    Interesting there is no right or wrong on the toilet seat thing I think it’s what you grew up with. I do disagree with a lot of people here saying DO It Just because she asked. The fact that asking why and asking for an explanation makes someone an asshole proves you are dumb. Not an opinion a fact. Meaning you can’t explain and you want things done just because. That’s what a 3 year old expects. It won’t be like that for everything but occasionally things need an explanation. But if JUST BECAUSE imma girl and that’s what a girl wants over something that can go either way is your grounds for being mad... you’re dumb. I would never expect the person I’m with to do something just because even though I disagree with her. I’d like to talk, explain, and understand. I am never that person. In a healthy relationship with anyone if you disagree with someone you should be able to explain. I don’t like being told what to do JUST BECAUSE. just because is not a reason and it doesn’t make anyone an asshole to explain their position and ask why. That’s how you end up a dumbass. Some of y’all have a dumb understanding of TALK through your differences, don’t get mad, and just fucken speak to each other. If you don’t like talking through your thoughts and emotions be by yourself you ain’t ready for an adult relationship.

    David is right, asking for an explanation doesn't have to be complex it be as simple as "it makes me feel uncomfortable etc". I swear I think people are looking at it too deeply, David isn't asking for Mariel to make a powerpoint presentation to why but just a simple, logical reason. P.S David youre such a role model and I cant wait to see more podcasts with you and Mariel :)

    I like David's personality from an entertainment stand point, but I think I would find him so irritating on a personal level. He actually reminds me of my brother. They both like to debate a point, but they don't actually listen to the other person. They have their opinion and you have to move a mountain to get them to see it is not the only right way to think (IDK if I worded that correctly). At least that's what I'm picking up from this video. I agree with Mariel's points a lot though.

  • @DavidSoComedy

    @DavidSoComedy

    Michole I actually did listen to everything. The problem isn’t listening. It’s a problem with people wanting to have their way without explaining why. You are irritated because you dont like it when someone challenges you to answer WHY with something that you WANT. You agree with her because wit aligns with what you want. You don’t like it... because I asked for an explanation why. It’s not a DEBATE! Asking for a reason is not a debate nor is it an argument. That is the problem that I have with people. If I did not listen to what she said why would I ask why? Of course I listened I just asked her to explain her position so I could better understand her and why she wants me to do something that I grew up thinking the opposite. Why does it frustrate you to explain something that you demand out of your significant other? When she presented her side that we should just put both lids down... I DID IT. it made sense to me. No argument or debate. So yes I do listen. I just don’t like to have unreasonable things be demanded out of me without explanation. You should learn to converse with people without being upset when you ask something of them without explanation. Have a nice day :)

    kevin ji and your response is exactly what I mean. A response... without explanation. You response to me... is not an answer. It is the equivalent of just saying... SEEEEE. And then leaving it at that. I like an explanation to better understand. Not to debate. Not fight. So I understand WHY.

    The toilet seat should be put down. Men sit down to number 2. Ladies sit down to number one and two. So if it needs to be down 3 times out of 4, it should be put down after the one out of the four times it’s down.

    David is so stubborn with the toilet seat thing. She has to sit down every time she goes to the toilet while you get to stand up to pee. I'm with David on the toilet seat thing. Mariel is a grown ass woman. She can put the toilet seat down herself. Unfair double standards that guys have to put the toilet seat up for their woman, but woman don't have to put the toilet seat down for their man. I'm with David on the toilet seat thing. If woman don't their put the seat up for their man, then they shouldn't expect the man to put the seat down for them. Mariel's problem with the toilet seat thing is a personal preference. She can put the toilet seat down herself, but expects David to put the toilet seat down for her. That's coming from a sense of entitlement. It's about gender equality. If a girl wants her man to put the toilet seat down, then she should always put it down for her man.

I hope when he gets older he'll be mature enough to apologize to you David, and I hope you have the heart to forgive him. The way he handled this was very childish when all he had to do was just talk to you. gosh, Yusuke reminds me of me (we're close in age too). This reminds me of some beef I had with another kid in middle school which I could have squashed if I had just talked to the other kid, but stupid immature 13 or 14-year-old me just decided to fuel the fire instead. we were breakdancers and one random he made a dance video making fun of/criticizing me (kinda like a dis track but with dancing) and calling me out. I found out later a friend of ours told him lies that I was talking shit about him. Again all I had to do was talk to him and clear things up but my dumbass decided to diss him back. like Yusuke, everything was taken out of context (but from both sides in my case). I was also afraid to confront him maturely, even tho he's 21 he's just a kid that did not know how to handle situations like this. I know I didn't back then.

David doesn't make money off the podcast but the money that is made goes to the crew members and editors. its like a chef preparing your meal only for the customer to change it as soon as its done. now you to have to scrap it. when you cancel, its money and time in the garbage, wasted. david gave him the benefit of a dought to explain himself. when yusuke gets older he's gonna know he's in the wrong. i thought the same thing at his age. "the things u say about someone says more about u than about the person itself" which is really funny because the last thing yusuke told David was to roast him. proving David's point, yusuke made an assumption. he shriveled up in a corner and backed out like a child because boo hoo he didn't want to hear some legitimate criticism.

    With the whole logical explanation thing, I agree with David. I am similar. However... with the toilet seat. What else do you need to know? There doesn't require a long explanation. It's pretty simple. Even your own explanation was simple 'I stand up when I pee.' I think it's just common sense to put two and two together with 'toilet seat' and 'I'm a girl'.

    I can relate with David talking about being told to do things without explanations or reason. Growing up it just made me angry frustrated and like I was being talked at and not with which resulted in a bunch of anger issues when being TOLD into my late teens. Which even now in my early 20s has caused issues with previous relationships with people. All that being said, David does make it seem hard for people to debate with him because of how ready he is to defend his way of thinking but expects the other person to able to defend their position just as well and some people may find that as confrontational Anyway much love from a long time fan And great episode David!

    LMAO at people who are saying Mariel is right, patient, blah blah. I guarantee you she is keeping herself calm because this is a podcast. Behind closed doors, her voice probably have gone up several double digit in decibels if this was a real argument. Couples in REAL relationships are going to have disagreements/arguments/irritations over dumb things, which you only realize it was dumb in hindsight. Fighting over who's right about the toilet seat is pretty dumb in any relationship and neither David or Mariel is right in their stance. They simply have their preferences over many things, including toilet seat position... and IMO, David is a saint cuz he is actually putting a lot effort to change his behavior/preference to appease Mariel.

    roo thao Falling through a toilet seat is the worst argument I’ve heard. Let me explain. If you fell through once and you didn’t learn from that... you might have a bigger issue lol. To say that you can never learn to put the toilet seat down before you sit would be like a man saying... I dunnno... I CAN NEVER LEARN TO PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN EITHER which would be a dumb excuse right? You are making that same excuse. So if it’s ridiculous and YOU can’t be EXPECTED to remember to look, and put the toilet seat down, thennnnnn how is it expected that a man should be able to put the toilet seat down every time as well? Do you see how hypocritical that is? Do you see why that argument doesn’t work? It’s just another way of saying... do it just because and rules only apply to me because im a girl. Listen... Just have some grace and forgiveness when it doesn’t happen ALL the time because you clearly can’t do it all the time either. That’s all :)

    @@DavidSoComedy #1 roo thao, DAVID WOULD NOT FALL THROUGH THE TOILET BC HE HAS A BIG OL JUICY ASS LOL Toilet seat up or down doesn’t really matter to me because I see it as, if I pee, I adjust the seat to my preference. I think it is fair for a woman to pee, to put the seat down and when a man has to pee, put it up. Same amount of work. Falling through the toilet seat is NOT a good argument as to why men should put the seat down for women. Men should not have to do things for women "just because" and vice versa. It is just an inconvenience for when the seat is not defaulted to their own preference. It is NOT a (good) reason as to why someone must/should put the seat up/down Tbh when I moved in with my bf, I had to learn how to adapt (him too) bc since the dawn of time, I was used to having the seat down. Sometimes in the middle of the night when I have to go pee (no turning on the lights, half-asleep), I forget that the toilet seat may be up, I sit down, and I fall back into the toilet. Which pisses me off bc I forgot about the toilet seat for the gazillionth time lol! Or when I'm distracted on my phone, sit down on the toilet (how I've always done all my life), just for me to fall through!! -.- So yes, I hate it when the toilet seat is up bc it is an INCONVENIENCE to me, but it is NOT a reason why I should force my bf to cater to me. Although, it would be nice if they do cater to you (nothing wrong w that) but if they don't, there's nothing wrong w that either. If they do, GREAT. A BONUS. If they don't, I dont expect them too. PS. I dont fall through anymore LOL

    @@DavidSoComedy let's go with the scenario where the guy leaves it up & the girl has to put it down everytime she pees (which in your argument would be fair bc there'd be an equal amount of work in opp case). But for girls, we have cons if we forget/aren't careful enough & don't put the toilet seat down. we can fall in & have our booty cheeks touch the nasty toilet water, we can get dried piss on our ass from the rim, etc. *which leads to us hopping in the shower to wash that shit off*. Whereas if the man forgets to put the seat up before peeing, there's just less aiming area & if he gets splatter on the seat then hopefully he'll clean it up with tissues. The amount of cons + effort put in on the woman's side if the seat is up vs. cons on the man's side if the seat is down is uneven. That's why it's viable to use "I fall into the toilet bowl" in the argument (if explained properly) You're saying that if you've already fallen into the toilet bowl once, then there's a problem with you if you fall in again. But you say that you rarely get pee splatter on the toilet rim..it only happens when you wake up in the middle of the night & that's why you forget to clean it up..shouldn't the same leniency be towards falling into the toilet bowl too? Its not smth that happens often (hopefully not) but it's annoying & inconveniencing when it does, so it would just save a lot of anger if it was down. I do agree that there should be a grace period bc it obviously takes time to overwrite habits tho.

  • @soulsocietyprincess

    @@DavidSoComedy I *stated in the beginning* that i was going with the scenario of if the guy leaves it up 24/7 & the girl has to put it down everytime she pees. So I'm talking about what happens in that case..if she sits down while its up, she'd get either toilet water or dried piss from the rim on her peaches. You even said in the podcast that there are times when you accidentally pee a little on the rim & forget to clean it up (understandable if it only happens rarely). But lets say we go with the other case. I get what you're saying with if the seat is down 24/7 & the guy doesn't notice, that increases chances for splashage hence that'd just make the girl shower off more frequently. But I don't think that's an actually realistic scenario..for it to be true, then the guy would normally forget that the seat is down & always pee over it + never clean it up. Hopefully it's only rarely that the guy doesn't notice it's down & not up + will actually clean up their piss & not just wait till their s/o does it for them LOL like if i fall into the toilet, I wouldn't expect my bf to help me clean up the mess, just like how he should clean his pee if he gets it on the seat. i think it's a way more realistic scenario that would happen more often where ur girl falls into the toilet vs. ur man peeing on the seat AND choosing to not clean it up. the cons attached to a girl having to take off their clothes, hop in the shower, and be disgusted that they got toilet water all over their freshly-shaven booty hole is greater than the cons attached to a guy grabbing some toilet paper to clean up their piss. Hence it would make more sense to leave it down OR put both the seat & cover down like how you guys are doing now. I mainly focused on the 'falling through the toilet' thing as being a viable argument b/c you've mentioned how it's unreasonable for a bf/husband/fiancee/whatevertf to yield to their gf's requests "just bc they're a girl" & that just stating "I fall through the toilet" is the same argument as that hence its not viable. I wrote out my comment to show that it is valid in a different narrative. Maybe you're addressing it to the general argument & not to me specifically, but I never said that men are inconsiderate & dumb just b/c they can't remember to put the toilet seat down..in fact, I've said multiple times that it is completely understandable if you forget or accidentally pee on the seat & that there should be a grace period bc we're only all human!! y'all have come to a compromise, but you guys were debating about the matter of whether or not the seat should be up/down & the process BEFORE arriving to the compromise A LOT in this podcast, hence why I along with other viewers are responding to the debate/opinion portion :p
