As crazy as this may sound, I believe Bud genuinely likes Errol as a person and my theory is after the 2nd knock down, he didn't go big game hunting as we're accustomed to seeing. The idea of "stubbornness" and "get back" was talked a lot about him and how it could get him in trouble with Errol, but because as I said on many other videos, he didn't have to go into 2nd/3rd or even 4th gear and we see him hit those gears if he's been tested or hurt in any fashion. He was composed, ate Errol's shots better than most of us imagined and he just stayed poised in the pocket, on the inside and my theory is he wanted to leave some meat on the bone to ensure a rematch... However, when Errol just kept attempting to come forward and lunge in, which is where he was caught with vicous uppercut and short hooks to the head, Bud eventually took him out. You saw during the fight, I believe it was the 7th round, when it ended, Bud kind of tapped him in good sportsmanship and I thought that was weird for Bud because he's a NO MERCY kind of guy between those ropes. I believe he could've gotten him out of their before the 5th, but again, he showed mercy. The only other fighter he showed similar respect or endearment toward was Shawn, until someone told him he was down on the cards and he finished Shawn. IF there is a rematch, I believe it will be more of the same, probably even worse....unless he changes trainers, which this late into his career wouldn't be helpful or Derrick adds another co-head to help him. My $.2 cents 🙏🏿

Exactly! Crawford most definately could have finished it much earlier with a knock out, but looked to savor the moment, show a little mercy on Spence, and just went to cruise mode instead of vicious mean KO mode. He didn't hit him hard enough deliberately to not knock him out. He likes Spence.

Naw I think we looking at this the wrong way. Errol paid for the disrespect. Errol and his team made comments about Buds mama, family, training staff, and said they would Break Buds will. Crawford wanted to punish and beat the will out of Errol. Spence will never be the same and I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes at least 2 years off.

Yeah 100% agree with everything you said, I’ve noticed him taking it easy on Shawn from the opening rounds and wasn’t looking to hurt Shawn but at the same time I give credit to Shawn because he has always been durable due to his aggressiveness and preparation on top of the skills he developed mid-career… I saw compassion in bud in the middle rounds for spence when it was time to end it but he didn’t want to permanently damage spence, he wanted to let him live to fight another day or give him a chance to make it competitive… bud was definitely more offensive in this fight than he was with Shawn. I believe Bud knows he can really hurt people so he fights according to what you bring… we are witnessing a pacquiao like type of growth into the higher weigh classes, truly amazing to witness… what mayweather could’ve been if his hands were not messed up from mileage and training… Bud is a rare specimen and we have to crown this dude regardless of his reserved demeanor and background, he is something truly special and rare, the mayweather we wanted vs pacquiao. Charlo is a better boxer than Errol and comes with amazing power as well but Bud’s hand speed and footwork plus power will be a lot to deal with … Errol is still my guy, very likable dude, just hard to see him coming into the ring looking odd (sleepy or confused )then never truly showing confidence all the way through, I think Bud won this fight from the weigh-in to when the ref stopped it, spence was outmatch sadly … 🙏🏾

I partially agree because of Sugar Ray moving all the way up, he's simply the greatest "boxer" ever. Just because he conquered welterweight, middleweight, light Heavyweight and Heavyweight, doesn't mean he's the greatest of each weight class, but rather that he's the "greatest" boxer, despite many calling Ali the Greatest Heavyweight of all time. I believe Bud Crawford is the greatest welterweight of this generation and top 3 welterweight of all time.

Serious question for Shawn - I watched the press conference before your fight with Crawford. Someone in the press asked Bo-mac if they had trained differently in preparation to fight you. I'm paraphrasing here, but Bo-mac said that they did, because they knew the quality of fighter they were up against. Your father replied back, essentially stating that your team always has a good camp, and that you don't need to get up for one fighter over the other. At the time, I took that to be kind of a shot at Bo-mac, but also your father's way of saying you had a good camp and were ready. So, I was really surprised by his comments after the fight and reasons for throwing in the towel. I’m watching this video, and I’m hearing you explain things from your own, honest perspective for the first time, and it makes a lot of sense to me. I’ve seen videos of your father, not necessarily talking down about Crawford, but I think it’s fair to say that he hasn’t been overly flattering either. So, here’s my question. Do you think that this is because he feels like your fight with Crawford would have gone differently if you had followed his game plan? As a follow-up, do you believe, after seeing what Crawford did to Spence (who, it sounds like, followed essentially the same game-plan your father had for you), his opinion about that will have changed? My apologies for the length, but this is something I’ve been wondering about and hoping maybe you can answer in another video. Also, I 100% agree that Showtime made a mistake not having you as a commentator. You were a great fighter, but even better analyst and commentator. You have a way of explaining the sport in terms even casual fans can understand, while at the same time not dumbing anything down for your audience. That’s a rare thing. Salute!

People aren't going to agree w/ this but I think Fulton fought much better against Inoue than Errol did against Crawford. After the first knockdown - Spence was loading up and telegraphing every punch he threw trying to get back, and it was easy pickings for Bud. He wasn't getting his head off the center line at all and didn't know wtf to do against an educated jab from southpaw. Crawford exposed Spence and his team. Fulton was actually very defensively savvy in his fight vs. Inoue and avoided/defended against attacks that are going to put a lot of people away soon, but he was still just overwhelmed in every way. Edit: Errol was basically shouting from the rooftop that he was going to throw his left had when he was countered w/ the uppercut off the ropes and when he was catch-countered with the hook in the 9th.

Y'all being youngsters, meaning Y'all being in your 30's, can't see anyone beating Floyd, but if you talk to anyone 45 and older you'll get a different option. Bud, is in fact the very type of fighter to beat a Floyd, or any other great fighter of the past and present. Now ask me why!!!

@@muganthediamondlion7506southpaws gave Floyd the most trouble. Bud has every attribute to match up with Mayweather- ring IQ, speed, power in both hands, accuracy, body punching, strength, equally fast feet, stamina, heart, and can fight inside/ midrange/ outside. That’s a legit matchup.

Been a fan of Bud since the dreads glad Errol gave him a shot to show the world he’s the real deal shoutout to Spence bounce back. But I don’t think a rematch is smart or necessary for Spence. #TeamCrawford 💪🏾💯🤝

Man I’ve been watching Crawford since he fought Prescott . I became a fan same with Spence when he fought Chris . I became a fan of both . I knew Crawford had the edge skill wise and he was gonna win . Maybe by SD or competitive UD. But I did not expect a one way beating. Just hope the best for Spence at 154
