This has always been my favorite Queen song. This was beautiful.

I love this song, Queen are the best!!!! They just kept the great songs coming!!!

Queen songs are widely being covered by various musical ensembles. This proves how much their music mean and how it goes beyond standard "popular music" boundary. They were exceptionally talented musicians, composers.

@@plutao_pt yep. All of them wrote multiple hit songs. Three of them could be and were lead singers (well one of them was light years above the other two but still…) . I think a lot of people won’t know how good their writing actually was unless they’re musicians themselves. They wrote incredible musical compositions. You sit down to start learned some of their music and you’re like “crap, this is complicated” but without really knowing how complicated it was, especially their 70’s music. People say that this kind of talent doesn’t exist anymore and that today’s music is garbage. I would almost agree with them except I know that it does. The problem isn’t a lack of talent, it’s a lack of taste in today’s culture.

@@JonBecker81 nail on the head. Add to that, record companies of today rely on a formula for guaranteed revenue. No room today for the creativity and uniqueness that was typical of Queen, especially 70’s, which followed on from what the Beatles inspired in the late 60’s.

@@JonBecker81You are absolutely correct!!! The pieces are difficult to play. One can only imagine the talent it took to perform without Auto-Tune.

Teo Torriatto is a beautiful composition.

I sang this song to my Wife at our wedding reception in 1999. I also got my butt kicked for singing it in the lunchroom in high school in 79. This is one of the greatest songs ever written. And that is saying a lot.

They didn’t like Queen at your high school? Or they were just making fun of you for singing in the lunchroom? Also, what a time to be in high school. I wish I was born 20 years earlier so I could go to all those shows back then. The best music was in the 70’s. I went to high school in the 90’s still pretty good music up until then but not like the 70’s and early 80’s.

@@JonBecker81As Queen fans we were accused of being gay. It wasn't an uncommon accusation lobbed by bullies at that time. Getting beat up for being gay was why most gay and bi people were closeted then. Including Freddie Mercury. I am not gay but try convincing a bully of that. I don't know if they actually believed it or if it was just the excuse they used to harass us. It was a different world. I do agree that we had the greatest music of any era but some things still needed work.

I sang this to my wife at our wedding reception in 2020, been my absolute favorite Queen song since I was a teenager and it means so much more to me now than I ever thought it would. Can't even sing or listen to it without getting very emotional now

With all those voices singing in perfect Harmony this song gave me chills it's so beautiful with all those voices in there...AMAZING!!

Freddie Mercury traversed all boundaries. He could do Opera, Rock and Roll, Pop, soundtrack music. His effort at Live Aid 1985 was the best of any artist. Ever. Freddie Mercury. Genius. Legend. Forever.

The translation... This is a really good song.... Brian who composed it is also amazing, Freddie who sang this, Roger and John of the rhythm section. That's why I can't hate Queen! Heck, he has nothing to dislike! This song sounds great no matter who sings it. Ah... Tears...

I love rock music and have many bands that I really like, but if I was on a deserted island with only one album/CD, it would be Queen. I’ve been a fan since 1974 whilst in college. Recently, I listened to a musician critique a Queen song. He said that out of all bands he’s critiqued, Queen is the most pleasing to the ear. He said that all of their songs are euphonious. It would be interesting to watch people’s brain MRIs while listening to Queen 🤔. I think there’s a science experiment here.

the reaction of the lovely old lady at 4:57 speaks of volume - maybe because of having a personal attachment to the song, or probably remembering the time he got hooked by Queen's songs/Freddie's voice. Either way, just goes to show how a song can be so powerful, transcends time, lives on.

it tells you in the info who she is... she was the outgoing president who had cofounded the choir and this concert was honouring her after 20 years. Teo Torriate was one of the final numbers.

the old lady crying at the end is me! amazing work, one of my favorites song at the moment and this version it's just breathtaking, i'm speechles, i love it.

Beautiful sound! Magnificent middle-eight. Each part is so clear but they also blend fittingly. Excellent work by the instrumentalists too.

Choral singer, Montreat attendee, euphonium player, and rock musician. You guys have absolutely nailed this selection! I was conducting the choir from my chair!

I am glad and proud of they use Japanese ! From Tokyo!

BRAVO!! Brought tears to my eyes!! In my top 5 Queen tunes...here I find this a few years later as the Tokyo Olympics use it for the torch lighting ceremony 💜👑

I didn't know this song was played at the Olympic. It proves that Japanese people really appreciate and love this Queen's song.

Me too 😢. My son was stationed in Okinawa for 2 yrs. We didn’t see him that whole time. I’d listen to this song and just cry. He loved Okinawa and traveled several times to the mainland He loved Japan, the people, and the culture.

This goes to show never judge a book by its cover. They were great and it sounded awesome! Props to the bass player! He nailed the Deacy sound and feel.
