I played Striker, 3-Demon, Zaxxon, Paratrooper and Bouncing Babies back in the day. I remember thinking back in the day, so disappointed, that the title was reflective of a game I knew very well in the arcade, and yet in the ‘home version’ is was nothing like the arcade. Now in my 50’s, I deliberately seek out these versions of the game because it’s what we had at the time. And that’s what gives me the most feeling of nostalgia. So weird. Thanks for putting the video together!
Alley cat?

Great video. Thx for putting together
Lode Runner & Zaxxon was so much fun back then!
Digger! My favourite from that era
3:02 There was a contest on this game and world record was held by playing the game for more than 16 hours! 3:13 the game finishes with JS Bach's Tokkata & Fugue

And Digger uses the old Moog synthesizer song "Popcorn" as done by Gershon Kingsley in 1969 but made famous by Hot Butter in 1972.
Digger and Zaxxon were great!
Lombard Rally is a 80's CGA game which is pretty amazing...
digger is a masterpiece, and arkanoid was awesome too
I LOVE THE BLACKPIN INTRO XD
Wow, I remember those old CGA versions of Bouncing Babies, Tapper, and Paratrooper on my dad's computer way back in the day!
From myself, I would also note the King of Chicago. And so the video is cool, thank you!
I used to play Striker back in the day- on a 3270 PC which was a special version of the 5160 with extended keyboard and a PGA graphics card with 3270 character ROMs. That means we were a bit spoiled having a colour display with high-resolution text to rival a monochrome display. We bought it from a friend who purchased a whole bunch of computers from a local university around 1991-92.

Alley cat!
Load Runner the best in this bunch. Legendary game.
Let's agree that we don't have the same idea of fun. I grew up in the 70's and 80's, played all of these games on very early PC's (286/386) as well as Atari 800 and ST series computers. It's fun to be nostalgic from time to time, but as a PC gamer today, you couldn't pay me enough to go back. (Unless I can be that age again and choose a different career path.)
0:15 striker was also very similar to another cga game called spellcopter long time ago, you had to find/pick up letters and bring them back home and spell them
Love it cga monochrome, apple ii monochrome games good memories ✌️
3:41:It is gratifying that the company that made it works to this day!
Well first of all the first Prince Of Persia ran on CGA. It was totally incredible. Amongst the best games I've played on my computer was Metal Mutant though

Metal Mutant - remember it, it was very popular when 286 was a thing)
Wooooowwwww thank you!!! My childhood!
I'd recommend Life and Death. I can't think of a better CGA-only DOS experience.
J-Bird 1983 - addictive
Nibbles, Telengaard, Sokoban, Alley Cat, Boulder Dash, Night Fire, Pengo, Tetris..... Else good list...
Sopwith?

That’s awesome.
Wot no Alley Cat?!
That last one is totally still playable today
Another two great games are Big Top and Dino Eggs. They may be hard to find though.
How could have missed Alley Cat and Prince of Persia ?
wow good games~
Yep, I'm that old
Well, I'm pretty sure that there would still be Doom without 3 Demon...
I miss Test Drive though 🙂
Ya. Taper and Digger. Like from me.
The last game reminds me Boulder Dash from amiga.
You forgot the alley cat
what happened to Keen and Bumpy
The footage of Tapper has incorrect colors, on original CGA it should show cyan, red, white and black.
These are quite interesting from a historical point of view, in the same way as hoops, shove ha'penny and the ball-and-cup. I grew up with these types of games (I had the English made ZX Spectrum) but modern consoles and computers really are much, much better, and they will also be junk at some point. Nostalgia is fun, but can get stifling.
Where is sokoban??
🙋♂💗👍👍

Lode Runner ... Literally Lode Runner from the Apple ][ computer
sokoban
pc quality back then was way too bad wrt Atari/Amiga. Sound was terrible. So why not simply buy a vintage Vectrex?
И все были графически слабее чем игры на ZX Spectrum.
How can you play any game with this horrible sound?

In the early 80s it's not like you had choice. Until the C64 and NES came out, if you wanted sound, you went to the arcade.
