It's raining heavily, about to be 7 in the evening,all lights switched off, peaceful darkness,we are sitting at the verandah of our house looking at the incessant rain,my dad suddenly humming this song and in no time asking me to find this song on KZread .Now we are both vibing to this song .Man a moment like this is so rare and precious, dad might be diving down into his memories of the past and me just relishing the old music and the time am spending with him . I am from a very remote village from kpk Pakistan. My father used to listen to some selected songs on a tape all the time I MEAN ALL THE TIME. Back then I was too younger to understand Urdu because I could only understand Pashto, the only thing I knew was that the singer is a female. when I was 10 I wanted to listen to all those songs and the first song I heard, in Urdu or Hindi, was HAWA Mein Orta Jaye mora laal dupatta mal mal ka. this voice was so soothing and cozy that I wanted to listen to her more songs. in 2013 my mother bought me a computer when I turned 15. since then I have been listening to her and to 50's and 60's music not only that I sing with didi songs so that I could enjoy the song more. in 2013 I took part in competitions in school and college and got the first position I took part. the ONE I am very proud of was on a district level I prepared so enthusiastically and BOOM got the first position. indeed she is the nightingale of India. I could barely know any other singer in the world than her because I rarely type any other singer name in search bar not because I hate their work but I don't want to switch to a new music era. . Now I want to listen to her all the time as my father used to.

We need a biopic on him. His real life is no less than any movie. Let's start a hashtag by demanding his biopic. All his life he was single. He had proposed to hema malini. But alas, hema chose a married,2 baccho ka baap dharmender instead of a single unmarried guy who loves her wholeheartedly. Later an actress Sulakshana Pandit who worked with him as heroine in few movies started liking him and proposed for marriage, but both of them remained unmarried. He refused to marry her as he knew he will not survive long, as a result of which Sulakshana vowed to never marry anyone and still she is single.

Absolutely! Kishore da had unique voice, quite simply the most gifted singer. His voice had such masculine power but still it retained the melody, and that's his speciality. You feel like roar of a lion with regards to the power in his voice. He simply overshadowed even the great Lata ji here. A true legend and legends never die but remain in the hearts of their fans. 🙏

Lata Mangeshkar ji is incomparable, she was, is and will be the best and this song is just another best. BUT Kishore Da starting at 4:20 is something else, is masterpiece that start is unmatchable

I used to live in Bombay in the 50's 60's 70's and early 80's and used listen to these lilting songs. I am now 69 and I live in Boston and listening to these songs on my computer.Very nostalgic. I have tears in my eyes remembering those olden days in Bombay listening to these beautiful voices of Lata, Mukesh, Kishore,Rafi etc.

You were one lucky guy to have lived in the golden era of Bombay.

There are countless instances where Kishore Kumar does not “lead” the song, but joins either in the middle or towards the end (in one case, just the last 30 seconds) but it feels like he takes over the song. This song has Lata singing at her “pure” best with all emotions and intensity and is fantastic in all aspects. But there is something totally different when Kishore joins in. He takes it to a different level all together IMO. This was something that both Lata and Asha have acknowledged - about feeling conscious around this amazing singer. One of my favorite songs that bring Lata, Kishore, RD and Gulzar together, feather in their collective cap. A true labor of love and acknowledgment of lost love.

When I was younger, I never liked this song. I used to think whats the use of writing and singing depressing sad songs, why not make the correct choices in life and be happy with someone instead. Absolutely brother. Kishore da had unique voice, quite simply fhe moat gifted singer. His voice had such power but still retained the melody, and that's his speciality. You feel like a roar of a lion with reagrds to the power in his voice. He simply overshadowed even the great Lata ji here. A true legend and legends never die but remain in the hearts of their fans. 🙏

This is a song of that era, in which people also used to be very emotional. 46 years have passed. But even today the sound of this song goes straight into the soul. What a beautiful and meaningful song. Every word of this song shakes the strings of the heart. Kishore Da and Pancham Da are no more in this world now. But Lata ji and Gulzar sahab are still there.

As long as the music world exists we can never forget the great voice of kishore kumar and latamangeshkar.lyrics and music which takes to a different world.

In indian cinema history, no doubt Best Male and Female singers were Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshwar. The only singer to hit the straight notes was none other than Kishore Kumar, even lata found it difficult to hit the notes straight , but her voice quality was far more superior then the other leading female singers. They both were unique and way ahead from the rest, thatswhy we still listen to these old gems. Both were born in the same year 1929 , that too from the same state Madhya Pradesh, Lata was born in Indore and Kishore Kumar in Khandwa. They both died in Mumbai, Maharashtra . Mother Nature holds unique key for extraordinary talents and rare gems . One Sun ( Kishore Kumar ) and one Moon ( Lata Mangeshkar)..

Today the legendary singer passes away. Your contribution to Indian music is unmatchable. She is truly the avatar of goddess Saraswati. Nobody came before you and none will. R.I.P Lata ji 😭❤
