Thanks for the shout out 🤟😂 didn't see any mice this time 👍 I repaired a T2 and I remember that cannon never stopping until I put in a new cpu. Definitely can be annoying, but a great game. Totally worth it!

Same thing happened to one of my T2's when I turned it on for the first time , after it had been sitting in storage for over 10 years.

Man, you were tempting fate talking about explosions before turning it on….then look what happened 🤣 I’m sure you will have T2 fixed up soon. Mine had the same wear on the CPU inserts. Hopefully the sound board can be repaired easily dude 🤞🏼

Cool video, I don’t really understand why you wouldn’t ohm check the coils, and do some board work or have board work done before powering it on, just my thoughts, but it’s a great candidate for a restoration for sure. Looking forward to more videos.

I have watched a lot of pinball restoration videos on YT mostly from Joe's Classic Video Games channel and the first thing you do before powering up a pinball machine that has been sitting unused for extended periods is clean it out thoroughly before you power it on. That means pulling out all the mobos, cleaning corrosion, replacing parts that are clearly roached etc, and lifting the table (which in your case didn't look too bad) and inspect everything. It also doesn't hurt to pull out a voltmeter and check the PSU(while disconnected from the machine) is still outputting withing spec. There is no way of knowing this might happen due to something shorting out/oveloading if you don't take a few extra steps to insure it won't. Hopefully the rest of the barn finds won't die so spectacularly.

@@pinballshenanigans I was more like oh no something expensive and irreplaceable just blew up and thought could it have been prevented, but sometimes no amount of precautions can prevent a disaster.

@@miniskunk yes that can be true. What exploded on the soundboard was just a tantalum capacitor. Easy to replace and very cheap so that is good 🙂

Ouch! May i suggest watching, "mr Carlsson lab"? The guy really knows how to not blow electrical components.

Does this mean you are going to work on both your Terminator 2 and your South Park Pinball machines?

I have a T2..cant say Im a fan. It gets played the least in my arcade when I have guest over. Its lame the ball launch goes right to that middle target 100% of the time and bounces slowly down the middle of the playfield. Same pattern on my T2 every time. That middle target is so worn out I have to replace it.... Ive tried different leveling angles....still sucks.

Oh weird. You could adjust the ball guide angle or the strength of the auto launch coil maybe
