    Thank you so much for the demo! I bought one online before I viewed your tutorial and I like your idea better. I actually feel the bungee cord is too short for me with the one I bought. I would be willing to create what you did but with a chord twice as long and maybe a ten pound weight as I feel I can hit the ball harder and have more reaction time mimicing a true really with an opposing high level player. Thank you so much! Greatly appreciated! Please keep the videos coming! Very helpful!

    Great idea on the tie wrap! I just bought a similar one for $10.69 at Walmart that you fill base with water. Ball had threads stitched with elastic cord attached. First day the cord broke off. I was able to reattach it until the ball went flying off into a filled dumpster. So now I will do your tie wrap trick on a new tennis ball.

    Thank you for the tutorial, here are just a few things I noticed when building it. My cable tie broke and the ball went to the moon :D I think it was too small and therefore too weak, so keep in mind to use a rather big one as shown! It worked best for me to make two holes that are very close to each other and also very close to the surface of the ball, so I was able to put the cord through the ball directly and didn't need a cable tie. The pressure of the ball was lost but it did not affect the bounce of it too much.

    EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!! I already have two Tourna Fill-and-Drill trainers; substituting a bungee cord is a GREAT idea (which I'm definitely going to do, so thanks)...these trainers are good for beginners, but you need to hit perfectly to maintain your stroke since these devices can train you to hit "high". But, if you can't get on-court, get to a wall, or afford a rebounder and you actually want to hit a ball, this will do in a pinch--and honestly, this Make it or Break It device is MUCH better than the ones you can purchase from Amazon. Though some are priced at below 10 bucks. Great Video. Loved it.

    Fishing line works too. Average ball impact endured is around 126 newtons, approximate 28 pound force. So any line for over 30 pound is strong enough. Monofilament may be better than braided line, allowing a little stretch of ball bounding emulates better, and transparent lines doesn’t distract.

    Do you think the 1/8 cord is too heavy and not elastic enough, would you think 1/16 cord is too skinny and break? I noticed when you hit the ball, the rebound was really quick and you didn't have enough time to hit the next shot.

  • @MakeItorBreakItNow

    @MakeItorBreakItNow

    5 жыл бұрын

    Ryan, 1/16 shock cord may work, might be worth giving it a try, it may eventually break but then you could replace it. The thing to consider is the force of the ball when it breaks, don't be near windows or small children. The commercial versions use almost rubber bands and feedback I've seen on store sites is they don't last long. The bounce back on the 1/16 cord would likely be slower, good point.
