paul's coping mechanism is believing he is the strongest and that keeps him going

I don't know how much Kazuya considers him as a rival, but if it's something similar to Jin and Hwoarang I think Kazuya would be proud. In the dialogue between the two in Scenario Campaign Kazuya says that he was disappointed that "Paul is not what he used to be" as if he always expected the best from him as a fighter. Despite the difference in personalities, i believe there is a certain mutual respect between them as martial artists. I loved how happy he looks in the trailer.

The Paul trailer has almost 500k views in just 7 hours (way more if you count all the channels). The Jin trailer is already over 1 million. What a crazy time to be a Tekken fan. The franchise is the most popular it has ever been thanks to Tekken 7. I cannot wait for Tekken 8!

I think "The strongest in the universe" line was a reminisce of Tekken5 Paul after he defeated Jinpachi he is on his house punching walls then suddenly calls out aliens to fight him, maybe he defeated those aliens that's why he's saying it 😂

This new Paul have so much positive energy, love his smile, its like he is genuinely have fun fighting. My theory is that, his sponsor is hair product company, thats why new hairstyle and a lot of smiles. It's commercial for new products :D

I think his hairs like that because his tower hair gel is wearing off, it's still standing up at the roots but the rest of it has sagged down. Maybe he lost his hair product sponsor instead 😅

My theory is they will do trailers for all the already-revealed characters before EVO Japan, and EVO Japan is where we get the Jun trailer. Something similar happened back in T7 vanilla days with Kazumi. She was already in the game as a final boss since it came out March 2015, but they didn't give her a trailer until around June 2015.

This paul is more cheerful, quirky, goofy, and badass at the same time. That is the smile of a man who has some mileage in his life and truly is in the golden years of his life right now. I've always loved Paul, I hope they treat him better in his story this time!

kind of odd seeing how down to earth paul gameplay is vs jin and kazuya

His head is shaved in the back because its his normal hair, just without the product. He just kinda let's it hang like he doesn't care anymore

Paul rage art is now a 7 out of 10 with ripped sleeve, take out the "I'm the strongest in the universe" dialog and I think we'll have an 8 out of 10 lol.

This is an excellent trailer. Many were worried about him (although I still dislike the hair) but the charisma in the trailer plus the new options they gave him, made me quite interested in playing him.

everyone hating on Paul's new hair but I love it. Not the do itself but the commitment of the Tekken character design team to alter the appearances of characters as they age, grow, experience things. Paul is going through it; he isn't the same man he was in his youth. It adds another layer to story and character development that traditionally can feel hollow in a genre such as fighting games.

1:01 Paul's hair still has his normal phoenix style hair (flat top shaved sides) but the hair goes down just like in tekken 4 except its not middle part anymore

Light effects have become much less! There were a lot of flashes in the previous trailers! Looks really good here!

He really looks like he's having fun.

Maybe that delayed Deathfist after the WS4 was basically a stance mixup. He can deathfist obviously from that position but maybe he has other attacks from the stance or can just stand there and do nothing and you bluff them. Or just a delayable/able to be canceled deathfist.

Also it’s interesting to see the bound moves change direction. At first if a move hit towards the ground it was most likely a bound. Then if a move hit towards your opponent it would bound(screw). Now if a move hits toward the sky it bounds. Fun stuff.
