I don't like King or Dragunov for those reasons either but a tip that you'll hear from every seasoned Tekken player is to pick one character you like, preferably an easier character (Dragunov, King, Asuka, Alissa, Victor etc.) then use them to learn the game/match ups. A lot of new players won't want to jump fresh into Tekken & have their whole experience dictated by if you can hit just frames with a Mishima or if you can weave & counter with Steve when all your opponent has to do is grab you or mash.

I genuinely believe Afro can be a good player in Green/Yellow Ranks. But hes not absorbing solid fundamentals that will get him consistently to higher ranks. Hes looking for a character/moves that noob stomp, and when a challenge becomes daunting its onto the next character.......

He looks for shortcuts but quickly realises when he meets a player with fundamentals and knows what they're doing he gets washed. He literally dropped drag for king because he plateaued rather than learning his weaknesses. Even Lotus admitted the only thing getting in the way is afro himself.

Nah, you definitely gotta train hard. Mark had that anime protagonist plot armor. Dude didn't know the technical side of the game but survived on the power of 'Ignorance'. If he actually gets technical, dude is gonna have a power boost like no other

Which is a viable strat but if Dylan ever figured out how to tech grabs, he would've closed the set wayyy before Afro could comeback.

As someone who's also started learning King recently, as a beginner I felt like his combo challenges were a nice way to learn about king's grabs that catch people in the air. Back + 3 (back & X) is a good armor move Down + 2 & 4 (down + triangle & Circle) is to grab people crouching when they start ducking your throws. If they duck your throws

Afro, I feel the pain. I just got to Red and let me tell you it's pain.

Good sign seeing him come back after the stream. This man will persevere! Honestly, I think it would do him some good to take a day and find a character he really likes.

the thing with afro is that hes always looking for something crazy but simple like when Lotus told him about the shortcut for chaining kings long grab. Afro is definitely someone who is too indecisive with a character and what he wants out of them but he once he find one thing he locks to it way too much like the grabs the grabs are good but good players wont fall for those grabs alot so then he get stuck on what to do next without any knowledge of how to learn things. no hate though

In From Soft games u can get away with trial and error because the enemies ALWAYS do the same shit, but in Tekken he will get folded forever once he reaches orange/red ranks.

Been a King main since I was like 5 with Tekken 3. Welcome to the club Afro. Be prepared for people rage quitting and flaming you as you break their body and soul.

im so proud of your sucess bro, you really been fighting through your mental shiz for the longest but you still have such a loyal fanbase that really got your back

1. Back 3 is a good moce with the invuln. Really good to use to charge in and bait your enemy to attack or punish when they charge you 2. Down back 1,2 has armor and can become a grab or punch move on the additional input of 2 or 4 3. You can still do the crouching grab that dragnov had. Crouch 1,2 wirh input of 1 or 2 4. You can grab airborn enemies including durinf combos.

Man when I was teaching my friend, I told him what his fastest mid and fastest low was with his character, then we played a game called lows and mids, basically we could only use Jabs, 1 mid, and 1 low while moving so he could get more use to sticking and moving
