    One thing Im wondering, then I swear ill try to have more positive things to say in future comments, is how much will the reduction in quality in the polyfoam support and transition layers on tempurs effect the overall reliability. Ive read that they used to include 2.2lb foam for these layers in their beds, but now its all only 1.6lb poly. To me when youre sending upwards of $5k on some of these Tempur beds, to only have 1.6lb poly is kind of cheaping out on the customer. I do realize it's usually the comfort layers which go out on you first, and they still mostly use very high quality 4.8-5.5lb memory foam there with the exception of their entry level line of beds. I wonder if this is something where they just felt like 1.6lb poly is good enough to outlast the comfort layer. I actually like Tempur as a bed, just feel they are a bit overpriced and at that price point their customers deserve the highest quality foams.

    Hey there! We've discussed these models internally, but haven't seen them firsthand. In our opinion, these look very similar to the Adapt line, though there are a few things in the stated specs that are a bit confusing to us. As a result, we generally feel more comfortable recommending the Adapt models.

  • @zhzh-bq2po
    @zhzh-bq2poАй бұрын

    Hello! Regarding the newly added 5-zone support layer in the LuxeAdapt mattress, is it symmetrical from head to toe? I noticed one diagram showing its core positioned in the center, which is relatively firm and supports the hip area. However, another diagram indicates that the hips are placed in a softer region. These two diagrams seem contradictory. If the mattress is symmetrical and interchangeable, it should align with the first scenario.

  • @goodbed

    @goodbed

    Ай бұрын

    This is something we noticed as well. You have a very good eye! So we believe this is a symmetrical five-zone poly foam layer in the style of most five-zone mattress layers -- ie, with the center zone positioned in the middle of the mattress and squarely under a person's hips. The one image showing otherwise is likely to be a mistake, in our opinion. With regards to your other question - this version is very near to the last generation, but with the addition of this five-zone poly foam layer to allow for additional conformance and support.

    This a great video but I'm hoping you can guide me a bit here... Found a mattress store that is selling the pro adapt soft mattress for 50 percent off the floor model to make room for the pro adapt 2.0 line ... No one else around is offering this deal. Is there, in your opinion enough of a difference between the pro adapt soft and the pro adapt soft 2.0 to just wait for the new line? Nobody has the 2.0 on the floor to even compare the difference... I would be saving almost $3000 to buy the floor model but if there is enough of a difference I would wait for the new line... What are your thoughts?

  • @goodbed

    @goodbed

    2 ай бұрын

    Hi Michael -- There may be a few things to factor in here: 1. The difference between 1.0 and 2.0 2. The difference between a floor model and a new model 3. The difference in the return policy for the floor model vs a new model 4. The difference in warranty support for the floor model vs a new model IMHO, #1 is not enough to pay an extra $3,000. However, #2 could be very significant, and in many cases would be worth an extra $3,000 on its own. And of course, #3 and #4 are also relevant factors to consider, since floor models typically don't have any kind of return policy, and may or may not even come with a normal warranty. I hope that's helpful.

    Do you know of any high density foam mattresses that would give you a similar feel to the TP but at a fraction of the cost? I know it can never be the same, but there has to be one that is similar right? We tried Helix Sunset, that foam felt similar to latex and it seems like most of those online companies have that kind of foam. We did get a chance to lay on a MLily Supreme hybrid and it seems pretty close. Would you agree and would you have any other recommendations?

    So this is a question we get a lot. Off the top of my head, there's not much that's widely available that has the same slow-responding, dense feel of a Tempur-Pedic. You could try some of the Beautyrest Black Hybrids in Medium and Firm (and these will also be updated soon), but there's not much else that comes to mind on a national level. Alternatively, you could also take a look at our new filtered search on our website. • @goodbed

    Hey great question! Memory foam tends to be an exceptional material with regards to pressure relief, and even firm memory foam can still do an excellent job of relieving pressure. That said, pressure relief is a complicated thing, and not everyone likes the feel of firm memory foam. As such, we'd recommend giving these a try in person if you can. Does that make sense? • @goodbed

    Generally speaking, stomach sleepers do best with a mattress in the medium to firm range. However, sometimes softer options can still work for this depending on their construction. We'd feel most comfortable recommending the Medium options. The Medium all-foam models are also a tiny bit firmer than the Hybrids, and might be worth looking at for this reason.

    Always the best bed reviews, nice job! This is the first change they have made to their mattresses ( non-breeze) in 5-6 years. I am so disappointed and underwhelmed. They literally put the same product back out with adding a hybrid, which should’ve always been there in the luxe line. An adding a new layer of foam in pro adapt and up are the only changes of note. A very uninspiring, apathetic effort from Sealy-Tempur.

  • @goodbed

    @goodbed

    2 ай бұрын

    Hey there! We can understand some frustration here (sometimes "new" is very exciting and it can be disappointing when a new release doesn't look so new), but we'd also make the point that there are some distinctly new things in these models. Here's a quick list. 1. There have been some subtle tweaks to existing foams to improve pressure relief and diminish heat retention. 2. There is a relatively new foam in the Hybrid Material. We first saw this on last year's Breeze update, and it's now being used more broadly on select hybrid models. 3. The LuxeAdapt Hybrid has a unique coil-on-coil design that's distinctly different from the Adapt and ProAdapt Hybrids. 4. The LuxeAdapt Soft and Firm now also have a zoned transition foam to allow for a little more conformance and support. So there've been a few subtle changes to the Adapt and ProAdapt models and a few major ones to the LuxeAdapt line. You should be able to read more about these in our written overviews linked above. I hope that's helpful.

    @@goodbed I get it that they improved on some cooling features by using vented Tempur foam on the pro adapt/ lux adapt, also by adding hybrid to the luxeadapt this time around. But what I’m disappointed about is that Tempur-pedic is not disclosing what kind of foams was they using now. They’ve gone away from the terms like Tempur-HD or Tempur-ES for “Tempur material”. Not real transparent if I’m being honest. As much as I appreciate the cooling features they add to this line of mattresses, but I believe using lower density foams is a big draw back for Tempur, I know the previous Contour/Rhapsody line used higher densities in their foams

    @@johnb7411Yep, it is a bit confusing. And we understand that "Tempur Material" can sound a bit vague. Tempur-APR is also now just "Advanced Relief Material." That said, we've not seen a significant decrease in quality or density on their memory foam relative to last generation. Most of their memory foam still meet our standards for HD and UHD foam. The only possible exception there would be the previously mentioned Tempur-ES Material, which we suspect is probably a slightly lower density to allow for surface softness.
