Terence McKenna's True Hallucinations (Full Movie) HD

Ойын-сауық

Terence McKenna's True Hallucinations is an experimental documentary about the chaos at La Chorrera, the imagination, time, the Logos, belief, hope, madness, and doubt.
Created by Peter Bergmann, this project is an expansion of ideas first presented in "The Transcendental Object At The End Of Time".
In 1971, Terence McKenna, along with his brother Dennis and three other companions, ventured by plane, boat, and foot to the paradisical Colombian mission town of La Chorrera, where they hoped to encounter the elusive psychedelic oo-koo-hé. Fate would have it otherwise. Their attention soon turned to the large numbers of Stropharia Cubensis that they lucked upon, and before long, Terence and especially Dennis were formulating the psychopharmacological "experiment at La Chorrera" which would eventually give rise to Terence's expanded Jungian notion of the UFO as human oversoul, and his I Ching based TimeWave Theory which holds, among other things, that history as we know it is accelerating and, in fact, will come to a major concrescence.
Based on the underground classic book and talking book 'True Hallucinations: Being an Account of the Author's Extraordinary Adventures in the Devil's Paradise', this tale of alchemical understanding is a deep dive into the young minds of the McKenna brothers, and an effort to provide some kind of visual aid and emotional center to a much larger story, with details scattered through hundreds of talks. Featuring unearthed photos and notebook pages which have never been seen by the public since generated in 1971.
Special Thanks to Dennis McKenna, Klea McKenna, Kathleen Harrison and Stephanie Schmitz, since their contributions of documents, and approval were crucial in making this film a reality.

This video should help people, particularly those "unfamiliar" with these chemicals, understand why the term "psychedelic" and "hallucinogenic" should concede the right-of-way to a far more appropriate term, "enthiogenic."

I did my first high dose mushroom trip at age 16. Did not know what to expect... i was addicted to drugs my whole life from age 13 on. I used psychedelics for a long period of time on a regular basis. Now i'm 33 quit abusing any kind of drug for some years now. I just grew out of it, but one thing i will continue all my life and that is mushrooms. My friends allways used it for fun, for me it has always been different... I take high doses alone every now and then, at least two times a year and i think it helps me to be a better person... Completely useless comment under a youtube video:) But i want to say to all the Psychonauts out there, see you on the other side🙌😅 Peace and Love from a small Village in Germany💗🤙

I tripped heavily whilst walking around a huge city on a working Monday. I saw everything differently. I saw how we aggressively keep ourselves in this working and depressing society. I asked myself why don’t we just stop this shit if nobody wants to be doing this. It was so obvious yet so hidden. It made me so sad 😞 I knew psychedelics would show me this but it was sooooo different when I actually experienced it. I can never un-see the truth now🌏 I am still shocked today about what I saw. I hope everyone stays safe out there and don’t take everything too seriously because you literally don’t have too 😇❤️🌈

If you’re not happy all you can do is figure out why and do your best to change it. Remember material things only bring happiness for a short time so never think if I had this or that I would be happy. This includes money and people. You have to find it in yourself. I’m working on it too. It’s not easy but the worst thing that can happen to you is reaching your death and realizing you haven’t lived.

@@thelastrebelshow1627 hey, yeah this is what I've heard aswell, but it's interesting why you would take the trip and what the trip showed you so serious, yet decide to not take all the other things so serious. Like great you figure out alot of people don't like working, would prefer to do something else. But how else would you function as a society. And yes I agree materialism doesn't bring happiness, you yourself do, but there are plenty of people that are happy enough being materialistic their whole life. What does it matter if inner and outer happiness both work?

Thoughtfully speechless as I watch this. Terence is still as impressive and mind blowing to me as he was in 1997 as a junior in high school. Still have my copy of True Hallucinations I poured over back then. A few short years later, I was exploring his timewave zero page on the web...the days of AOL still....and his email was listed, which I, of course, used. I have never been so surprised as I was the day I got a response to my email from Terence! I ended up communicating with him a couple times, just as a fan, and a seeker of knowledge and understanding of this strange existence. I wish I still had them, but starting over in life is something I have had to endure too many times to have held on to much....somehow, not really sure how it's even possible, considering my last 25 years, but I'll always be grateful for him and the way he's spurred my imagination and creativity. Sending love to all ya out there who found themselves here, right now.

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them again, either. I wish there was a good, organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

I'm quite the McKenna fan, and had fallen under the erroneous perception that I already understood his wrap, courted and curtsied his wildest ideas, and essentially exhausted the entire Terence experience. How wrong I was. This beautifully crafted documentary has allowed Terence McKenna to make of my imagination yet again a blushing naive maiden.

@@randyortonsdickbulge We can still talk to these people through dreams and such. The spirit of the creator is what makes us who we are and the creator has an infinite log of everyone who has ever lived. Terrance knew that shrooms were a door to interacting with the universe aka the creator force. Thats why most of us learn great things when we take shrooms. I am always protected any time I interact with an unseen force or "entity" during any kind of trip. We were all put here for a purpose, and Terrance's purpose was to spread us this knowledge. I even posted a comment here. You can look for it. Cheers.

Terence McKenna is the most eloquent speaker I have been fortunate enough to encounter. Despite how much I love this content, I believe thinking too deeply about topics that have no answers, as Terence says; «nobody knows», is the best one way ticket to feeling socially alienated from friends and family. Everyday practicality fluds the cortex of most people, and deep thinking (which i believe psychedelic experiences to be) breaks the dam. Thread carefully friends, knowledge is wonderful and dangerous at the same time. Take it easy, but, take it. (Edited a spelling mistake, not my native language)

Blyden I think less than total alienation, since the Green Wave of Cannabis is breaking through old taboos, around the world. Look at Portugal, with the legalization of ALL drugs, and they're still afloat. Magic Mushrooms is legal in Denver, Colorado, and Oregon, I believe. These plants sell themselves, because they open us up to the kind of joyous mindset we lived in as children -- open, and free. But they COULD also be used, consciously, in a totally different way--as spiritual sacraments, when paired with spiritual practices, like meditation, dream work, and the like. THAT would be boundary dissolving and revolutionary, helping us to see what is possible in the UN-stoned state. These substances COULD help us to become AWARE OF the psychological chains that certain poisonous cultural beliefs and ways have locked us into. For instance--racism would disappear, once all people realize they are literally spirit-beings, basically independent of our mortal coils. We can have these experiences while STRAIGHT as well. Imagine THAT.

Listening to Terence makes me feel closer to myself but at the same time I feel so distant to everyone I know, I don't know what's going on with me, all I can say is that when the path of the seeker of knowledge is chosen there might be no turning back to the normal world. To the editor of the video and owner/owners of this channel I must say THANK YOU VERY MUCH, this video almost made me cry, I have never seen such magic such powerful combination of soundtrack and video plus Terence voice it's something amazing it's resounding. Thank you very much guys and keep them coming please!

My psychedelic trips are more of a mental high than a body high. Every time I’m in a good one I feel that I’m an entity of light traveling through time and space accompanied by my opposite, a male entity. Sort of like yin and yang. And that is all there is, just us in this vast universe (like the Egg theory). And I keep seeing geometric figures/patterns like the Golden Ratio and Metatron’s Cube. My boyfriend says that it was all part of my imagination since I was high, but I just can’t ignore the fact that it felt too real. Just pure enlightenment.

On my last LSD trip it was like there never existed a time without LSD and I was one with the universe and my friend who was equally as high. We experienced the same trip and everything seemed to be so simple and yet so complex. I felt like my eyes could not only see but also feel and hear, I experienced the world through my eyes and lost every sense of my body. My friend kept saying if she stopped walking she would dissolve and we walked around holding hands. We were in another universe and felt connected since we experienced exacly the same things.

I've taken mushrooms and bad tripped immediately, I saw demons and red eyes staring at me (I was in pitch dark watching pink Floyd the wall) I kept asking my buddy, "Can you see him?", He had no idea what I was talking about. I saw my father with a top hat on. I felt like I was surrounded by demons and evil faces glaring at me. I went on a religious soul searching after (coming down off my trip) because I thought I was in hell. I was asking my buddy who sent him here (as if he was a spy or something and trying to destroy our society from within). Weeks later I was on the internet looking stuff up found a page that said when your in hell you see the image or form of your father (which I did when I was Tripping out) since I was in this "hell". It really tripped me out and I thought there really is such a thing as God and the devil because when I was in this hell of a trip I saw my father's face/image, but I didn't not know that would happen to people when they go to hell until weeks AFTER I already tripped...I dunno if I'm ever the same after, I think I've changed though because I'm an atheist again lol Big take from it all those is that the drugs make you delusional. You aren't seeing true reality. People shouldn't take their trips as untapped or unknown knowledge because it's not reality. The drugs make you think it is though....

I'm sorry, I've been looking for a psychedelic experience since I was 19, I am now 35. All and I mean every single one of my friends who happen to be white have had some sort of experience with shrooms, or lsd, or dmt, or mescaline. I was always met them after the fact because these are things you do not need to do often (apparently). And no one knows where to get it. I live in a predominately mexican and black neighborhood, and the only drugs offered take something from you, weed, coke, heroin, assortment of pills. I have absolutely no interest in those things. I have always wanted to experience my mind without my ego interfering, ego death to the 10th power. I dont understand why certain people are completely cut off from this journey, but given everything else thats not good for you physically. Listening to these videos and trying to live vicariously through others experience is really starting to hurt my feelings. This experience and journey should be for everyone.
