Pity we don't know the work of Swift anymore, it would increase the appreciation for these exquisitely crafted Telemann pieces. The partwriting is excellent, as allways.

Very funny! But if the Lilliputians have a very fast and light Chaconne should not the Brobdingnagians dance a very slow and heavy Gigue (...according to the logic of humor)?

Oh, and by the way, number 4 should be "Reverie der Laputier, nebst ihren Aufweckern". So, it's not the Lilliputians again but the Laputians, those idiotic scientists on the flying island "Laputa" who are so busy "thinking" that they need to be hit with flappers every now and then lest they crush into lamp posts.

It's so weird that the sheet doesnt correspond to the notes that are played. It's 1 tone over

It’s always so funny that people who like to show off their “perfect pitch” also seem to have no knowledge of the fact that pitch wasn’t standardized during the Baroque, and the most commonly used pitches for authentic performance range between roughly A=390Hz to A=460Hz.

@@PunktusContrapunktum Well thanks for the explanation. I forgot about this. The thing is that I didnt want to show off, I just feel that I have a handicap to play it know

@@MJ-nf4uz There's nothing that prevents you from playing it at A440 if that's where your violins are tuned. (Gut strings and baroque bows are optional!) Telemann's duets are great repertoire for modern violinists and violin students.
