TENNIS RACQUET GURU ROMAN PROKES TALKS EQUIPMENT WITH CRAIG SHAPIRO

Спорт

Roman Prokes is the most accomplished racquet technician in the sport. He is the longtime master of arms for Agassi, and he recently consulted with Novak Djokovic on a racquet change. For the past 20 years he has been the racquet technician for US Davis Cup Team. This is the tennis equipment special of 2020. I interviewed Roman at his laboratory on 51st street in New York City.

My stock Ncode 95 six one weighs 348g strung. My favorite racket is the Ultra Tour 97 v2 that I added weight to, weighs 353g 7-8HL, but I have big Popeye forearms. The control and sweet spot reward you get from this ultra tour is Gangbusters!

I can only concur with the benefits of a lighter racquet. I am 51 years old, play around 4.5, and like a classic, soft, thin beam racquet. Played with the Prince Phantom 93P for a couple of years, love the feel, but found it really too tiring after a set of singles. I have since then switched to an Angell TC95 16x19 weighting at 310g, and find if far more manageable over the course of a game.

Exactly where I am at. The 93p is incredibly comfortable and my favourite racquet to play with, but too tiring. I switched to the 97p. My brother's Angell Custom 95 is my second racquet of choice.

I know Djokovic was using a Wilson pro stock H22 which is the current blade pro but what were the actual specs he was using with this racket before he made the switch back to Head. Were they the same as his Head racquet or different?
