I love how, especially in the early Tekken games, Paul shows how powerful he is. The fact that he beats Heihachi in Tekken 2 but gets anti-plot armored so that he can't fight Kazuya is insane 😭😭😭😭

Fantastic video, definitely subbing, but I wanted to clarify Akuma's involvement in T7. Akuma in Tekken 7 is his own character. None of the events of Street Fighter happened in the Tekken storyline and Akuma's abilities are even different. For example, the Shun Goku Satsu(the super move that Heihachi survives) in Street Fighter murders the soul. In Tekken it's just a lot of punches which is why Heihachi survives. Basically it's a brand new character who looks like Akuma, fights like Akuma, and has the same name/voice actor as Akuma but with an entirely new story.

Also; during their encounter in ‘Tekken 7’, Heihachi questions why Akuma hadn’t faced him sooner - reflecting the fact that ‘Street Fighter X Tekken’ is non-canonical, as Akuma was the last opponent Heihachi and Kuma fought in their Arcade route.

I grew up loving tekken and I still do, just copped Tekken 8. But goodness thid franchise is goofy and i love it.

the lore of plot armors and writter dumbing down people is so so strong in this game. people seems to be enjoying it

knowing heihachi's personality , he probably calls Kuma by"bear" as in " HEY BEAR" the animal rather than its name like a pet

Small point regarding The Azazel thing since a lot of people missed this detail, only those with the devil gene can kill him, its why Kazuya in Tekken 8 is so insane in his new form. Jin did what he did because what if the generation that has the gene that Azazel is resurected in aren't strong enough to defeat him?

Ok on Heihachi defence his way of thinking is almost flawless... he pretty smart....uncreative? Yes.... but overall smart and resilient. His greatest mistake tho was attempting to murder jin tho who honestly while the fear of the devil gene was founded he could had probably morphed jin into a loyal grandson unlike his father.

I know this is made to be a sort of quick recap of the story for newcomers/people who’ve forgot/haven’t caught up yet with the story, but here are some important details that were missed in this video: -in TK2, when Kazuya became the CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu and started doing worse crimes than Heihachi, it is revealed that Devil (the entity inside his mind and basically the personification of the Devil Gene) was slowly taking over his psyche and making be like a weird human puppet. Also, Lee was employed as Kazuya’s secretary in TK2, most likely to humiliate him, lol. -The Kazama powers; one of the main reasons why Jun stayed and helped Kazuya (which then lead to them falling in love), was basically because of her psychic powers. Jun can see ghosts and feel things that most humans can’t, making her be aware of Kazuya’s Devil Gene (and therefore it slowly taking over his mind). That’s why she helps him during TK2 despite her mission of arresting him. (Also, Asuka Kazama does possess the same powers as Jun, just seemingly not as honed/powerful. No, the story never touches upon this.) -Jin’s reasons for the WW3 thing; Azazel talking to Jin telepathically IS one of the main reasons why Jin did the war, but it is also stated that Azazel would’ve (iirc) apparently woken up and destroyed the earth regardless of his actions. Not to mention that Azazel is basically the ancestor of the Devil Gene, and created the different families and clans (like the Hachijos) who possess such a power. Jin wanted to kill and destroy Azazel because he thought that if he destroyed it, then his Devil Gene would also go away. -Kazumi and Heihachi: Kazumi was sent by the Hachijo family to the Mishima estate as a young child to train with Heihachi and watch out for his actions. The Hachijo clan has always (as far as we know) killed people with bad intentions, and Heihachi was already feared to basically destroy the world. Kazumi had to kill Heihachi because of that. -Street Fighter isn’t canon to Tekken, and vice-versa. Akuma in TK7 is just- like a guy named Akuma, who sounds and acts and fights like Akuma, but who ISN’T Akuma. -Jinpachi isn’t a completely good guy. I know that he was a victim of Heihachi’s actions, but Jinpachi (iirc) DID fight alongside Japan during WW2. That is why he wanted to stop the production of weapons, because of the realization that these same weapons ended up destroying millions of lives. Also, Heihachi starved Jinpachi to death under the Honmaru. There’s probably some more stuff, but this is a pretty good video regardless.

1:55 I love how, among the things you just mentioned about Kuma, it's the fact that it is named "bear" in Japanese that baffles you. Like "okay a man adopted a bear and taught his family's martial art style, fine. But why is his name just bear?"

Tekken 2 the temple stage has the Kazumi x Heihachi under the umbrella. There's also a high possibility that Paul after his defeat with Kuma on Tekken 4, he went into training extremely and known about the 5th tournament just went there still pumped up after training and fought Kuma and got too tired to continue on. T6 High possibility Paul's ending where they planned to throw the fight into a draw is canon just to earn money which they didn't. T7 Paul did beat Panda but was ran out of the stage because of angry people and the tournament was stopped since Heihachi went missing. Overall for me Paul is always getting the short end of the stick, but he is one of the strongest characters there.

Paul has NEVER beaten Heihachi. Get that shit out of your head. In scenario campaign Heihachi flat out said only Kazuya was his equal in Tekken 1. Kazuya outright beat Paul and he could only barely match Heihachi till his anger made the Devil Gene in him fuel deeply(although he didnt truly transform) Its literally stated Heihachi was humiliated cause he lost the fight against Kazuya Heihachi had never truly lost a fight before Tekken 1 Progressing to the finals isnt linear Kazuya beat Lee and Paul and then got the right to fight Heihachi at the finals Heihachi has only lost to Mishimas,he literally said that Lars had to have been a Mishima to be able to beat him. Bodyguards arent always stronger than their boss Its still assistance and they can possibly see things coming that may catch their boss off guard. Jin wasnt the THIRD,he was and is number one. He only temporarily fell off in Tekken 8 and by the end he surpassed Kazuya who had grown stronger than ever before even in base form. Jin is the strongest human,and Angel Jin is the strongest character. Kazuya still holds the record of the strongest Devil forms however

You didn't mention Steve in Tekken 4 and his rivalry with Hworang and his relationship to Nina. As well as, Dr. Bosconovich who is a playable character in Tekken 3, and is Alisa's creator/father. This lore is insanely good for a fighting game! Kuma and Panda's relationship. Xiaoyu's relation with the Mishimas and Kazamas. Zafina and the demon Azazel. Yoshimitsu lore. Asuka and Lilli's rivalry. Not to mention; the BEST rivalry between Marshal Law and Paul... and Forest Law, I guess? ALSO, you failed to mention King's storyline which is both the saddest and the best. (all 4 of them). The two Armor Kings and the regular Kings. Eddy and Christie's lore too. You gotta go EXTRA deep on these little "very canon" stories.
