JF-17 rocks the skies because it now has more advanced weapons and a bigger operational range. And finally, JF-17 is combat proven and has export success where İndia is the only user of TEJAS and no any other country has made a proposal to purchase it so far and doesn't seem to be sold in the future.

@@kamleshrathaur844 it's not important if it's a joint venture or an indigenous project. The important thing is what you have at the end. Ok, TEJAS is on serial production (it also uses foreign engine and avionics) but JF17 is the platform which carries the combat proven badge and has export success. That's the most important thing. Finally no one produces a military equipment without the goal to export it because they need to compensate the costs (except strategic ones like F-22 or similar). Otherwise it will share the same fate like the Arjun tank where İndia is the only user and that's why all the costs go to the local tax payers. You know what i mean?

​@@cemgokcan Arjun tank got interest from African countries. It will soon be exported. Lots of equipments are being exported. Tejas will too. Export takes time. Tejas mk1a has not been inducted yet. Once inducted it will start recieving export orders. Also JF-17 is joint venture. Developing Tejas platform has given India a lot of technologies to develop more advanced jets. There are 5 jets that India is working on right now.

@@direwolf7491 as example Argentina agreed to buy 12 JF17's for 664m USD. Showing interest is good but final result brings the money to the country. At the same time, many western countries are offering cheaper light tanks to the african countries. Turkey just proposed the Kaplan Medium Tank which was sold to Malasian army to both Nigeria and Gabon army and they came to Turkey to see them at the plant in Ankara. Competition is high so to be exported brings a higher value to any platform. That's what we are trying to say. Both Tejas and Arjun still need to have export success.

JF 17 is made up of Aluminum , doesn't has any sort of stealth paint and neither does it have diamond shape so it's not stealth from any angle despite being developed in 21st century . While Tejas is made up of advanced composite material (India have aced metallurgy in last few decades) , has stealth paint and is smaller physically too making it toughest to detect across all 4th gen fighter's (only Rafale can challenge it) . So Tejas having rcs around .5 m^2 won't make it a 5th gen fighter but will provide edge over other fighter's and also when it have to do deep penetration of enemy aerospace .

Im sorry why do you want to compare a junk with the j17? Where is the rafale?

Which features make RD 39 , a variant of RD 33 engine more adavance than F 404 engine. F404 has FADEC system developed by General electronics, the same engine was used in F117 due maintain the stealth feature. RD 33 used in MiG 29 which does not have any stealth feature.

F117 is a terribly slow and non supersonic attack bomber. Engines don't matter stealth compared to shape and ram coating

Jeff is combat proven, in-service over a decade with multiple operators and potential customers in ther list meanwhile teja is in protype stage even after two decades of development phase and after that it got rejected by the Airforce who itself developed that thing... decide the rest on your own

When Mig-25 was flying above Pakistan, and Pakistani generals saying, see that's Mig-25, we can't do anything against it. It wasn't Battle tested. When Brahmos missile intruded 124kms. Inside Pakistan, it wasn't Battle tested. But, Pakistani F-16 crossed Indian border, and when Su-30mki. Mig-21 started chasing them, JF-17 was not doing any Battle against any Indian Aircraft, it was just providing support to F-16 , that's Battle tested 😂😂😂😂

Pakistan is a poor country, and no one would ever sell them aircraft except china, that's why they had to buy jf 17. Initial versions of "Jeff" (Block 1) lacked basic modern features like aesa radar, composit material, mid air refuling, etc. But they still bought Jf17 coz they had no money. The biggest problem with jf 17 is that it uses a Russian engine with very short service life, and jf is only assembled in pakistan and not manufactured. On the contrary Indian Air Force always wanted a perfect aircraft, and the goal of making Tejas was to create a defence maufacturing ecosystem in India. And we have successfully accomplished that goal, most of the Tejas Mk1(upgraded to FOC standards) have been delivered and Mk 1A will start to get delivered by next year. I have no intentions of diving deep into the technical specifications, what I can say is that Tejas is the better aircraft simply because it uses a superior engine and radar, supports almost every modern bvr and wvr missile including indigenous Astra missile and India has full control over it's spares. And fulfills the role it was intended to fulfill. And one should remember that the JF 17 is the backbone of pakistan air force, but for Indian Air Force Tejas is not it's backbone rather it's the SU-30MKI & Rafale (much better aircrafts than "jeff"). At the end of the day Tejas is an aircraft that is designed in India and manufactured in India. JF 17 is made and designed by China and one thing to note is that even if jf was made by pakistan and China together China doesn't use JF 17.

But now the FOC versions have has all the features and functionalities requested by the Airforce. And MK- 1A variant will have even more upgradations.

Yes while initially jf 17s wasn't impressive at all, it got its fair share of upgrades and the latest block 3 variant is equipped with state of the art avionics, much better radar and an impressive combat range (2000 kms) for its caliber. On the other hand, India itself wasn't interested in tejas initially but it also got into production and saw its fair share of upgrades. Now, both of them have their fair share of pros and cons: While Jf 17 block 3 excels at dog fights and BVR capabilities it lacks short when it comes to reliability and shorter service span paired with a questionable russian Turbofan engine. On the other hand, Tejas is the complete opposite of the aircraft, while being much more reliable and being built of arguably of better materials, and paired with its local Indian made turbofan engines, it makes it a formidable work horse. While it may not have better BVR capabilities, it's faster deployment time, and reliability makes it pretty deadly on paper. In the end, it's the same as comparing a Toyota to a BMW. While Toyota is much more reliable, BMW has better performance While trading reliability

You'rre comparing an aircraft that is a reality (JF-17C Block 3) with an aircraft that is still on paper (Tejas Mk.1A). JF-17C Block 3 induction has already started in PAF with 12 aircraft inducted and 38 aircraft on order whereas IAF is still taking delivery of Tejas MK.1 and Mk.1A still has to go into serial production. By the time IAF starts taking delivery of Tejas Mk.1A, PAF would have completed delivery of 50 JF-17C Block 3s.

Some what true but Tejas mk1 delivery is already done there r few mk1 yet to be deliver but that is trainer version they have finish production of the trainer variant and is testing and in some months they will handover to the IAF only mk1A is about to deliver n it will be done on fast pace, and the IAF will order additional 50 mk1A , aircraft production will be 28-32 aircraft per year .

Tejas is currently operational with iaf in 40+ numbers. The availability rate over the past four years has been close to 80%. The performance numbers have impressed the iaf so much that they have already ordered 83 Tejas in mk1a configuration and planning to order another 100 jets Comparatively, the performance and reliability of jf17 is so bad that both export customers, Myanmar as well as Nigeria air forces have grounded this aircraft. The all metal airframe of jf17 has poor manufacturing quality resulting in an availability of approx 40% for Pakistan Air Force. Even after buying 150 jf17 the Pakistan Air Force still relies mainly on their old American f16 and has also started buying Chinese J10 fighter, acknowledging their dissatisfaction with this junk jf17

JF-17 designed by Russia later rejected by Russia than build by China and painted 🎨 by Pakistan. Whereas Tejas designed by India build by India and also using it. That's the defference. Tejas has RCS of 0.3-0.5 sqM JF 17 has RCS of 3 sqM.

Jf-17 program started in late 80,s n after prototypes ,it was finally inducted in PAF in 2007 , on contrary Tejas prog was started in early 80,s n 2 decades have passed n yet it has not been inducted by its on Air force due to flaws... So it is better to take assistance from your fellows instead of designing a crap which is not flown by its own country... Anyways , Tejas is still in papers, whereas PAF has launched jf-17 block 3 , a much more improved version of the 2 early predecessors... N at at the same time ,it is war proven... Remember the mission swift retrot in Feb 2019... If you have forgotten ,then please interview Abhinandan ,he will tell you the whole story.... 🍵 Is fantastic!😂

Go and do the comparison of Tejas mk1a's and JF17's avionics, fly by wire system, radar, radar cross section, Airframe details, reliability of engine, Electronic warfare suite, instantaneous turn rate, sustained turn rate, weapon package.. You'll only find that.. Jf 17 is only better in terms of control system just because of large area display integrated in it.. If you talk about PL15 missile.. Then let me enlighten you that even though PL15 missile's range is 200 km plus is only because it can only shoot non maneuvering targets like awacs, tanker refuelers.. It's useless for maneuvering targets like fighter jets from that 200km long-range. Also the delta wing design that tejas uses that you people make fun of.. Jets with this design can still fly fairly even the certain part of wing area is damaged, ever wonder why europeans chose this delta wing design for gripen, rafale, Euro fighter, mirages..? We took bad decisions like inducting tejas in our airforce too late also taking too much time for testing and I undertand Tejas was delayed too much to be inducted and produced..

Range of Tejas is 850 kms. ? Tejas participated in Bahrain exercise where JF-17 ran away from competition after entry of Tejas. China lost 5 million non refundable entry fees of Bahrain exercise. Tejas flew from India to Bahrain, and During this flight it was mid air refueled 2 times only, and if you know distance from India to Bahrain definitely its not 2550 kms. (850 kms. * 3 times refueling )

Rcs of Jf 17 is not available so how do you make comparison. Anyway a all metal body general configuration fighter will always have more Rcs than a deltal shaped fighter with non metalic body.

Tejas Mk1-A flying prototype Empty weight reduced from 6560 kg. To 5740 kg. Payload capacity increased from 3500 kg. to 5360 kg. Empty weight is reduced means with 100% refueling Tejas give better thrust to weight ratio compared to JF-17 block 3. Tejas is the aircraft with highest composite usage, Rafale use 30% composite , Tejas use 45%. Tejas is maintenance friendly, high serviceability rate. JF-17? Its maintenance, serviceability rate depends on China and Russia. Tejas is using FADEC, and FADEC keeps control over speed of aircraft as well, so it don't means Tejas can't fly faster than JF-17. Tejas's TWR, Payload, Fuel capacity is better than JF-17, if speed increased Range will get compromised. Tejas RCS is 0.5 m2 with payload, JF-17 block 3 RCS? 1m2. Tejas mk1-A RCS? 0.1-0.3m2 with payload. 1 Tejas detect another Tejas aircraft from 140kms. Distance with ELM-2052 AESA radar. So in bvr combat JF-17 has no edge Because of higher RCS and poor radar.

​@@rohitb5834 It has been reduced. Even wiki updated their data. This year Jan-Feb (a new variant second prototype)of Tejas mk1a with reduced weight took it's first flight. With increased maneuverability, G force tolerance, AoA, speed and payload capacity and with AESA radar.

Both countries have come a long way in terms of technological achievements. I would say that India has a better and more practical infrastructure in terms of producing tech savy professionals, and that is going to be huge in near future. This is a game changer strategy where as Pakistan haven't done much in investing in its youth to be tech ready as the main stream tech professionals.

Not so. It took best part of 6 to 7 years to develop its software. Its autoclave technology was sold to Airbus and is used in the manufacture of Jets. Tejas Mk1A is coming online. Then there will be Mk2 whose technology is being developed. Junk Fighter 17 /18/19 etc heading for the junk yard. @@asifalikhan8677

Each time the Indian Tejas participated in an air show, the Pakistani team cancelled their JF17 participation, ceded participation fee and ran away 2) The Chinese do not use it and only export to poor countries 3) The all metal airframe has poor manufacturing quality resulting in an availability of approx 40% for Pakistan Air Force 4) Even after buying 150 of jf17 the PAF still relies mainly on the American f16 and has also started buying Chinese J10 fighter aircrafts 5) JF17 Block 1 and 2 do not have AESA radar, no in flight refueling, only two dimensional fly by wire, all metal body causing high weight, low thurst weight ratio, older electronics and only Chinese weapons to fire 6) The newer block 3 jf17 variant has a cheaper air cooled AESA radar unable to operate at max power and hence lower range. Further, block 3 retains the same old Russian rd93 based engines, uses pod based electronic warfare as well as same metal body and build quality as older block 1 & 2. Further it uses pod based electronic warfare, doesn’t have sensor fusion and neither has any active/shape stealth features which might have given it a face saver 7) The performance and reliability of jf17 is so bad that both export customers, Myanmar as well as Nigeria air forces have grounded this aircraft. Even the Pakistan Air Force had to buy the j10 aircrafts from China acknowledging their dissatisfaction with the junk fighter jf17 On the contrary, the Indian Air Force is impressed with the performance numbers of their Tejas aircrafts over the past four years, so much so that they have placed orders for 83 additional Tejas aircrafts. Further there are confirmed reports of another 100 Tejas aircraft being ordered by IAF The Tejas aircraft is also evolving further with the mk2 variant as well as a naval variant under development

The design of airframe of JF-17 is very old ,and its basically a Chinese made platform. Chinese has experimented all their weapons ,systems on it and make Pakistan pay for it. Pakistan also got a cheap aircraft in its inventory which it can add numbers to it. Indian Tejas is a cutting edge platform , due to its very small size ,stealth has in-built in it. Also India has added some western and Israel systems on it , which are easily better than the Chinese. Lca teajs design is for the future whereas Jf-17 is an old design ,top up with some Chinese systems.

The JF17 is a mature airframe well into its 3rd iteration and the Tejas is yet to go into full scale production. There are some caveats though, the Tejas project has access to the full suite of western avionics whereas the JF17 is limited to Chinese options.

South Korean FA-50 is nowhere near capable as Tejas mk1A. The only reason S.Korea chose FA-50 was bribes, unofficially. And officially they gave the reason that FA-50's manufacturing lines are well established and its already in operation in larger numbers.

The two aren't really comparable, the JF17 is designed to be the backbone of the Pakistani air force, a role that is held by the SU-30MKI and Rafale in the IAF Tejas MK1a is designed to be a light fighter, designed to replace the Mig-21 and play more of a support role to the Rafale and SU-30

JF17 is also a light fighter meant to replace F7, and F7PG. J10CE will be the front fighter to replace F-16 fighters of PAF, along with J16D in the future to replace aging Mirage fighters. No single fighter plane can be the backbone of any air force.

@@AI-qn8be Well remember, Pakistan only has 20 J-10's (with 16 more on the way), India already has that amount of Rafale's. F-16 is 85, J-17 is 153 with another 35 on the way. J-17 is the only one with numbers anywhere close to the F-16. Seems more like the J-10 will be the advanced fighter (similar to how India has the Rafale), while J-17 will be the primary fighter of the PAF, the backbone

@@avinashtyagi2 The two jets are very comparable because they are intended to do the same job. JF17 in PAF is what Mig21 was for IAF and what Teja will be in the future. SU30 was the top end of IAF inventory and now Rafale is being brought into the mix. The backbone as you called it , indeed JF17 is and the backbone is always the mid level aircraft. Inducted for leg work and grunt work. if its a Hi-Lo mix or High-mid-lo mix then Lo or Mid is always the backbone. Which is why Mig21 was (until recently) the backbone of IAF. secondly, JF17 cannot replace F16 and PAF has no intention of replacing F16 with JF17. If there an aircraft that might eventually replace the F16, is J10C. Honestly I do not believe PAF said anything of the sort either. The only comparison can be operational. JF17 can be upgraded for cheaper and much easily. Upgrading F16 is a pain and comes with strings , a lot of strings.

The affordable price of these jets, check the availability ratio of JF17 and you’ll know why they are cheaper than other jets. E.g. Myanmar entire JF17 fleet is grounded. Wrong point to defend tejas. Engine and few other things are imported. There is work going on kaveri mrk2 and ejection seat, also radar to be replaced we have Israel radars right now also few more thing are going to ideginiesed but it will take time. We we go th su30mki way slowly slowly indeginising some components every year starting from radar engine and so on

Nah, Lies. Neutral opinion - JF17 Block 1 and JF17 Block 2 were not even comparable to Tejas mk1. Tejas mk1 has Quadruplux Digital FBW system, Unstable design with Relaxed Static stability , 90% surface area composite Airframe, Better GE404 engine with FADEC , 100% Glass digital cockpit, easy maintainability, 8 hardpoints, higher negative G, etc. JF17 Block1/2 were nowhere close and did not have any of those above features. It had a basic 2 channel fly by wire, no Relaxed static stability, no composites, older smokey RD93 engine , Cockpit mixed with some analogue controls, 7 hardpoints, etc. Even their programming language is in basic C++ and not more sophisticated ADA like Tejas. Now i agree JF17 Block 3 has caught up - it does have three axis digital fly by wire system, AESA radar, some composites in its airframe, RD93MA engine, 8 hardpoints, data link ,IRST,MAWS, etc Tejas mk1A still has a better Quadruplux Digital FBW System, AESA radar, much more composites, still a better GE404 engine, 8 hardpoints, Data link, MAWS, ADA coding language, etc. Only thing Tejas mk1A is falling short is the lack of inbuilt IRST. About the range....both have comparable ranges since both carry similar amount of fuel. GE404 is more fuel efficient engine however. JF17 advertises its "combat range" as 1200 kms or whatever....without any citiation or source. It can be by carry 3x drop tanks and 1 air to air refuelling. Tejas officially states its ferry range on internal fuel to be 1700 kms, and combat radius with weapons load at 500 kms....means it can carry heavy weapons...attack at a position 500 kms away , complete the mission and fly back.....on internal fuel.

@@Jkl62200 again ...if you would have basic education from a decent school ...you would know that Tejas , Jf17 , Gripen C etc all carry similar amount of fuel. So the range wouldn be very much different. I have mentioned that in my original comment but i don't think your madrassa education allowed that into your head.

JF-17 already bought by several countries. Not to mention it already fought real combat in 2019. Tejas is 10-15 years behind JF-17.

The availability rate over the past four years has been close to 80%. In stealth capabilities Tejes mk1a is more advance over jf17 block 3 because tejas is made up of composite material while jf17 is made up of mostly metals.

Those who are calling it samosa, let me tell you, it's called a Delta wing which means if there's a slight damage to either of the wings of Tejas,. it'll be able to fly safely upto a certain extent. Meanwhile Jf 17 has a tail wing based wing design and incase it takes damage it'll be very unstable even for safe landing unlike in case of Tejas so ejection would be the only option left for the pilot. More importantly theres less aerodynamic drag in the Delta wing or the Samosa as compared to the tail wing based jets which gives better maneuverablility at higher speeds unlike Tail wing based wings with higher aerodynamic drag. Also tejas is a lightweight aircraft and having delta wings is optimal for the plane's speciality. Thanks for reading.

Russian ace pilot flew Tejas in India, what he said? ' we Russians believe good looking aircraft can't fly better, but Tejas proved me wrong, if there is exhibition dogfight organised Su-30mki vs. Tejas, then I will like to fly Tejas '. Tejas is not just aircraft, Russian maneuverability, tactics and western mindset it's combination of both. JF-17? Pakistan wanted affordable aircraft, China bought design of Russian aircraft, and made it affordable with high metal usage concept of Russian aircrafts. Which countries are buying JF-17? Pakistan, Nigeria, Myanmar etc. Countries Which can't even afford Russian aircraft. JF-17 is nothing but business minded thinking of China who wants to export affordable aircraft with poor performance to those countries Which aren't in position of fighting conventional war. PAF trust Old second hand F-16 block 52 more than JF-17, but not even Iraq is ready to sell its F-16 to Pakistan so they have no choice except buying Chinese aircraft. JF-17 used for bombing in Ballochistan, against own country people. This is the battle testing. On Indian borders there are Indian, Israeli, Russian SAM are waiting for Targets.
