TEKKEN 8 Ranked is Easy

Ойындар

Today in Tekken 8, I have finally reached red rank. Honestly I can go as far to say I may reach purple soon too. I have really leveled up in the past few days. All that's left to do is to master Dragunov

Insanely proud Afro. You are exactly right. Now in red ranks to progress you will need to master YOUR character. After red it will then become learning the opponents characters on a deeper level and then movement will be needed for blue. You can do it we are rooting for you brother! Love being apart of the come up. Cant wait to see the tournament Deion and Doto been at it toooo!

Basically the trick is not to focus on launching your opponent, but rather being patient and using your pokes and mixups to confuse the other guy. Mixup your timing, vary your highs, lows, mids and power crushes and when they inevitably make a mistake: you punish with what’s available to you. Sometimes this can be as easy as repeating one or two moves that just work in that fight. Other times, you get to land your full combos. You won’t always win pretty, but you’ll win 😊

Here’s a tip with drag. I know especially with tekken, don’t over think it. Know your characters strengths and weaknesses ( Drag is literally a Plus frame generator with his while running 2 and is a pressure god BUT he’s weak to sidestep right) work on his pressure and literally could make it to tenryu. Purple ranks is where it’ll test your fundamentals

I'm glad to see the improvement afro. This is also my first tekken game and I'm doing pretty well but I notice we have a similar problem when it comes to finishing off our opponents. Like if the move or combo doesn't kill I get nervous and I'm like "how are you alive?" So I then nervous and almost (and in some cases I do lose the game) lose the game. And I also need to have better counterattack options. All of this to say we have similar problems but I am glad to see the growth!

@georgejerry1545 I just watched that stream, and Seereax got demoted from Garyu 4 times 💀 and after 4 hours, he hit Garyu again and ended the stream.

Afro is just like us when we first started playing Tekken we thought reaching the highest rank was easy when you learn a string but in real match it was a reality check, keep the grind we like to see your journey to higher ranks.

@@Ttyumbra I think Afro just really hates losing, to the point that it's selling him. "Labbing" is when you spend some time learning basics, combos, etc. But that's only 10% of the game. You have to actually crank up the computer sparring partner and fight against it. That's the other 90% of a fighting game. To do it "right" , you turn it up to the hardest setting and fight. Then, decrease the difficulty until you find where you are. After that, fight until you can increase the difficulty again. Basically, just repeat that process and you'll get better. The issue is.... I can understand now, knowing a bit more about Afro, why he's reluctant to do so. I think he feels it will leave him unmotivated. I genuinely think he just doesn't want to drop the game if that happens. And that's where the real problem lies. You just can't get better at a fighting game if you throw a rager every time you get hit or lose. The only real way to get better is to analyze what you did wrong and try to do it better. That's what the lab is for, a place where you can do that without all the feelings that come with online matches but.... I honestly don't think he's even using the computer sparring at this point. Idk, I can just tell as someone who's done it - if he had, I think he'd be way better than he is now fr.

@@ren_lightfoot that's not how you lab, no good player uses the computer to practice because it's nothing like a real player. once you learn your combos and the basics you're nowhere close to being done with labbing. every time you run into a move you don't know about or a situation you want to find out about, you go straight to practice mode, find that move or set up that situation as a recording, and figure out the answer. you can also do it in the recording with the replay takeover feature. if you do it a lot, you will be in the lab between games figuring out what you just faced and pretty much every game will be an improvement for you. at higher ranks labbing is at least 50% of tekken, probably more

Also try doing a combo out of counter hits which could be helpful for you since dragonuv has a lot of moves that could go for a counter hit and also try to lessen doing ults when your health bar is very low and go for counter hits or lows or grabs. take your time. ya doin great.
