Because it's completely unexpected. Watching TV shows, we expect major character deaths to only happen in epic and heroic battles. The nature of Terminator's story is that it just doesn't happen that way. I liked Derek a lot, but his sudden death was a great way to carry the theme of the show. This is exactly why John told Jesse that in the future he starts sending machines back instead of humans, because metal can be replaced and humans can't.

Well, if they kill Cameron, no point for S3 imo. And if they kill her, they kill that show.. Summer said at some interview that she's shocked about the season finale, and it isnt an ending (for her?).. so I have no idea what to think. We'll see it next friday. Great trailer btw.

Derek's death, the most real one in the history of television. God bless you Josh Friedman. Some people might not be ready for your way of killing Derek but that is the way death happens. Today a couple of hours ago I was walking down a very important avenue in my city and i witnessed a car crash i saw the whole thing, the blood, the glass flying, bodies smashing onto the ground. It took like 3 seconds, and guess what, there was no glory in it. Death just happens... Humans are irreplaceable

my mom was watching the view and said that the actor who plays Derek was on. He said that it was really popular, there's no way it's cancelled.

People who say Friedman is an idiot or has no clue or does what he does for shock value need to look at this differently i think we all pretty much know that there won't be a season 3 so the only reason main characters have been getting killed is because of that....there's virtually no future for the show so they're ALL now expendable with the obvious exception of John....I wouldn't be surprised if Sarah and/or Cameron die in the finale. So people need to chill and just take it in.

I actually disagree. I got into the show because of Prison Break and its lineup. Prison Break's latest season has been boring me to death. I've even skipped episodes because I didn't think it was worth watching. TSCC has blown my mind away every single episode so far this season. Their biblical references make the show that much more powerful. Ratings have seriously gone down. I'm hoping they'll keep Cameron around if they do decide to continue the show.

LIARS! This show cant be canceled the 4th movie is about to come out and u think they would cancel the show in the same month? I love this show, fox needs to cancel that crap show Dollhouse! That show makes Sarah Conner looks bad.
