Back in 1st year geography at school, the teacher, Mr Baxter, made all of us 11 year old boys join hands in concentric circles, with those in the centre standing on desks, the next ring on chairs, the next on the floor and outer ring sitting on the floor, all chanting "we are contours, lines of equal height, we are contours, lines of equal height!" A lesson we’ll learned or child abuse.... you decide!

I disagree I think it a beautiful design and the spear blade reminds me of the gec#78 one of my favourite knives. Interesting steel as well. Thanks for sharing atb paddy. 👍😃☘️

I do like the look of this, and if I was still a sailor I will look at this very seriously. However, the lack of a marlin spike would probably rule it out.

The lack of a spike disappointed me as well, I wish I'd brought that up more than the cursory Boyes knife comparison in fact.

Thanks for the video. I'm about as likely to buy it as I am to go to sea. Doesn't mean I don't want to hear an articulate hand model give it the once over. ☝️😃

Just a beautiful knife and great EDC. Had it for a while now and am pretty pleased with the titanium version. Bought a slip with a built in clip for it, because the lack of pocket clip makes it disappear in the depths of my pockets. XD

A great looking knife, design wise it is perfect to me. Even when I worked on yachts I never really had a problem with corrosion on my knives and tools, you quickly learn to care for everything just that little bit more than you should normally. The edge on dendritic colbalt is daw like so perfect for wet rope cutting and fairly easy to sharpen. Personally I would go for H1 steel if I still worked on boats as I prefer the edge it will take, but even my old 440C knives were really not a problem. Thanks for showing a gorgeous knife.

love the look of this and have been thinking of pulling the trigger... what is holding me back is that i dont see the use for a non magnetic blade when the handle has a lot of magnetic stuff on it... same for the insane corrosion resistance of the blade ( the selling point is it wont rust in 1000 years under sea ) but that is not the case if you put steel in your handle even tho its a very stainless one. Also the half stop of my J.e made combustion 3v is 100% flush.

  • @hughllewelyn-evans5053

PK70 goes flush at the half-stop. It's nice from an engineering perspective, but beyond that, I'm not fussed.

I forgot to mention in my previous comment, that phosphor bronze is used a lot in marine environments, including for springs, I would have thought it would make a better back spring than titanium.

Certainly a thought! I've no idea of course myself but if it can handle it, why not? It would look pretty cool as well!

@@UKLegalCarryKnives I like bronze anyway and it would look good on a marine knife too. Did you see the TS 187 is back in Two Sun but with brown micarta? I am very tempted.

I was thinking of buying one of those watches. I thought it may be a bit small at 34mm. Is it very accurate being mechanical? .I know they do a quartz one which is cheaper. Thanks.

@@stevenshipley5280 I've measured mine at avg +3s per 24 hrs which I think is alright, it is quite a small watch to be sure though I believe that's by design to keep it out of the way of sleeves etc, the tritium is lovely. Something odd though is that the movt. has a date wheel, they just didn't cut out the slot for it.

UK Legal Carry Knives Thanks for the information. I think it’s a Seiko movement. That’s why it doesn’t say Swiss made on the dial. Although they are assembled in Switzerland. Plus 3 seconds a day is fine. They quote -30 to + 30 secs a day. So yours is very good. Did you go for the sterile version?

It doesn't do anything for me. It looks incredibly dull in my opinion and I have never liked the barlow form to be honest. The price is also prohibitive to me. Thanks for your review though.
