The pond was there because the person who owned the teletubby house was getting unhappy that people kept trespassing on their property just to get a close look at the teletubby house

well that house was removed because it was made in a farm yard in 2001 the formers were very annoyed after their filming they abandoned it that it turned into a pond

Tots TV was filmed in a farm in Wimpstone, Warwickshire in 1993. Five years later, the same farm was used for the Teletubbies. Ragdoll Productions who previously commissioned the series made an agreement to Rosemary Harding that they would flood the entire set. In 2021 the Tots TV house was burnt.

When I searched up Teletubby land it showed a few locations of where it could have possibly also been filmed. One shows it in the middle of nowhere in the corner of a field (the one I'm talking about isn't the one in Wimpstone (the one in this video)). And the other is on a hill.
