True story about this game I'll never forget: Back when T2 was a new game, one of the best "local" arcades in Las Vegas was a place called Mary K's (formerly Genie Moore's) in the Commercial Center, on Sahara Ave. about a mile east of the Strip. They got one of these in when it was new, and I played the living hell out of it. The two best pinball players in this place were myself, and another guy about my age (early 20s) named Sal. We would often play heads up on the pinball games, with the winner getting the "free" 3rd credit for putting 4 quarters into the game. Anyway, I went first, and with extra balls added in I had a score of over 4 BILLION at the end of ball one. I already had the top score on the machine with two more balls to go. Sal stepped up to take his first turn, and I could tell that his stance at the game was not right. His legs were *very* close to the front of the game's cabinet, and therefore his left knee was only half an inch or so from the Start button. You can guess what happened next.... Sal deliberately hit the Start button on the game, therefore causing the machine to reset and go into the start of a whole new game, my 4 billion plus score permanently erased. Jealous motherfucker then just stands there giving me all these fake apologies and looking sheepish. This is one of the few times in my life that I seriously considered beating the living fuck out of another person. It wouldn't have been tough to do given that I was slightly taller than Sal and had at least 100 pounds on him. I was chubby, but I bowled several times a week and rode a bicycle all over Las Vegas, so I wasn't out of shape. Best pinball game of my life, ruined over someone else's petty jealousy and wanting to keep his initials at the top of the leaderboard. Now I have this game in the Pinball Arcade on my PS3, and I'm once again reliving the good old days. Minus Sal's dorky pinhead ass.

Well... ok... but a player hitting the start button during Ball 1 will just put in another player, not restart the game. If this really happened it sounds like a reason not to ever play heads-up again, and surely you were capable of another 4 billion some other time, right? I'll ask Sal for his take on this incident the next time I see him. He's a nice guy.

Maybe it was ball 2 then. But the game being reset and my score I do remember. And sure, I could have tried for another score that good, but my experience with losing that one game the way I did just turned me off from playing the game at all afterwards. And you know Sal? Skinny blonde-haired guy about 6 feet tall? Used to hang out in the Mary K's arcade I mentioned, like all the time? I thought you guys were out in Pennsylvania? And anyway, I saw him later in the 90s after coming back to Vegas from 3 years away. I'm not mad at him any more.

progrocker69 Met Sal at Pinball Hall of Fame, and see him frequently at tournaments, 3-4 times a year. Good player and good guy. Get back in the real game and take him down...!

Bowen Kerins A trip to the PHoF is definitely "in the cards" for me. I haven't even been there yet but I only live about 3 miles from it, literally in the shadow of the UNLV campus. When money's not so tight I'll be hanging out there when I can. It looks like such an awesome place! Thanks for taking the time to chat, Bowen. I've really been enjoying all of your videos for some time now and I'd love to meet you by chance at the HoF eventually. :-)

Sal just finished in the top 8 at the enormous Pinburgh 2014, winning $1,000 in the process!

This is by far the most fascinating pinball machine I've ever played. I was 17 years old and couldn't afford more than a couple of games every time I came round. :)

You gain so much more enjoyment playing on a table having watched a tutorial such as this. Very good tutorials and enjoyable to watch in their own right. Subscribed.

My childhood was spent playing this table while my dad worked his job at the bar. Thank you for helping me find a weird sense of closure with perfecting this table

One of my favorite old games that I haven't seen in a while. I'm amazed how many of the rules I misunderstood despite my hours and hours of play almost 20 years ago. Excellent video.

Wow dude Bowen put on A CLINIC! It's just amazing how good he is I can watch these vids all day.

I remember when this was originally released. First game I'd ever seen with a DMD (may very well be the first game to have one). Between that and actually having Arnold doing the voice over, it was very impressive for its time.

I can really appreciate the extra editing done on this video compared to others. Very nice addition to these videos.

This game is pretty basic, but you always keep coming back to it!!! Best early Williams DMD pinball machine out there!!

I love this game and I hate it too. Something about how those ramps are designed. It's so easy to get them halfway up and then for the ball to drain back down the middle. More than any other game that I have played.

yeahhhh especially that right ramp, the left you can avoid if you slightly bump the game to the side to make the ball bump off the cannon targets. You can see that technique being used on this video as well although he is doing it when the ball comes down off the loops.

There is not a lot of speech in this game but it is nice speech.

I grew up with this pinball machine! :D my local KOA Campground has this in their arcade and this was the game I would always play. Can't wait to go back next month and play it again :)

Laura Lulu I was just reminiscing with my brother about playing arcade games at the KOA campground when we were kids. Nice memories.

The first game with a Super jackpot was Monday night football, by Data East!

Loved playing this Pinball back in the days at the local snack-bar. Now I have a VR headset and wow so many tables and it's like playing the real thing almost for free.

Great table. I know there's one in the basement of this bar in Sudbury, ON. It's broken, but the cats love it.

Best arcade memories were from this pinball game and the T2 shooter video game.

Mark Maturo indeed! I still play it at home with my PC lightgun from time to time. Beating the T2 arcade game in '92 was very memorable for me as I didn't beat many arcade games (mostly NES at home). I was expecting to have a crowd form or something but noone saw me best it :( BTW They made Terminator Salvation (2010). Looks like a good arcade shooter.

This is awesome. I've been focused FOREVER on hitting the ramps and getting payback time, never been obsessed with Super Jackpot, to be honest, I never hit it so I try for payback time. When I'm playing well I can slap that right loop on the left flipper three times in a row, or if my timing is good I can get to payback time without a missed ramp. Great video.

Yes, I always liked Arnold's voice-over on the sequence toward Payback Time, building the tension. I'd wind up saying them to myself in Arnold voice while I did chores and such: "silent alarm de-activated", "vault key secured", "load the cannon". I'm sure people thought I was nuts.

I would sometimes play it just to see what all I could make go off and light up and not care about getting jackpots and high scores. The experience was just so damn cool.

I'm gonna start binge watching these. Gotta prep for Pinburgh. :)

thank you so much for making this video! while im not able to play the real deal around here, i do love to play it on the pinball arcade, i just dont know all the in depth strategies to it yet since the instructions in pinball arcade are long and drawn out, you make it simple to learn! id love to see more table tutorials of games featured in pinball arcade!

Bowen Kerins is a very funny guy!! On his Indy 500 tutorial he says"no one goes for the stupid lightups", when he got the super light up mode!!

every time I get a chance to play this Pin I always do the right shots for extra points. plus once you get the routine down you can do one shot after the other.

Pinball Arcade has horrible ball physics. Can't wait for this to come to Pinball FX3 since they now have the licence to Williams tables.

Bowen is the man - makes it look and sound interesting and easy enough to play and learn

This pinball machine was in my college dining hall. Of you got good at those wire ramp loops, you could run up a nice score.

I recently downloaded a pinball arcade game for the PS4, and as I was digging around. I saw they left credits behind for this table, Addams Family, and Twilight Zone. And I was bummed they didn't introduce these tables into the normal game. As I didn't know there was a kickstarter due to my inefficiency at mulching the internet quite like that. I wish they would have involved those tables. Because T2, and Addams family I have played quite a bit. And Twilight Zone is a no-brainer.

no, you can't. rely on the lights. and for super jackpot, fire the instant the second from bottom lights during the upswing of the cannon, just like Bowen does here. This works on 90% of all t2 games at least, including ones where the cannon moves at double speed. Have fun. amaze your friends by not walking to the side of the game to look. I make the super jackpot first try on most T2 games i can find on location. This does NOT work in TPA, though. :( Also, it might fail in PAPA finals, as the game will have been modded to make it harder. but

How did you make the Status Report display during the game? Cant seem to figure it out on the one I play

Hold a flipper up and wait a second, and you can use the other flipper to scroll through it quicker.

I am rated in the Top 10 worldwide for competitive pinball and I must say this is a superb tutorial.

TenouHaruka0 Like anything else in life you need to practice practice practice! This video helps a lot too. I try to use markings on the playfield as a guide for certain ramps on games etc. Keep on practicing and watching videos like this and you will get better!
