Excerpted from Pink Martini's virtual 2020 New Year's Eve concert, filmed at Pink Martini World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, and broadcast on December 31, 2020. Pink Martini's arrangement of "Tempo perdido" was originally heard on the band's third album, Hey Eugene! The song was written in Portuguese by the Brazilian musician and composer Ataulfo Alves, and was originally sung in 1934 by the superstar Carmen Miranda. This version features Thomas Lauderdale on the piano, China Forbes on vocals, Gavin Bondy on trumpet, with a trombone solo by Robert Taylor.
