No dragnov was not overhyped before the nerf. He was the strongest character in the game. But the way they nerfed him was really dumb.

@@TheUnique69able he wasn't the best at anything. He was top 5 for sure maybe top 3. Like maybe if you stretch it and give it to the current best player on a good day. But Feng was always the best. Dragunov is really strong and very easy to use, but his potential is low. That's why you didn't see anyone in Evo top 8 with dragunov, or dragunov main. He is basically a 50/50 character but if you guess right, he dies. If you don't, you lose a chunk of HP and keep playing the casino. Others are just straight up bs, where you have to guess and if you guess right, it's just a -12 to -14 at best. If you guess wrong, you die. Dtagunov was kinda fair in the casino frames bs game. Now dragunov plays the exact same but on block he give away his turn every time unless he wants to bet 70% of his HP for a single D2 or df1.
