Hello and welcome to my little Portuguese farm!

For a long time, this pile of rubble has been next to the farm's main gate, cluttering the walkway around the stone wall. Today, I decided to remove all the rubble and shift it to the side, if only to make the entrance look a bit more presentable. I also tidied up some leftover rubble and dirt from the public road new lighting post install.
Next, I went around picking up more stones scattered across the farm. There's a pile that's been here for almost a decade. My father collected these stones to use as a foundation for the garage's concrete floor. These are leftovers from that project.
I also collected more stones from the top field. This area of the farm is very stony, and digging a hole often reveals more rocks. I filled the whellbarrow just from this small patch near the pine trees.
In another field bellow, I also found big stones just lying beneath the surface. I asked my mother if there had ever been a stone wall here, but she said no, so I'm not sure why there are so many here...
You might notice that I prefer to use my feet to make the first approach to the stones. That's because I feel more secure this way in case I encounter a scorpion, a centipede, or a nasty fluffy spider...
I also use this space where I gather the stones to store the farm's old material leftovers, so I can use them in the future if needed.
And what about the old coops? Well, I continue removing the old materials and debris. This will continue to take quite some time, but little by little, the space is becoming cleaner and ready for future projects. Look how Nature is already taking over! That's the magic of old stone constructions. They truly blend with Nature.
In the late afternoon, I managed to do some upkeep in the flower garden, adding more pine bark (the cats and even the foxes like to dig in it) and removing some unwanted weeds. I also took some of the collected stones and placed them around this plant to give it a better look.
And time flies when you're busy on the farm! It's time to put away the tools, have supper, and rest.
