the first example. His fallacy is what he chooses to represent as x. X was simply the number before he started the squareroot businesses. Because of this, the number 2 isn't anything special, the number 2 is suppose to be his x in this example, the reason why it doesn't work for other numbers is because for other numbers to work, you simply have to use other numbers. If I had taken squareroot of 3, then it would be 3 as the coefficient. You can in fact test this. x^(3/2) is the first example, and for the second example, just try x*(sqaureroot of x). The logical fallacy is his bad assignment on the unknown variable x that led to his second example being wrong and being faulty believing 2 is a static coefficient when in reality, it's x*(squareroot of x). So for example 5^(3/2)=11.1803398875 and 5*(squareroot of 5)=11.1803398875. Try plugging this new equation with any number you can think of and it will hold true. There is nothing wrong with the Math, Terrence just has his logic wrong. The reason why he gets away with what he says is because he says it to people who aren't Mathematicians and brings it up in a public space for you to just tap away into a calculator without putting real thought into the logistics behind his fallacy. He brings it up in a public space where you have to listen to him and take his word at face value instead of testing and figuring it out yourself whether he is right or wrong. Hence, stop listening to celebrities talking out their ass. If a real Mathematician ever believes our foundation is wrong, they would definitely let you know lol As a side note, the guy seems like a con artist that's also a celebrity. He can lie about what he says but he says it with the belief that he's talking the truth that people can mistaken him as a genius. He seems to have lied about his education background several times and tried to scam Uganda at one point as well. Yes, I do mean the WHOLE country of Uganda, just search it up.

The behavior of the system with some given initial condition x*0*is governed by the recurrence relation x*n+1*=f(x*n*). A classic example of this is the logistic map." ? In other words it probably does not make much sense to try and find the most "advanced" area of mathmatics as most fields are advancing in time and 'parallel'. This is really quite simple folks. When you have a multiplication problem, draw it out as a grid. You have your starting number on one axis, and the multiplier on the other axis. Now count how many squares you end up with, that is your answer. This is why the dimensions of a room are described as “square feet“. If you have a room that is 2 linear feet x 2 linear feet, make this into a grid and what do you get? 4 square feet. Now what if the room is 1‘ x 1‘? Look how many squares you have, you have “one square foot“. No, it is not intuitive, which means that your intuition should be questioned and there is learning required. What kind of an argument are you going to make that your intuition must be always correct, without instruction?

There are two major flaws in his logic… x^3 = 2x = x+x This might seem weird, but this only holds for sqrt(2) So x^3 = x*x*x Let’s put x = sqrt(2): sqrt(2) * sqrt(2) * sqrt(2) = (sqrt(2)*(sqrt(2)) * sqrt(2) = 2 * sqrt (2) Which is the same as 2x and x+x, with x = sqrt(2) The reason x^3 = 2x in this case, is because the ‘2’ we see in ‘2x’ is the square of sqrt(2). The second flaw 4/2 has inverse operation 2*2 (correct), yet saying that concludes the inverse operation is 2/1 is 1*1 is false. The reason the inverse operation of 4/2 is 2*2 is because 4/2 = 2, so to find the inverse operation we multiply the result (2) and the number we divide by (2) and this equals the number we diveded (4): 2*2 = 4 Now lets do the same for 2/1. 2/1 = 2, we want to multiply the result (2) with the number we divided by (1), giving us the number we diveded (2) this gives us: 1*2 = 2, which is the correct inverse operation of 2/1 I think it would be very cool if we could disprove the math we use, but there are no fallacies in the equations he shows. There are only misunderstandings by Terrence Howard

Here's a very simple way to look at this "issue" with the square root of 2. 1.41421... just happens to be the exact ratio where if you multiply any value by that ratio twice, you get double your starting number. This can be seen by the fact that the square root of 2 multiplied by itself (or squared) is 2. So if your starting number is 20, then 20 x (1.41421...) x (1.41421...) = 40 If your starting number is 2, then 2 x (1.41421...) x (1.41421...) = 4 If your starting number is (1.41421...), then (1.41421...) x (1.41421...) x (1.41421...) is (2.82842...), and you might notice, we just multiplied the same number by itself, 3 times, ie, we cubed it. There's no lie here, no error. When you multiply any value by (1.41421...) you are increasing it by 41.421... % If you increase a number by 41.421...% twice, you are increasing the first increased value by that amount in the second, so the total becomes exactly double the original value.

Yeah 1x1 is 1 happening once. It's 1, one time. So it's always 1. 1x0 is 1 happening zero times. So there was never a one, it was hypothetical and that's where he is flawed in his theory here, he's assuming 1x1 means you are taking two 1s and multiplying them. You're not. The numbers are representations, not real. Like the girl in the talk said as soon as you do the math with a physical object like a laptop, one laptop, times one, is itself. It's one laptop, appearing once. One laptop plus another laptop gives you a 2nd laptop, it's one laptop, appearing twice, or two times, becoming two laptops.. 1 PLUS 1 is two. But one TIMES 1, IS Never more than 1. It's the exact number your multiplying, represented one time. That's all it means.

@@kevinlee8732yes, but I see both points although he is getting very literal with the wording. However he's made other good points and discoveries. Things just go back to the origins of things. For instance, why are there 10 digits? 9 if you don't want to count 0 but why not 7 or 17 individual digits for example, although I know why but what I'm trying to say is that he's going back trying to make sure the foundations are correct. I've often wondered about if say, alien math would be the same as our math you know? Have we missed something? If so, how? Where did it evolve from? It is crazy to think about if there is a much more advanced species or civilization in the universe, would they in fact use the same math as us? Or is there something that's just gone over our heads, like how many early civilizations didn't use "0" in their math. Which is crazy to think of now but is there another "0" that we simply haven't realized yet? So it's a good thing to question and re explore the possibility that our foundations could be flawed. Because there are some flaws with our system. and like, why they can't figure out the right equations to explain all of physics. I find it suspect that there seems to be two separate rules to physics because it doesn't scale down correctly. This is another example of why our math may be flawed. I don't like the answer of "because it just is[different]" so I think he's on the right path.

The square root of 2 can be simplified to 1.41 to make this easier to read. 1.41 cubed can be written as 1.41 x 1.41 x 1.41 We can simplify this because 1.41 is the square root of two, meaning 1.41 x 1.41 = 2 so 1.41 x 1.41 x 1.41 can also be written as 1.41 x 2. 1.41 x 1.41 x 1.41 = 1.41 x 2 The square root of 2 cubed and the square root of 2 multiplied by 2 are the same, not because of some maths breaking enigma that some "genius" came up with who says that it means 1x1=2, but because of simple maths and how numbers work. Also 4/2 = 2 therefore 2/1 = 1 is such a childish way of looking at maths. Take it in the other direction to see if it works, 8/4 = 4, oh wait, not it doesn't. Because you cannot just half or double all of the numbers in an equation and have it make sense. 3 x 5 = 15, but 6 x 10 does not equal 30. 4 x 4 = 16, but 2 x 2 does not equal 8. Because you cannot simply double or half all of the numbers and have it make sense. This is one of the most frustrating things I have witnessed recently and I hope people go and seek actual education or actually think for themselves instead of listening to this video and taking your word as gospel. This is in your face misinformation, for what reason?

Exactly what I was thinking, everything else makes sense. The equation 2x=x^3 has real world solutions, which are 0, -1.41 & 1.41. You could also do the same with the square root of 5, 7 or any number for that matter. It's food for thought but at the end of the day the square root conventions do remain the same, this is what I've concluded atleast. Infact, you could do the same for the cube root of 5. 5x=x^4, where x=cube_root(5). It's something like the nth root of a certain number y = x and x raised to the power (n+1) is : where n=root number, y=number whose root is taken, x= nth root of y. I would've loved to believe something new in mathematics but logic and intuition still deem these humanly correct. It is human made convention but from our level, it does explain a lot, for me atleast.

The part where he used 2x2=4 for comparison is a different thing since 2 is the square root of 4. 3x3=9, 4x4=16 etc all make sense because when you multiply a number with itself, you get its square. Following this pattern, 1x1=2 would mean 1 is the square root of 2? Sorry for the rant, feel free to correct me or share more insights.

Terence is talking about how everything in the universe, at its most basic level, boils down to motions and conditions, specifically those involving electricity and magnetism. Electricity and Magnetism as Motion: Electricity is described as a centripetal force, meaning it moves toward the center. This kind of motion can be likened to things moving inward or contracting.Magnetism, on the other hand, is a centrifugal motion, meaning it moves away from the center, akin to expansion or spreading out. Matter and Elements: Everything physical (matter) is essentially these motions of electricity and magnetism. These motions aren't just random but follow specific patterns and cycles-what Terence calls "periodic pressure conditions. "An element (like hydrogen, carbon, etc.) is not a static thing; it’s a specific set of pressure conditions that can change under different circumstances. This implies that by changing these conditions, one element can transform into another. For example, carbon under intense pressure becomes diamond. Perception of Elements: Our human perception is quite limited; we only see a tiny fraction of what's actually out there. For instance, hydrogen is the first element we can perceive, but there are 21 elements before it that we don't see.Elements have predictable behaviors and relationships that can sometimes seem to defy basic logic, such as the placement of hydrogen in the periodic table not following the expected pattern of having three elements before and after it. Universal Cycles and States: Everything is continuously alive in various states, driven by these fundamental motions. The concept of "death" as we know it doesn’t really apply universally; it’s more about different states of being. He also emphasizes the continuous cycle of existence, much like breathing where there’s an inhale and exhale, symbolizing the cycles of matter and energy throughout the universe. Behavior of Light: Light doesn't travel but instead reproduces through a cycle of life stages in what he describes as octaves, which could be understood as waves or frequencies of light. In simple terms, Terence views the universe as a complex but predictable dance of pressures and motions, where everything from the smallest element to light itself participates in continuous, cyclical patterns of existence. This view challenges traditional notions about the static nature of elements and the linear travel of light, proposing a more dynamic and interconnected universal behavior.

The line from the movie Lucy with Scarlet Johanson towards the end perfectly captures why we use the "identity property" in some cases, but in others, it needs to "disappear ".. that would be because in using the "identity property" (1), we what We (as a race) are essentially doing is attempting to take the an object in our observable Universe and trying to, one could say "label it". Due to our known universe being an infinitely♾️ expanding one, we (as a race) need a way to conceptualize its infinite glory. One way our race conceptualizes the Universes infinite glory is through what some would call "The Laws of Physics." Which kinda😂 states an/(1) object in motion stays in motion until met by an(1) equal or opposite force. And when and an/1 object moves in this universe, from down to a molecule up to a skyscraper it's creates... say it with me now, "FRICTION" and where's there's friction there's ENERGY. And right here is where we run right back into the issue with I wouldn't say the method of "identity property " but more so the "infinite" hunger of the human mind, some would call Tarrence Howard crazy for attempting to grasp brake through this 3rd dimension while navigating on the same plain ( i.e it's physically impossible to picture or veiw an/1 object for all sides like looking at a baseball.) One could infer whats on the the of said baseball be we are unable to actually see it, just imagine what that would be like. Some of us are sooooooo in tune with ourselves we can feel something calling, reaching, out, yearning to be noticed. We are part of something more and are connected through something deeper than blood, and this man knows it.

What a lot of people misunderstand about multiplication (either when they were a child or still, as adults, in a whole lot of the comments here) is the question that multiplication is answering. Because of its similarity to the way we use the word "multiply" outside of math -- like, "to make more" -- people think of mathematical multiplying like "cloning." They think "I have 1 apple and I clone it 1 time, now I have 2 apples." But, really, the question multiplication is answering is "How many instances of apple do you have right now?" If you're holding 1 apple, the answer to that question is 1. You have 1 apple, one time. 1x1. If you have 2 apples, you have 1 apple two times. 1x2. Etc. Terrence and the other folks arguing that 1x1=2 are misunderstanding the definition of the word "multiply" and are confusing it with a non-math phrase like "be fruitful and multiply." That's why they keep treating 1x1 as if it's saying 1+1. It's not.

Look, I don't mean this offensively, God bless, but if you were lost in math class, don't look at this con artist throwing out super complicated "math" (buzzwords) for answers. Instead of complicating it, like he did to appeal to an audience that is more suceptable to people who sound informed in math, I will try and make the math simple. If you have 1 egg in every box you have, and you have 1 box, how many eggs do you have? One. Now, if you have 2 eggs in every box you have, and you have 2 boxes, how many eggs do you have? Four. He is trying to confuse multiplication with addition in a way, making you think 1 egg times 1 egg, which is actually just one egg plus one egg, not multiplication. For starters, debunk his claim where he said 4/2 equals 2 and the inverse is 2 times 2 equals four. That is correct, but he tried to use that to make the claim that if that is true, than 2/1 has the inverse 1 times 1 equals 2. He left out a very important fact, 2/1 equals 2. So, therefore, the true inverse of 2/1 is 1x2 equals 2. This is all silly stuff he's saying to sound relevant, don't buy into it. Listen to God, not man. The devil sends people to manipulate your mind into believing things that aren't true. I don't know why he's attacking math, but everything regarding Terrance should be viewed with HEAVY skepticism.

If you have 1 apple and add zero to it how many remains? It remains your 1 apple always - THE NATURE have no zeros. IT doesn't exist - except in fake reality. That's why they explain everything in mathematical equations - its all BS. Also the periodic table of elements u seen here is false. The real one was hidden away from us 100 y ago

Yeah, when you multiply your income you're making more money, but it's not always the case... He has some valid points, but the problem is that when someone is saying something, which can be a very strong truth, but it's basing himself in weak and wrong claims, it looses credibility... I do believe everything in math is bullshit, and don't give me that shit about "thanks to math you're writing this comment in a computer over the internet", because then you're implying that humanity has got necessarily better, which I disagree. The whole nature goes by perfectly without knowing nor applying all those math and physics laws. An eagle doesn't need Newton's discovery of gravity to know how to fly and defy it, a duck never went "eureka" when he simply sits and floats in the lake, he doesn't care his body causes an upforce that is equal to the volume of liquid his body displaced... All those "universal laws" were simply ways we have to explain what doesn't need to be explained for it to exist. It's simply because our ego and limited mind can't simply enjoy the ride on this planet without having to measure and explain every frigging thing. But of course, once you invent all those measuring and this silly game of playing with numbers, of course everything turns to be "science, which is based on facts that were empirically proven". Of course you can prove it! You're using the very tools you invented to prove it! Why wouldn't a hawk try to pray on a goat? Because he won't be able to lift it, too big, too heavy. how does they know that? They don't need scales and weights calculations, they just know, because it's programmed inside their DNA after millions of years of evolution. So, who needs math? Only we do, just because we can't simply live without explaining every thing.

Something is odd about Terrance's argument about the 'two separate operations' in regards to sqrt(2)*2 vs sqrt(2)^3 Because sqrt(2)^3 is the same as sqrt(2)*(sqrt(2)^2) and (sqrt(2)^2 would just be 2)... So they aren't different operations, really... it's just a coincidence that it happened that way. His equation comparison would have been more fair if it was (x^0.5)^3 = x*(x^0.5) Still, its interesting to see that the individual is trying to think differently about the current fundamentals of Math and Science to see if we can reach a different conclusion about things. I'm not very learned when it comes to Chemicals or Geometrics, so that part of the video stood out to me.

Gonna have to look into it more but I don't know how much I agree with this multiplication part with the number 1. Why? Because what multiplication practically is telling us is how many times we have a certain number. That being, 5x4 would mean that we have the number 4 a total of 5 times. Hence it adds up to 20. If we say 1x4, we have the number 4 a total of 1 time, once, as we have just 1 set of 4, thus it is 4. Its simple logic and the whole idea of math is to be applied to real world as well. How many groups of something do we have? That is what multiplication is. Lets go to ancient Greece, where a lot of Math evidently was born and see what is what in actual application to real practical tangible samples: A Spartan lochos consisted of 640 men, composed of 4 pentekostyes of 160 men, and the pentekostyes in turn being composed of 4 enomotiai of about 40 men each. How much is 1 enomotiai? Its 40 men. If someone asked you, how big is an enomotiai? You would answer, 40 men. 1 x 40, is 40. If someone asked you, how many men are in 3 enomotiai, you would say, 3x40, thus 120. 4 would be 160. And thus a lochos of 4 x 160 would be 640 men. If now you say how many men in 1 lochos, its 640 men. The math for this is 1x640 = 640 If now you say how many men in 2 lochoi, its 1280. The math for this is 2x1280. The more I think of it the more flawed I am thinking this whole approach is of Terrance treating multiplication as something other than just "how many groups of something there is" which is the core basis of what multiplication is. As a term, sure multiplication means that we multiply something. But in reality what it practically is, and mathematically too I would say, its how many times we have something of something. Multiply 3x12 means you have the number 12 3 times, thus 36. Multiply 1x12 means you have the number 12 once, thus its 12. I will look into it however, but from a first glance, his entire concept is totally flawed. I am hoping there is more to this and what he actually means as I do not want to disregard the latter part of his theory without looking at it properly just from disagreeing with that first part.
