There was so much info shared, that I think at some point opponent's brain started to filter it out as white noise.

yeah, Harstem forgets talking/listening while playing is a separate skill that most people haven't even practiced. Also noticed that in his coaching videos. He's not giving the guy time to process the info and act on it.

yeah, using the maphack mod would've been more useful as you get just the info you need and when you want it.

Hillerious video
nothing more intimidating than the guy who is telling you information saying "this is not an army I'm afraid of at all"
Best line was "I started to suspect that you might be hacking" 😂
Not only does Harstem tell him what he does, but also any other information that could help him win. Including tipps what to do. Strong Harstem, very strong.

"I think you shouldn't continue pushing here, at least for now" "I'm not afraid of this fight." "I really liked that move with the liberator and I respect you as a player even more than I did before."
Harstem only played this game this afternoon, but he's so eager to flex it it doesn't even get an intro 😂
It’s interesting, at first when not many things are going on I’m sure the information is dead helpful. Once things start speeding up and you are just non-stop mic spamming with info however, I feel like it just causes decision paralysis for your opponent. Not only that, but it also tends to make your opponent only think reactively, and prevents them or at least makes it difficult for them to create offensive strategies of their own. Really cool concept, I greatly enjoyed this one!
7:06 "I spotted your army. My observer is to the north of your army right now" - *Immediately loses it* LOL you absolute double agent! such a traitor to the Obz. :D
Not sure if you verbalise more info in this video then your usual ladder videos, but I really really like how you laid out your thought process right down to Gate and unit numbers. Helps a noob like me have an idea of what you're thinking and why you're doing what you're doing. Defos would love this kind of narration. Love this, Captain. Many thanks
Challenge idea: Play two SC2 ladder matches at the same time.

@NinjadoPantanoPlays not worth any risk if you participate in tournaments Same reason he will never install a hack to see how it works as someone suggested.
Is this flexing? Surely this counts as pure flexing, right?

Pretty sure the definition of a flex is just a URL to this video.
Now do it with your opponent also telling you everything he is doing. The Chaos that creates could be a lot of fun :D

Do this with another SC2 pro of similar skill lol
This is a great idea. But I think many opponents would get overehelmed and would get afraid to do anything. So much info coming your way lol Really cool watch
7:44 that was actually so wholesome to hear good sportsmanship and the exact opposite of nowadays trash talk online community gg
Probably my first time hearing someone say my bad for keeping their adept alive 🤣
This would actually be way more entertaining to watch if there was an observer in the privat match that is in a call with Harstem's opponent, calling him out anything he asks questions about. Also that way Harstem can focus 100% without having to talk or to listen to anything, and his opponent can choose the exact information he likes in the moment. And i am sure the reaction out of Harstem would be more fun because it's kinda hilarious if someone magically finds every opening into your bases for drops or runbys and pretty much always is ready for any kind of move out or runby that comes from yourself 😄 Also i wonder how Harstem would perform in an Archon 1vs(xyz amount) Grandmasters Matchup like Reynor does sometimes to prepare for big events.

The observer couldn't report the most important information: Harstem's current emotional state
I start to wonder if this is even an advantage, having Harstem talk in your ear all game :P "I'm sending workers to my gas" Like bruv XD
I wish I was able to talk as much about my feelings to my therapist, to the extend Harstem is able to talk about his SC2 actions to his opponent.
The worst possible backseatgaming, i would have a nervous meltdown
The verbal bombardment is making it harder for the opponent to concentrate :D
This was absolutely f'ing hilarious
"I'm starting to suspect that you might be map hacking" came out of nowhere and made me sputter. Well played.
Harstem please keep doing god's work
that is some serious skills there live commenting all your actions and still manage to play a very good game and even win it! congrats! :)
13:00 Wow disruptors are good! Info is one thing, but when your army gets instantly deleted in large chunks, it's not likely to matter after that...
"I have a weird obsession with even numbers" - I need my opponent to know this, maybe it can help him somehow.
"i am starting to suspect you are maphacking" fantastic ^^
Holy crap! I am totally flabbergasted! Harstem is sharing EVERYTHING he does, and still wins vs another GM. The skill differential is so HUGE between the pro's and other GMs. This was amazing.
"Telling my starcraft 2 opponent what he should be doing!" 8:12
14:00 "I forgot to announce this so I'm doing it again" ok this was super based
this was the most informative gameplay ive ever watched. i (think everyone) often wonder if im assessing the situation correctly; like - ok - the build is nailed, but am i right to think i can hold the tanks? be fearful of the lib? this is gold.
Damn that's a lot of info. I half expected you to start telling him your life story, too.
lol, HILARIOUS!! Do MORE of these!
I actually would love a video series where he plays his ladder games the same way, explaining literally every action and decision he makes, usually a lot of it is just assumed but I think the reasoning is interesting
There's nothing classier than dropping a "gl hf" to an opponent that you're in a voice chat with.
I really liked this. Lol
I love the little tips you're giving him aswell. Made me laugh every time
This is the funniest thing that I've seen in a loong time :D thank you!
I noticed that you often warped in units without mentioning it because you were focused on reporting army movement. I would be interested to see this run again, but without the positioning information. Basically you announce when you start buildings, upgrades, what units you are building, when you are cutting probes, but no tactical information. IE you are taking a third but don't mention which one. It think this may be easier for the opponent to parse though, and might actually lead to a closer game. But, either way I would love to see more of this concept, very entertaining!

If the main and the natural are already taken; calling out a third expo on a map like Ghost River, its not going to require specifying the location. Same applies for the callout on the unit positioning such as "Moving my army to hold strategic positions", there's literally 4 ramps. Only 2 of them being relevant to hold before the 8 minute mark while running on 3 expos. All the tactical info is given, but takes a bit more of background to graps it. Its not an insane expectation if the other player is on GM level. Now, expecting to retain and process all this info while also micro+macro-ing is the hard bit. But +1 on wanting more of this content, its damn informative to see what's going behind Hartem's big brain.
This is an amazing challenge idea! It would be really fun to mix with a uthermal 1v4 bronze challenge where you tell all 4 what you are doing.
I haven't expected this but this is good educational material. SO much thought process shared in so little time
This was actually pretty wholesome. I really liked the premise of this video. Cap'n, your content is top tier. Keep it up and I'll give you my Prime sub UwU
Absolutely sick games. Wonderful and funny. well done.
Nice and funny. Thank you Harstem!
This was a fascinating video to watch
This video made my day! 😂😂😂
Lol this was hilarious, I love it 😂
This has got to be the most chad play I have ever seen
Video idea: How about another Archon bo5 between top tier pro players? I just watched the *"ARCHON With Serral, Reynor Lambo and Elazer vs Clem, SouL, Kelazhur and Harstem (first view)"* video from 4 years ago so i thought to myself: "Why hasn*'t there been another on of these banging videos? How about: Serral, Reynor, Lambo and Elazer *vs.* MaxPax, ShoWTimE, SKillous and Harstem? or MaxPax, ShoWTimE, SKillous and Harstem *vs.* Clem, HeRoMaRinE, Spirit and Kelazhur? After that long of a time and so many changes with the balance patches and new maps etc.. I do believe it is time for some up to date archon pro battle.
it's funny that this video is actually very educational because you explain your intentions and take on the situation all the time
i love this , i know what are you doing it and why , you should make more videos like this
Not sure if you invented this hysterical handicap, but you've earned yourself a sub.
This is such a great coaching opportunity for new players :D So that they learn what to expect in real games
Nice concept🤣
This format gives me thoughts I luck while playing the game. Thx)
YES !!! this was the one BGMWSS i really wanted to see one day and its finally there ! thank you Harstem !😎
Now we're talking! This is the real stupid stuff. More mind games like this! 🤩
This is so awesome.
This was great lol
I am learning so much from this, please do this type of video again!
Finallyyyyyy! I thought id never see this challenge because Captain said earlier it was BM
Next challenge, harstem talks about his childhood traumas and tries to find peace with them while beating GM
This feels like playing with a teammate and having great one way comms.. sandbox feeling on the ladder.. nice.
Love this!🎉
Also excellent clip to show the skill difference between someone who is really good, and someone who is top twenty.
This is a cool idea
This is like if Jim Carey in Liar Liar played SC2 back then, and is like "I CAN'T LIE...!!"
I was ready for a "im going to attack you now" video. But this is literal coaching while playing against them XD
This looks like someone under hypnosis describing everything that happened to them.
I made an aeropress while listening to Harstem’s own play by play so I didn’t miss anything.
There was a Day9 daily like this a while back, love to see it!
this was interesting, knowing why you are doing things.
this was very interesting.... at some points he is definately overloading him with info, and at another point, when he tells him about pylons, he's stalling for time
YES! now do that with each race so we can have a small and quick build order by Harstem.
I feel like you telling him everything just over loaded his brain
That was hilarious
Well dear harstem, you could use the pig lab mod to enable full map vision for your opponent. Maybe try it next video!
maybe planning an aggressive proxy just outside of whatever scouting he tells you he's doing is the way to go
There was so much info shared, he cant foc doing his thing lol
I once played a game against my brother where he had forgotten that he was still sharing his screen on discord and i watched everything he was doing the whole game without him knowing, i still lost because i'm way lower mmr but it was close at least. I think sharing your screen through discord to your opponent would be a better way of doing this because then he can watch your minimap and see everything instead of having to figure out exactly where you are and what to do from what you're saying.
A variation: you get 3 lies to tell at any point during the game.
Oh I thought he was going to write it to his opponent, like a BGMWSS lol.
Hi, you should use this replay for your map hack series too.
Great game.
And now we know how the Captain is when he is sleeping 😀
I want to see more of this but next time opponent should try a proxy build that depends on exploiting asymmetric information
Like a Boss
How do one do that? Commenting while playing the game?
Reminds me of Life's games (=
Big difference between pro and GM lmao good demonstration
Waiting for the is it IMBA analysis of this match.
This is good practise for the other guy
This is just some psychological warfare😮😮
Doing this on the ladder with just occassional hints as a anon username.
Absolutely amazing. Can we get a neural chip training already so i can just implant and be protoss god ?
There has to be a way to make this work with ladder matches.
I feel like this would be harder to use than anything. It takes practice to incorporate additional information sources that you aren't used to.
Okay, that was thought provoking. You should do this more.
I think this would be better as beating grandmasters with stupid stuff. Type your overall plan and tell them when you're attacking, tell them when you get a new base etc
could you do a team game where your allies leave and you macro all your former allies stuff?
