And Tekken 8 has "Chip damage" which makes yoshi's healing all the more dangerous, if he stalls the game for too long and just **SLURPS** his health back to win the round.

PSA to all DJ mains, his hellsweep has the most absurd mechanic where it can re tornado grounded against walls. For example you go for oki at the wall with cd,44. If they don’t tech it and stay face down feet away, they get resplat from the tornado onto the wall until they tech the spike from cd 44 or any other move

they gave him his old Tekken 3 outfit but painted blue which i think is part of it, not as many people liked the tentacle monster stuff in the last game

Not to mention his attacks that are unsafe on shield push opponents back far enough they can't get punished anyway... anything else in his kit that isn't top tier just don't use... because you won't need it anyway.

It's bc ppl deem it like this unescapable thing that has no workaround where in fact in rewards you so much when you did the right counter. The attacks that are unsafe that has high pushback has huge - frames so of course a simple 15f launcher wont do it, but its enough to punish with a long range launcher of most characters. The only thing that rule applies to is his uf3+4 1+2, which is -15 OB but has huge pushback. but again that's only in heat. He's a little bit weak to sidesteps and the only attacks you have that can deal with the SS are pokes or KND attacks, unless youre in heat for the cd1+2. People just haven't labbed him yet that much that's why it seems like there's no workaround. But ofc hes my main, I labbed him already thats why i know his weaknesses. Don't get me wrong, he is actually strong, but not like REALLY strong, that spot deserves to be on jin, jun or maybe even jack i think.

@@radxd5992 yeah it is a really good whiff punish tool. But yeah you could just respect it if they hit you with it, most people are going for 1 so you can try to jab interrupt to read them, which also floats them btw. if you eat the 1 on block, most would go for b4 as CH launch, so you could just respect that as well and just block it. Although they could also go for a hellsweep after the MC 1 if they anticipate you block b4. And if they went for MC 2 then it's -14 you steal the turn. All that being said, they could also opt to not do anything after MC. So basically its mindgames galore, but there's always a workaround.

Yoshi mains sees their character get perfect to death since tekken 2 while other characters can do a 50% health combo from any of their 34 launchers

I feel like the first match was decided when Yoshi started to pull out his bullshiz too early. Not B1,2 and other standing sword moves.
