    - NFL Hall of Fame Criteria: Minimum of five years' retirement and an approval rating of 80% (or higher) from the selection committee - Career Stats: 15,934 receiving yards; 1,078 receptions; 153 receiving touchdowns - Career Accomplishments: 6x Pro Bowl; 5x First Team All-Pro; 3x Receiving Touchdown Leader As a Giants fan I can't believe I'm about to say this: While Terrell Owens isn't the most liked athlete in NFL history, his resume speaks for itself and he should be in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Owen Lewis Hey! I appreciate your feedback. My intent wasn't to be dramatic, it was to state the facts. Owens' body of work meets the criteria of Hall of Fame; however, the powers-that-be are snubbing because of their personal bias. Do you believe that's fair or foul?

Chris Lacy I believe it's completely foul, we are in agreeance on that. But I'll go a step and further and say that this is NFL and media corruption at its finest. The media made TO out to be a villain and the NFL is witholding the only thing hey can from him, his deserving spot hall of fame. It's disgusting

If you're going just by numbers, he had 1400 more yards and 25 more touchdowns than Marvin Harrison. 14.8 yards per catch compared to 13.2 for their careers too. And Harrison played with possibly the greatest QB of all time. T.O. played with Multiple QB's throughout his career and still produced better numbers. If we put emotions aside here, it's quite obvious he deserves to be in.

He worked hard and played well in big games, only to have it end in tragedy each time. Add to that, he had the heart of a champion! Whenever you have all of that in a player, something is likely to happen that players and organizations do not like as a result! To give you some idea, Barry Sanders quit instead of letting his frustration show! This action still hurt everyone involved a lot! He had some of the worst bad luck in history. 1. He only had 2 full seasons with Young. 2. Hearst gets hurt in ATL in the playoffs ending their playoff hopes in 98 and the last hope to a SB with Young, because his career ended in the next game(Tampa Bay). 3. Garcia did not have the arm to stretch the defense. And, TO could go deep! 4. Williams' horse collar. 5. McNabb was a great playoff QB, but apparently that did translate to the SB. He looked scared and was terrible like the game was too big! 6. Romo was not a playoff QB!

The guy spotted me on the incline bench at the Palms spa one day, must have been 2008 or 2009. Took me another few minutes to realize it was T.O. People are just people, and he was as cool a nice and anyone else. I told him one of the most impressive and tough things I saw as an athlete ever was his play in the 2005 super bowl which they actually lost. He has a ripped up ankle and likely a fractured leg, but he still went out there and produced, didn't complain. Whatever happens around an athlete in the press, to me, it never trumps demonstrated toughness in a game. That will always have my respect. And that's how I remember T.O.

People acting like Marvin Harrison wasn't elite. He was at one point the best WR in the NFL. And he played when Moss, Owens played. Played in the same era where defenses were allowed to be a little more physical than today especially in the playoffs. Teams designed game plans around stopping the Peyton to Harrison connection and he still burned them, including the Pats , my own team(We did shut him down in the playoffs with Law but man those games were tough). Come on man. 8 straight seasons with double digit TDs. One of the most precise route runners ever with elite deep speed, elite agility and elite hands. Rarely dropped passes and never led the league in drops like Owens. There is more than goes into evaluating receivers than just looking at their numbers. I would take Moss and Harrison over TO right now. And Harrison is top 10 all time. Anyone who says different can take their opinion and shove it.

Favre not a team player? Says who? Some arm chair quarterback. Ask his former Packer teammates. The Rodgers thing was between him and management and didn't hurt the team. It wasn't his job to groom his replacement. That's what O.C and QB coaches are paid to do. His gunslinger mentality wasn't selfish. It defined some great teams. The only time I heard the word selfish used was when he played hurt with the Jets to keep his streak alive and probably shouldn't have. Every NFL coach wishes they had players that selfish. I'm not aware of any sexual assault charge just a sexual harassment charge when a Jet. Huge difference. The man was an NFL player who played hurt. Of course he took pain killers. They're easy to get hooked on. It's not like he got hooked taking them recreationally . I salute him for addressing his problem and going public with it as today over 50000 Americans die a year from opiates. It's more than gun shot wounds or auto wrecks but you can thank greedy doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and politicians for that. Who is the all time leader in campaign contributions from pharmaceutical P.A.C's? Barack Obama. By the way, I'm not a fan of any of the teams Favre played for. It's just how I saw things.

Terrell Owens. Only credible evidence to say he was an issue with the 49ers. The Eagles team and fans favored T.O. over Mcnabb. McNabb was carried by T.O. when Owens arrived. Check the difference in stats when T.O arrived vs. before he got there. And he would have won MVP of the Superbowl on ONE LEG if they would have won. He creates Tony Romo and carries that offense. Right when T.O. got less touches, He complained yes, but the Cowboys missed the post season. T.O. didn't have a Tom Brady or Joe Montana throwing him the ball. He didn't have a Bill Bilicheck or Bill Walsh at Coach. He was bullied out the league and kept out because of reasons only NFL Owners know. All teams go through players uncomfort but they get through it with great leadership look at the 90s Cowboys or the 2007 Giants. T.O didn't have that leadership with Romo or McNabb. On top of that Romo never stepped up to defend T.O and McNabb started the mess with his childish comments when T.O got hurt. Regardless T.O. puts up all time numbers. He averages the most Touchdowns per game he plays in than Jerry Rice himself. He was an after the catch phenom and could do it all - Run EVERY route on the tree break tackles off any defender and run past any DB. T.O. will forever be the Greatest PLAYER to play reciever. I don't know the man personally so why the heck would I consider his "character" when he has never had any problem with the law. If that was the case 1/2 the dudes in the Hall of Fame wouldn't be there. It's football. Not politics.

They got rid of Jeff Garcia for the same reason did he have an issue as well??? The media has demonize T.O. for no good reason probabl because he didnt do everything they wanted him to do by giving interviews and things like that so they take that out on him by making him seem like the wors e person ever evnthough he never did anything but talk a lot. What do you mean he wasn't an issue for the 49ers? He was constantly in turmoil with the offensive coordinator Greg Knapp about play calls and not getting the ball enough, and had basically accused Jeff Garcia of being gay in a publication. San Fran got rid of Owens because, yes he was a salary cap casualty, but he also wasn't worth the headache of keeping around while being a distraction to a lot of the younger guys on the team. Talent wise? He is DEFINITELY one of the greats! I was a big fan of his during his days in San Francisco and Philadelphia, but Owens does have narcissistic qualities about him that generate attention and controversy.

Christian Soldier Sounds like you have parts of your story mixed up.. Is it not true that Owens had problems with Greg Knapp? Is it not true that he asserted that Jeff Garcia was gay? Owens was a me-me guy in San Fran and had the attention that current day diva wide receivers like Odell Beckham Jr. get today. Also, Jeff Garcia was released in the same 2003 offseason as Terrell Owens after San Francisco was starting to implode trying to make decisions on Tim Rattay and Jeff Garcia. Get your facts straight bruh..

T.O. is definitely a Hall of Famer. The numbers don't lie. Who cares if he wasn't a good interview or he never gave the press what they wanted. To this day, after all that's been said about Owens, nobody can say that he ever lied or didn't produce. Being a choir boy is not a criteria for being a member of the Hall. If it was then most of those players there wouldn't have gotten in.

Marvin is better than TO. They're both HOF, but I'm sorry marvin has better hands is a better route runner, and plays his role as a great teammate. Not to mention his footwork he'd toe tap that line all day. Only thing TO had was being bigger, other than that Marvin was a freak of nature. 2nd best receiver of all time.

Marvin and TO both came in 96. Every year Marvin had better numbers. TO played 2 more years. TO was a beast as well. But so was Tory Holt, & Randy Moss. Marvin caught a lot of balls & still holds the record for most receptions in a season. If u want to discredit Marvin Harrison being one of the best or better than TO because he played with Peyton Manning then u have to discredit Jerry Rice who is widely considered the greatest receiver ever. He played with Joe Montana. He was smaller and avoided a lot of punishment by either sliding or going out of bounds, but does that mean he wasnt a great receiver?

Terrell Owens is never going to take any responsibility for the problems that he caused with teams. He somehow was always the victim either with his teammates and coaches or with the media. It's a complete waste of time even talking to him about it. having said that, he should've gone into the HOF first ballot because his stats speak to that for sure.

+Calvin Strozier What problems? Saying McNabb was out of shape? We all saw him throwing up and walking to the line while trailing in the latter part of the super bowl. Shanahan confirmed that he was out of shape with the Redskins. I guess that was T.O.'s fault too. The media can forgive Marvin Harrison for shooting a gun at someone but not T.O. for shooting his mouth. We're all still witnessing what Dallas is like with Romo & Witten's friendship as the main focus. They only won when they got T.O. the ball and only won recently when Romo got the ball to Dez and handed it to Demarco. Hmmmmm. T.O. is right and I'm not even a T.O. fan.

MOSS IS THE BEST DEEP THREAT EVER CURRENTLY, HARRISON IS THE BEST ROUTE RUNNER EVER CURRENTLY, BUT MIX THE TWO AND YOU GOT RICE CURRENTLY AS THE BEST COMBINED BUT FOOTBALL IS STILL BEING PLAYED AND I LOVE COREY DAVIS OF WESTERN MICHIGAN HE IS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN COMING OUT OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL IN 15 YEARS AND IF HE PLAYS WHERE HE CAN BE UTILIZED PROPERLY THEN WELL ADD ANOTHER TO THE MIX!!! SIZE, SPEED, ROUTE RUNNING, SEPARATION, CAN RUN BY, RUN AWAY FROM AND MOST IMPORTANTLY RUN ACROSS THE MIDDLE AND OUTRUN EVERYBODY IS WHAT A PASS HAPPY TEAM, COACH, QUARTERBACK WANTS PERIOD!!!
