I think they're hoping he dies or straight up loses the election first. I mean they KNOW how corrupt Trump is. If they rule against him, and he's somehow elected again, he'd probably try to tear down the justice system entirely. Which wouldn't work, there are way too many checks and balances. But consider that in his first 4 years he simply got nothing done because all he did was play golf. If he gets 4 more years, he wouldn't be doing nothing, he'd be lashing out like a crazy toddler throwing dishes, and the administration would be spending the next 4 years doing nothing but damage control. Not only accomplishing nothing, but dragging us back decades.

yes but let's also give the people the ability to vote on those in scotus and take away the presidents ability to appoint judges. this is how "we the people" start to take our power back. we can't just sit back and vote and believe that all promise made during campaigning will be kept. we tend to forget that money gets things done and most of Americans are not millionaires or billionaires or even big corporations with money to donate _ to influence the changes we want, changes we need. there needs to be a limit on political donations as I said most Americans don't have the kind of money to influence the president or other politicians in our favor. and if millionaires, billionaires and big corporations can influence the president on certain issues and in their favor. wouldn't that be considered bribery. love how america sees donations to party affiliation as donation a definition for legal bribery.

I am not a US citizen and so I don't fully understand the rules. However, it seems to me that some US Supreme Court 'justices' are bringing the US Supreme Court into disrepute.

The question of Presidential Immunity met the criteria for an expedited case. When it came to Nixon, SCOTUS acted within a week or two if I remember correctly. This is an intentional slow-walk by SCOTUS. There was no reason for it NOT to be an expedited case. It's perhaps one of the most important rulings that SCOTUS will make since its inception.

Just remember that every bit of immunity they remove from trump will also be removed from every other president. Joe has made something like 140 million in the last 12 years on a salary of $284,600. I would be very very careful what you wish for, even your lord and savior Obama has some of the worst finances available. Even in the oral arguments the justices were discussing how many of these immunities would effect Obama's drone strikes. Be very very careful what you wish for going down this road will lead to a complete gridlock of politics as both sides resort to endless lawfare.

It would be insane for the Supreme Court...at any time...left leaning or right leaning...to say, "Yeah, the President any and all crimes, or even some crimes and be immune from prosecution." That alone opens up a HUGE kettle of fish - if he can commit some crimes - do you have a list of them - gonna go through every crime on the books and decide what he can commit and what he can't - what crimes can he commit...what crimes can't he commit...and on some, is it going to be, "Gee, this is a grey area, let's hear arguments on those cases." No where in the Constitution does it say the President can commit any crimes. Even the fact that he can be impeached for "high crimes and misdemeanors" - a misdemeanor is a pretty low level of crime - the reason they put that in there was because they want someone who is our President to be squeaky clean and NEVER above the law. Bottom line - Trump said Presidents should have ABSOLUTE immunity - and that is what they should be deciding - "Well, he killed Melania when he was President because she was getting to old looking - can't prosecute him on that - We decide a case against him and he is sending Seal Team 6 to assassinate us - can't prosecute him for...HEY??!!"

Can the attorneys arguing against immunity in front of the Supreme Court offer the justices own statements as evidence? Meaning what they all said in their confirmation hearings that nobody is above the law, not even the president. Can they enter the video or transcripts of the statements into evidence in this process?

The Duo-plorables in the Supreme Court, what are we to do to make them heed to the ethical and moral standards set by the Rule of Law in the U.S. Constitution which they took oath to protect.

Is the Supreme Court required to make a decision before they take their summer vacation or can they be more like Judge Cannon and never really hear the case?

These are some of the problems that make it necessary for legislation to enact term limits for the Supreme Court. They have a problem ruling impartially.

As a woman justice it must be so frustrating to have these men as your colleagues..

I think the saddest part about the end of this clip is that she and apparently the majority of people following this case the the most likely outcome is not the one that is most in line with the law, but the one that favors the defendant the most and hard the American people the most.

Imagine that someone has been arrested for robbing a bank, but instead of putting him on trial, the judge would give him the opportunity to rob the bank for a second time by delaying the start of the trial.

Presidential immunity will be decided tomorrow, hours before the debate (get the meaning).
