This is my favorite game so it’s always a joy when others also really like it. I agree that the take that is kinda out of place. We house ruled that on the cards that say take up to certain number plants/resource that you can choose 0 as a numbered amount. The ones that say you have to take something away we do as follows.

Nice, I think we just try to make sure everyone understands it's in the game so it isn't a surprise if it happens. Just a minor complaint for us though in an otherwise outstanding game! -Ryan

I liked the part where the cubes come pre scratched out of the box with some dinged corners and that this full priced game has no storage solution, just a bunch of crap dumped into the box. have fun. if you want to put your stuff neatly or have it so when you play, the cubes don't slide around, pay extra 20 bones for extra cardboard. back in my day, you had a box with everything you needed. that's the disappointing part of this game. and that cards have random art with no cohesive style

I can see where you're coming from, though to be honest, we never really had much of an issue with any of the things you're describing. 🤷‍♂️ Don't mind just bagging everything and the components and artwork have felt serviceable. That said, the double layer cardboard player boards are definitely an upgrade we've felt is worth it. I don't envy the position of modern day publishers needing to balance upgrading the game in the best ways while still trying to keep the price at a reasonable level! -Ryan
