What a fantastic channel you have ! I remember on an early Ober cutting a commercial track in a studio in the 80s. They hadn’t used one much and they wanted “the big bottom end.” The engineer wasn’t ready for it. I believe they replaced the studio’s woofers. 😂 I used to cut a lot of commercials, that was the only destruction I recall 🤣

So awesome. So much love for Tom Oberheim, Dave Smith and Marcus. I am so happy that Tom and Dave got together before Dave passed away. Tom and Dave were giants in the synth industry and two really good guys from all accounts. It is pure joy watching Tom play his new synth.

Great review as always! I'm getting one for sure. I was listening to the beauty shots part and my wife turned on "Little House on the Prairie". That beginning horn on the show fit in with the drum and bass groove!

Without knowing your situation look at it this way - 2 Dunkin iced coffees every day for a year cost quite a bit more than this.

Aaaand... this synth goes right to the top of my wish list! It has some really innovative design features that make me go, wow, why didn't someone think of this before, but, Oberheim is a genius.

Nice piece of gear....I just found out that many of those effects are guitar effects pedals....that you can connect most synthesizers to to get those effects as well. For those who dont already have a guitar and effects pedals, it will save you some money buying the effects pedals.

Hello Dr. Mix! Once again, wow! I have loved these synths since the OBX of the 1980's specifically, Nena "99 Red Baloons" song. Would love to see you recreate the synth parts for that song using the TEO-5. That song among others of around 1983 featured that OBX. That synth and the EMU2 were among my favorites of that day. I also thought of the Virus when you showed the Mantis last in the last video I watched.

…and gone sync with your mouth while using the flanger…🙃👍👍 I played the big ones while visiting the Synthesizerstudio Bonn back in the earlier days, but never own one. What a honour to meet Tom Oberheim himself 🙏

Amazing Claudio! This synthesizer reminds me of the original Doctor Who Television Show theme on BBC. Perhaps you could do an analysis on it, or recreate it. Maybe try a theme from the 80's. :)
