Summary: - Overall, you'll need a lot of time, prepare for sacrificing other aspects of life - Pick a character you really like, experiment with multiple - Quickly adapt to a reaction-based play style, analyse your opponent and act on what they're doing - React over anticipating - Wait for and exploit openings - Refrain from playing on autopilot and from using flowcharts - Lab everything, go and experiment vs troublesome match ups or moves - Pick top 5 moves of your nemesis and practice for hours vs those - Learn to recognize moves, let them and the reaction to them become muscle memory - Go ranked, online, a lot, you'll see a lot of flowcharts - Practice movement, good movement controls the match and wins games - Try to have fun and play for the small gains, don't mind losing, see what you did better than before, even in a lost game - Stay unpredictable, lest your opponents read you like a book and exploit you - Mix up your play style, learn to switch gears or tempo

I'm the only one who's inconsistent in this game? I can play well, can have hot streak and progressing further. But in a bad day, oh man. Can be demoted 3x in a row, can lose 8x straight, bad decision making, can't read. lack of fundamentals, I literally forgot how to play the game sometimes. How i'm a ever gonna reach my potential in this game? Atleast i'm a Savior on the PS4 version, but i think that my ceilings are probably higher. Anyways good sh*t MainMan. Love the content.

Can't stress enough about playing for small gains. I play for the moments where I was able to backdash, the opponent whiffs, and I punish with an EWGF. moments like ducking a high or blocking the low and doing the appropriate rising 2 launch punish. things like that are what keeps me playing.

people know how to get good , you simply play the game. however, people have other problem. they want to get good instantly. they dont want to invest the time needed so they are looking for short cuts. they watch their favorite youtube player and they want to be instantly good. it will never happen. the same way you can see in the buisness world today. major corporations and tycoons made their name and fortune slowly and within many many years. however today people want to get rich instantly. today everybody want a 200 - 300 % profit or they wont even open their buisness. its a problem everywhere this days actually. people want everything instantly without investing the time

but nobody is saying do not train. But I AM talking about them. i dont understand you honestly. i am talking about people who want to be instant good and there are too many of those based on my experience in private matches and conversations i had with people. you come in, and say this is not the subject lets talk about something else. alright what is this something else? that its ok to give information to newcomers. now, did i ever say its not ok? did i ever say i am against the video or something? the answer to anyone with decent reading comprehension skills would be no. so why are you bringing up things that basically are not related to my statement but trying to make it look like they are? to twist it in a way like i am supposdly against the video and here you come the shining knight and defend the uploader? is that what gets you off? i am trying to understand here... enlight me please.

I’m not gonna lie, learning this game is straight up a test of patience. I’m learning this right now. I can’t even get out of the blue ranks, and when I do, I end upright back there (I started really playing about a month or so ago) so it gets very, very discouraging to lose to someone I know I could beat. That’s probably just something I’m gonna deal with though. I mostly play 2D fighters and have for years. I’ve ALWAYS played Tekken since I was a kid, but never tried to become good at the game until recently.

TMM youre description of reaction playstyle is what i would call turtling also its good to see youve changed your mind about all characters not being lab characters. just about everyone would say its muscle memory but id say its a visual cue before its muscle memory learn what a move looks like then react. the key thing is you have to learn how to punish correctly with your character, learn how your character can launch punish and what punishes leave you plus frames is vital. but the best advice would be to practice before you play ranked to warm up and if you feel yourself getting tilted go make a sandwich and coffee then come back and reflect on what you did and what your opponent did.

My problem is I just can't deal with aggressive button pushers to save my life. I know through experience when certain moves are plus on block and I shouldn't press a button then someone just starts happily poking away with random mids and highs and then jumps right back into a plus on block move. I'm stuck in a promotion demotion loop in green ranks and it pisses me off whenever i get demoted from fighter all the way back to brawler for millionth damn time because I'm trying to outplay someone who can mash 3 buttons after a juggle for decent damage meanwhile I have to practice dashing into high execution technical combos as Jin or the mishima family so that it doesn't whiff. Now I see why they call it green rank hell

TeryonTheHuman A lot of green ranks are really flowchart. They also usually use unsafe moves and don't punish properly. The number one thing is to pay attention to what moves are cheesing you out, try not to get pissed, then just go lab it later. Every green rank law is a perfect example. They love junkyard string (low parryable on reaction), ff3 (Launch punishable), f3+4 i believe it is? (High at the end), dragon tail (launch punishable on reaction), and mash shit until they think you'll press a button, then d23 (launch punishable). The most important thing in greens is to punish properly and be patient. I never press buttons when starting a round against greens because they love to open with yolo crushing moves also. That means with Jin, if you block a Snake Edge, you better be punishing with crouch cancel 3+4 or delayed hopkick, not panicking with a ws4. A lot of green rank players with either panic and lose control since you know how to punish, or more often, they'll keep doing the same unsafe shit giving you a free win.

IriquoisPliskin556 stuff like dragon tail snake edge and dragonov's sweeo really isn't seeable and reactible unless you've been playing tekken for years. Which means I have to rely on when I THINK they might do it. I think low launchers in general are too fast to see to the average player which is why characters with them are so popular. Compare that to someone like Kazuya who has to rely on a high launcher or 3 mid counter launchers each of which are punishable on block and its obvious why Kazuyas are a rare sight in ranked. Even Jin's low launcher has to come out of a crouch dash and gives him a baby combo compared to a bryan who can take off a 4th to a half of your life bar off a random snake edge you need above average reflex to see. Stuff like that is why there was a point where when i first bought this game when it came out I dropped it after a month and went to other fighting games. I came back eventually but imagine alot of new people get tired of getting juggled of a low and don't comeback especially when they could be playing something like injustice and not having to worry about it. Tekken is a great game but I dont think it's a completely balanced game at all. IMO low launcher that lead to full juggles should work how I hear bryans snake edge edge used to where it has to be a clean hit to launch. That way they could keep the ridiculous speed and damage potential but would be better balanced against just throwing the shit out there because of a guessing game

  • @IriquoisPliskin556

    @IriquoisPliskin556

    6 жыл бұрын

TeryonTheHuman Unless you're on a 3 bar or less there is no excuse to not react to snake edges unless you're just new to the matchup. Go to practice and set a snake edge up with 4 other moves at random; you'll see it's not that hard to react. You say it's too hard for YOU to react. You say the game isn't balanced. But if you're not even at the level to be able to block the most gimmicky stuff and punish correctly who are you to say that? The game isn't perfect but it's much more balanced than a lot of other fighters because every fighter pretty much works the same way. There are no archetypes really. And every single move is beatable in one way or another. Also you can't go with the mindset of it being stupid that some characters have easier execution than others. I started with Mishimas too and if you don't get out of that mindset it will hinder your growth. It's frustrating to have to punish a -15 move with an electric when a drag or law player can just df2. It's frustrating to have to be able to move well and electric consistently to just play Kaz at a decent level when other people can just pick Eddy and cheese you out. I get it. Especially when you're new. It sucks. But you chose the character. It's your responsibility to be able to use him well. You can't be mad at people using cheesy characters. It's your responsibility to learn how to deal with those characters. It doesn't matter how cool your wavedash is or electric combos are if you lose to a guy just doing orbital and snake edge with Bryan. You're more technically sound than him for sure, but you still lost. That's all that matters.

Getting Better comes With Time when you have the passion and interest in the depth of the game. Play online with as many different people who use different characters as possible. It is never a bad thing to ask someone who beats you all the time about your mistakes and what to do better. Rank imo won't help when you want to get better. Play online matches vs people cause there most of them wont play like assholes like in rank. And don't stress yourself, if you lose. It is part of your experience. When you reach the point where win/loss doesn't mean that much anymore, you can concentrate on the depths. And then there are the fundamentals everyone talks about ^^

Because i like the way Vanguard looks lol

You have to have fun with your character as well. I always was searching for challenges in every game, so I thought I could master Ling Xiaoyu or Master Raven when I just jumped into the game for the first time. But these characters are very hard and they gave me a lot of trouble and frustration, so I started to play Kazumi, then Asuka and now I play Lili. I know that a lot of characters are stronger than Lili, but I like her so much, she's quite simple and she helps me to master fundamentals - this procces is much more enjoyable when you play simple character.

Being salty is the best way to experience Tekken or any fighting game overall. Getting salty means that you actually give a fuck about the game. Who is gonna play ranked, loose and say to himself: "oh ok I lost, too bad", then go into training mode for 5 hours straight and improve upon what cost him the match: no one (or you better have sentimental issues).

Ive been playing tekken myself since tekken 6 and i know how fustrating it is to learn tekken as there are so many things to know which many new players dont know. For my experience: 1. Practise backdash( movement is very important to make apponent whiff an attack 2. Learn how to punish moves. Block punnishement, whiff punishement is crucial. 3. After learning fundamentals, your character comes 2nd. Learn what type of character he is, what his main moves, pokes and mixups. You also wanna take a look at what moves are safe and unsafe on block. 4. Max combo and juggle damage is assential too as you need to drain your opponent's health quickly cuz opponent is most vulnerable in the air and cant defend. These are the espects from my point of view. Hope this help some one who is strugguling with a game. Cheers😉

Double Glazing You forgot to add something. Getting to know other characters moves, if you know the enemy’s move then you can do things like low parry, side step etc. Playing against a character you know nothing about is hard and can be frustrating for new players. Tbh I’m saying all of this but I still get hit by snake edge and other cheap lows lmao. My brain freezes when I see a low

The whole thing you said atthe beginning about putting a lot of time and dedication kind of scares away some people that just want to play the game casually (especially those new to it). It is true for someone who wants to becomr an advanced player or highly intermediate when it comes to a fighting game. But for casuals they either wanna do it at their pace of learning or learn when they have time to

Another thing is that it's hard for beginners who don't know fighting game fundamentals & all of Tekken 7's mechanics when the game doesn't tell you (it expects you to already have experience). Soul Calibur seems to do a better job of teaching beginners how to play and even has a glossary of fundamentals in Soul Calibur 3 (stuff from the basics up to advanced).

The problem is that i like to play with many characters like Jin, Hwoarang, Josie, Kazuya, Devil Jin, Lee, Brian and i thinks it's one of my main defaults 'cause I train with this character, play ranked, lose, win, win, lose, lose, lose and then I swap to antoher character thinking i'll do better (but most of the times no) Most of the times I play with a friend who is Destroyer (He main Hwoarang) and he keep telling me that i'm not that bad and he don't see why i'm still in Blue Ranks The second reason is like a guy said in the comment, when I go to ranked it's like I forget most of my combos and I lose to dumb things (like spam) and one things that pisses me of is that I know that I can punish some moves but I don't do it and sometimes I know that the guy will do this move and I don't block it, punish it, low parry or parry I keep watching matches from pro, watch live streams or watching some tutorial to learn few things but it doesn't seem to work I do love to play this game (really) but I'm upset to myself for losing in ranked for dumb things ^^' (Btw sorry if I made any mistakes, English is not my first language ^^')

Its pretty tough, my execution is worse than stick, and movement sucks. It feels weird, but i feel like i will enjoy it more and achieve a higher level with stick than with dpad, especially after seeing the moves u do (korean cancels). Im gonna practice my execution in free mode, and lose games online. And also once im used ill work on my movement. But execution goes first right now. Im using the razer panthera evo but will probably swap to something cheaper because of finances
