    Been playing Alisa since release I would say I'm an advanced player going in tournaments leaving pools. This is hands down one of the best videos on Alisa I have seen. I especially liked the b+1 after not playing Alisa since season 2 this was a breath of fresh air. I realized I don't use b+1 enough somehow looking at this video.

    This is very informative, and well-made! I've been thinking of trying out Alisa because movement is one of her core strengths, of which the player has to utilize everything in their power to maximize their chances of winning with Alisa. That includes whiff creation, punishing, and sidestepping. And what's more important, is that movement is a transferrable skill.

    Thank you for giving us a nice pro direction on making our opponent whiff. What I wanted to note was that after db+3 if you are in a close range(or with your back in the wall) you can do db+1+2(which will be a throw since you're in FC ) to catch people off guard.Nobody expects a throw while crouching and that's the reason I think that db+3 has the most flexibility of all the bait moves Alisa has.

  • @gajimaru2570

    @gajimaru2570

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes. But you should also think beyond that 45 dmg from the throw to see how they could answer this sequence. Especially if the opponent is not confident with throw breaking they could do any of these to launch the crouching throw: sidestep either way, backdash (need some timing and to release the last b), duck, high crush with hopkick or snake edge, backsway like Dragunov qcb+2, or a 12 frame CH move like Alisa 2,3,3, King b+1 or Leroy b+1+2 (needs to be exactly 12 frames, 11F magic 4s will not CH). That's a lot of options so you need matchup knowledge and to observe your opponent's habits to be ready with an answer. For example if they play Claudio and hopkick after your db+3, you can SSR after db+3 instead of throwing to avoid the hopkick and launch, but you cannot SSL it. Breaking down your offence from the opponent's point of view is one of the things that makes Tekken so fun for me

    Yes, in matchups where the opponent has a 15F mid homing move Alisa cannot use b+1 in the usual way. Here we have to mostly hold it after b+1 on block and only use it for the FC mix on hit. However other offence starters like f+2 and db+3 do the trick. That's a difference between Alisa and characters with a generic df+1 - she uses different moves for different matchups.

    So glad to hear that! The two highest damage backturn punishers are ws1,2,3 into full launch (f2 or b1 route) and db2,2 into guaranteed b4,4 DBT 2,1 (on smalls and Bob SBT 1,2,1). They both do 80-100 dmg but can be tricky to use unless you know the situation, as ws1,2,3 requires you to step then crouch, and db2,2 is a bit finicky with pushback, you need to sometimes do it instantly and sometimes delay the second hit for the b4 to connect. Ws1,2,3 is good for example when you SSR the third hit of Anna uf1,3,3+4 or duck under an Akuma jump, db2,2 is good for example for punishing King springkick. But for a quick BT punish in a hectic situation I prefer 2,3,3 (knockdown / wall stun) or, if the opponent doesn't know, 1,2,2#. This one becomes a 10F launcher if they try to block, they need to jump or interrupt with a BT move to avoid it. That's already four choices but hope it helps :)

    You can use any of the usual combo routes after low parrying: f+2 df+1,1 d+4,1+2 S! d+3,1 (easiest to perform, easy to convert for wall carry, lower damage), b+1 WS+1,2,3 4 S! microdash d+3,1 (easy to perform, harder to convert, good damage), WS+1,2,3 d+4,1+2 S! d+3,1 (staple, easy to convert, good damage). Sorry for the late response! That's a very good question. What I normally do set the bot do Alisa moves like db+3 into backdash or f+2 into sidestep left or right, and myself pick the opponent's character and try to hit Alisa with their key moves. For example if you pick Julia you want to see about her f,f+1 / df+3 / d,df+1 / uf+4,3 and other important moves which ones Alisa can backdash, step left or right, or walk left or right. That should give you an idea of what is best for the matchup at close range, pushback moves or sidestep moves!

  • @gajimaru2570

    It's good. You can create a very simple RPS from jab on block. db+3 beats jab and sidestep but loses to mids and hopkicks. 4 launches mids, floats hopkicks and beats sidestep, so now they have to either jab or duck (or 11F magic 4 if they have one). b+1 beats ducking, magic 4, floats jumping moves but loses to jab or sidestep. When you don't want to take any risks you can just jab into sidestep block or dash block. If the opponent is very good you can always add riskier options to break their defence

    How did u do that reset combos, is it range specific? Cuz i cant seem to get it right

  • @gajimaru2570

    It's range specific, you have to screw with the 5th aerial hit so ws1,2,3 b2,4 or b1 ws1,2 b2,4 etc then SBT 3 hits at tip range and combos into ws1,2,3 1 wr2. Opponent has to stay down, it won't pick up if they tech or back roll, so this kind of stuff is good for round enders when they think they have the life lead to lie on the ground and play time

    Who's another character that's good at creating whiffs similar playstyle?

    Many characters like Lili, Zafina, Jack, Armour King, Xiaoyu, Miguel, Eddy. The two other main damage sources besides whiffs are counterhits and mixups. These characters are all good at whiff creation and have different strengths in the other two departments

    So 10:04 is sidestep, not a short sidewalk? Just to confirm, command wise it one short up input, not two up input?

    It's a sidewalk, and a very precise one at that. Need to know the best movement patterns for each matchup to level up after this guide

    I hate when people call Alisa cheese, this is exactly how I try to play even though my applications are dogshit. You can just tell this is good fundamentals and control of a true mixup game.
