Teresa was born in New Jersey in 1974, being the first generation of Italian immigrants from Sicily. Her mom didn't know she was pregnant, and Teresa was born in the US. They were living in an attic, her father was working odd jobs including washing dishes and construction. Eventually, he became a shoemaker, and this inspired Teresa to study fashion marketing at Berkeley College in New Jersey. They were a middle-class family, and her father was able to pay for her wedding and college tuition.
After college, she married Joe Giudice and had her first daughter in 2001. Teresa rose to fame starring in the first season of Real Housewives Of New Jersey in 2009. Then in 2012, she starred on 'The Celebrity Apprentice' and raised $70,000.00 for NephCure, a charity that focuses on rare kidney diseases that affect children. Children of course have been her main focus for the last 20 years, as she now has four wonderful daughters that fill her life with love and keep her busy. Even though things were looking good around this time, it all came crashing down.
Teresa ran into severe legal trouble in 2013, when she & her husband were sent to prison on multiple counts of fraud. Her marriage of 20 years fell apart. She served 11 months, and during that time faced multiple lawsuits. This was a major time of self-reflection and figuring out how to move on. She settled her debt, paid her dues, and did her time for the crimes she committed. After all this, she then lost her Mother and then her Father all within a couple years from each other. Those deaths really affected her kids and everyone in her family and were a tough obstacle for them to overcome. She feels now that she's finally able to get her life back on track.
Since starring on Housewives, Giudice has co-authored three successful cookbooks that include recipes handed down from her mother from Italy. When she was first released from prison in 2015, she wrote her first memoir titled "Turning The Tables" that ended up becoming a New York Times Best Seller. It chronicled her life growing up, meeting Joe, joining RHONJ, and serving nearly a year in prison. Her latest book, though, was quite a departure for her. It's called "Standing Strong" and is an introspective look at herself, how she has changed as a person, and how she is trying to live her life now. It was tough adjusting to being a single parent and trying to live a normal life after prison. It was tough to focus on herself for a change and create a healthier lifestyle with yoga and good eating habits. Now Theresa feels like she's finally in a good place in her life, and wants to share her story of how she was able to turn her life around, in hopes of inspiring others.

This was a civilized interview. Teresa shows that she is in fact a very strong woman who has dealt with live’s vicissitudes and tribulations like most people can’t. My congratulations for a very good interview with intelligent questions that were not focused on the scandalous aspects that “yellow journalism “ go for. I really enjoyed it

Thank you for having her on your show! You guys rock and pretty much my favorite podd cast. Teresa warms my heart in a special way because she reminds me of my Italian Aunt in New Jersey. Her voice and style of speaking is so similar and feels like a big bear hug to listen to. I miss my aunt because I am on the West Coast. So, it's emotional is a happy way to hear her voice. She is so special and I hope her journey onward is blessed for her and her family. Peace and love to you and yours.

Corrections ... My American Italian Aunt and it is emotional *IN* a happy way. That is a complex feeling. Causes cognitive dissonance sometimes. But, I feel love and sadness and coexist in harmony.

This was a kick-ass interview with Teresa. This is the first time I've seen complete honesty out of her. They make her the villain on her show. She's really a good woman and an excellent mom.

This chic would come to LBI, walk around inside Kapler’s Pharmacy wearing big black sunglasses (inside the store) while her kids are running a muck through the place. This is going on while her husband was parked outside in the handicapped parking spot in their giant Cadillac Escalade like it was his right to park there at 2pm on a Saturday in July. Everything that went on & landed them in prison was their own doing. They knew exactly what they were doing as far as the crimes they were committing. Then when they were busted, it’s oh poor me etc… then what followed was the family, kids and everyone else suffered in more ways than one, because of their choices & thinking they’d get away with it. Its insane that people are enamored by these types of people.

These children were traumatised by their parents actions, nobody's fault but Teresa and Joe's. Time Teresa started taking accountability for her actions. She's an aggressive and assaultive person. And stop saying you went away. Your a fellon who went to prison for mail and wire fraud among other things. The only reason Teresa isn't kicking off because it's men interviewing her and their being sympathetic towards her instead of holding her accountable.

I love Teresa! She is my favorite ❤️ I would not watch New Jersey girl. Teresa has been through so much and her brother is so jealous of her I am glad Teresa walked away from them they only had her back when she went to jail when the camera was on. Her brother had no business blaming Teresa for her mothers death and Joe Gorga always claims he never got to see his parents why did he not spend time with his dad when he was alive? Instead Joe blames Teresa for everything Joe has short man syndrome hope him and his wife are not on the show anymore that hang around with people that give his sister so much shit…. I would never let anyone fight with my family but Jo he likes it! Sime brother he is

Teresa's brother is incredibly attractive, but I must admit that I'm not fond of his wife. It seems like she has undergone significant changes, as I can't imagine him being with her. I had even thought they might end up getting a divorce, but perhaps circumstances have kept them together. It's just my personal opinion, but I find myself disliking this situation.
