Something I've come to notice over time is that after a certain point in time, lighting and shaders seem to carry a model more than anything. I'd probably wager around the 2010s mark being a good spot for that theory to land.

@@goldekleeYou're not entirely wrong but there's more into that from real-time rendering (game) to CGI-type rendering affect both model and lighting Composition such as CC, Bloom, etc. also play part on improving the quality of graphics Still it kinda good to see older games models being modded into newer game and fits in the graphic engine the modded game used

This is so true. These character models are a decade old at this point if not slightly more but somehow they hold strong pretty well to TEKKEN 8 which is especially impressive considering it's the first Bamco fighting game in a very long time that looks graphically great.

​@@goldeklee it always has been, theres a diminishing returns if a developer only focuses on poly count dev nowadays can just use texture to put more details in a mesh without putting too many polygons and a good engine to provide shadows and lighting will make up for it
