    Another video from you, nice! Seems like the CNC does a good job, I want to build myself a smaller one but unfortunately I don't have enough space even for this. Keep the good work up!

    Glad to see that cnc is kicking out good stuff!!! I have a tool set I'm working on for compound radius fretboards... I'd like to send you a set and see what you think... It will be about another month until I have the final version ready.

    Great work here, and well thought out templates. How are you finding the X-Carve? I was planning on picking one up for the workshop - to cut templates/pick guards/body outlines etc. I'd heard that the 1000x1000mm version suffered from droop in the center of the gantry, effecting Z axis accuracy. Have you noticed this? I had planned to reduce the width of the Y axis to 500mm in any case, to make the thing fit in my workshop, which would effectively stiffen up the gantry. Do you think it's a reliable tool?

    Glad your back! Love your workmanship! Might I suggest including a neck "side" template as well in your kits, and definitely a LP style in addition to the S & T styles would be awesome! Cheers!

    Excellent! I think you could make a holes on the neck pocket template in the same place like pickguard holes. For fixing it on body by screws. I think it would be precisely.

    Do you do custom shape templates? I have a guitar idea I want to build, it's not an existing shape but one of my own design, would I be able to send you something like a DXF file of the shapes I'd need then you can cut them out for me on your CNC machine?

    Excellent work. I really like the small inserts to separate different depths of cuts. That really helps minimize on extra unneeded templates.

    How would you do this without a CNC machine?

  • @rumbachumba330

    @rumbachumba330

    well first you'd need to trace out or draw your design to scale on paper, or if you know how, design it on your computer much like architects CAD files, get it printed, then stick the paper on some MDF and use whatever tools you have available to get the MDF to shape, like a jigsaw, files, sandpaper etc. If there's any spots that need smoothing do it on the template, MDF is easier to work with than hard woods. Sorry it took so long to reply.

    Hi David, what speed are you running your dewalt spindle when cutting hard woods? And what is your typical IPM/ depth of cut? Thanks.

    +Lee Carmichael Hi Lee, I usually cut @ between setting 3 and 4 - I manually adjust as I cut some scrap to fine tune it. The speed I cut @ 1800mm/min and 3.175mm DOC for soft woods and 2mm for hard woods
