great in depth review on the current state of tekken 8, always followed the tekken series since tekken 3 but never really had the time to actually learn the mechanics. Started and stop half way in Tekken 7. Since Tekken 8 made it easier for the newcomers to start and learn, that's a plus in my book

I was mildly anticipating Tekken 8, as a long time casual fan since 3 but I haven’t played one since I was a kid. Bought 8 a week after release and in 2 weeks I have 80 hrs 😂. I’ll say it’s the most fun I’ve had in ANY game in a long time already my GOTY and yes one of the best fighting games of all time.

Invasions is trash Diehard Mortal Kombat fan I’m gettin tekken 8 soon Peacemaker is fun and all but he was never gonna save mk1. We still missing important features.

Yeah MK1 needs more things to do tbh , just felt empty after the story . Appreciate the watch !!!

My only gripe with the online is the player match lobbies. For some reason when I play with friends, the match won't load when you both are queued to press "x" to start the match. The countdown timer resets and its inconsistent when I can play wirh friends. We've all checked our connections and it's never been an issue with connection. Curious if anyone else is having this issue as I've rarely seen it discussed online.

I have the same issue with very specific people as well, people in my home town. I can't match with some of my neighbours who I used to play in Tekken 7 as well, or we get 1 bar when it used to be 5 bars. Yesterday I was getting 4 bars for a FT5 with a neighbour of mine, we came back to the lobby and the next set was 5 bars, we returned to the lobby again and it went down to 4 bars. Nothing changed besides us returning to the lobby (which I think is generally poorly designed)

Eddie hairstyle will probably have more than one with the great customization also the thot boy hairstyle people still wear it , so them putting it in a game in real life it’s still relevant example 2k and ur average mid hair joe on the street .. least I switch it up with split hair dye and even now that’s kinda common

Yea I think it's great, the best since Tekken 5, at least. But as a defensive player, I find the game's new Heat system, and how it favors pressure, to be kind of... too much. I main Ling Xiouyu and Lei Wulong, and am a more calculated player, who likes to switch stances and cause confusion, etc (Zafina is also great for this), and the new emphasis on constant aggression doesn't mesh with how I've always played. It's so aggressive, there isn't even the classic "Continue?" screen anymore to take a breath after a loss. The game just immediately freeze frames, and the options pop up. Another thing is, I like the training modes in Street Fighter 6 and MK1 better. When it comes to reversals in particular, Street Fighter will offer a small countdown before the CPU attacks, so you can perfect your timing. (To be fair, Tekken has never had this feature, but after 8 games, why not already?) I mean, if we want to start talking about "Of All Time" then let's get into the weeds and the pedantic details. Also, I'm not worried about Eddy's hair because you can literally customize it to another style anyway.

3:00 Tekken8's customization is censored and extremely lacking. Compared to Tekken 6 or even Soul Calibur 3. These bozos censored skintones on certain parts of clothing. They also pretty much censored AND Paywalled cleavage. Unless you're playing Azucena(who has the only bikini) or you use one the white girls(Lili or Nina). Unless you pay for dlc. You will never have access to a cleavage showing costumes for any Asian characters. Bonus: In the edit profile comments section in the game. They blacklisted the word "Cleavage". In several variations. Unless you misspell it. Yeah fk that store. And fk that ESG censorship.

Customization in T8 is not “free” it’s included. Big difference.

I have also jotice how everyone also goes to the customizations as one of their first topics i play both games and to be honest i dosent bother me about the customizations now mk could have better skins but it doesnt really bother me and in t8 i play azucena who doesnt rewally have any good options anyway so i jus use the basic skins...its seems some characters have beter options then others in t8

There wasnt much competition Mk1 is a complete trash fire with the playerbase absolutely huffing copium. SF6 is great but its also mainly just a fan service game for veterans,which isnt wrong,theyre catering to their audience and roping some newbies along too,and tekken just wanted to raise the bar on pretty much everything. It feels very cathartic to play the game,theres great feed back on everything that happens,every character is very unique,and they use AI in a way we haven't seen since F.E.A.R (the AI adapts to you,namely the ghosts,they learn everything you do and apply it on you.)

It has been a while since I had so much fun playing a fighting game, the last time was mk 11

I’m confused why you didn’t give it a 10 when most of the critiques were on the players not so much the game. If that’s the criteria, better not give any fighting game a 10 out of 10.

Eh, not a huge fan of Tekken or 3-D FGs in general. There doesn't seem like enough of a difference from 7 for me to shell out THAT much money for what feels like an upgraded Tekken 7 experience (could be wrong about this, but all footage just looks like 7-but-better-looking to me.) Then again, Tekken isn't exactly known for raising the bar between games. I don't care much about the superfluous modes and more about the fighting. I'll probably pick it up at some point on a discount, as I always do despite never getting fully invested into the series (though I did start at 3), but I've learned not to trust the opinions of the masses shouting "BEST FG OF ALL TIME!" Just like all of the other "BEST FG OF ALL TIMES" in the past and the future.

It's okay to not like 3D fgs in general, honestly. Your taste is your own. But I just wanna point out that Tekken 8 actually provides a lot of changes in the features of the gameplay, the biggest one since Tekken 5. It's just that 8 closely follows the overall aesthetics and format of Tekken 7, so I understand your perspective. 3D Fighting games rarely change that much in comparison to 2D games. 3D fighters are so much harder to make and therefore are more expensive due to the existence of the 3-D plane. Even with Tekken 8 having the biggest budget a fighting game has to date, they're still forced to reuse a lot of old assets, and reusing assets to save money are one of the reasons why Tekken has survived while other games of its genre died. Pretty much 3-D fighters don't change that much in comparison to 2D fighters, yeah. Instead of starting from scratch like SF and MK usually do (The T8 character models ARE made from scratch tho simply because they have the budget to), they build up on what's previously been established and then improve and/or just simply implement new things on top of it.

That was a horrible review. I stopped watching and hearing you stumblingbon words talking about the julebox. Please know what you want to say or write a script. This is a waste of peoples time.

Awful juggling simulator that barely requires any real skills, the textures are terrible, expecially the hair ones, the story mode is cringe worthy, lack of modes, no real punishment for pluggers, the stages are ok just like the music, it literally has nothing to offer, awful like 7.
