I tell you what, I'm putting together my own Crusader armor setup. And the toughest part to date is finding the correct boots for it, and I understand why you decided to make the surcoat yourself, because I haven't found one online that is worth buying, even the more expensive ones are a disappointment.

Yeah, the surcoats online look like bedsheets ... there's no substance to them. The next video will be about the boots. I bought 3 pair before finding one somewhat suitable. Video should be out in a couple weeks. I'll include links to where I bought each pair. The boots in this video are the first pair I bought, but I decided they're too much Renaissance period and not 13th-century military enough.

@@crittermccree8925 mind doing me a favor? Can you consider making a video showing how to make clothing look worn? So it doesn't all look brand new. I'm not saying to do it with your crusader gear, but give ideas on how to do it with other stuff. I always wonder how they do that in the movies and TV shows. Make something look worn but still very visually appealing.

@@yearight1205 I'll see what I can do. I've never actually distressed clothing before. I did age a pair of cowboy boots by dragging my feet through pea gravel. It scuffed uop the finish and got 'em pretty dusty. May do the same with my Templar boots.

your half right, the shoulder armor you have, was labeled at pauldrons in the amazon store, but those are spaulders, the pauldrons where primarily for mounted combat, as you don't have nearly as good of a range of motion in pauldrons, they cover the entire shoulder from your chest to your back not just your shoulder, i personally need to get a pair of spaulders for my armor set, since the pauldrons i have restrict movement ridiculously, nice unboxing though

Hey Hairy - sorry to hear about the problems with the gorget. I did a lot of shopping around before deciding on the one that I ended up with. Did you buy the same one I listed in the description? I realize it's a little plain looking, but it will be largely covered by the coif anyways. As for the fit, you could probably fabricate longer straps unless it's the diameter that's too small. I stand 6' (183 cm) at 270 lbs (19 stone and 4), so I'm a bit above average fit.
