Iranian people include Kurds as well. whether you are originally from Kurdistan of Iraq or northern Syria (Rojava), Kurds are Iranian people. Northern Syria was separated after Muslims dismantle Sassanid Empire and Kurdistan of Iraq and eastern Anatolia were separated during Ottoman-Safavid wars. We might not live in the same country but our custom and heritage is the same (or very close) like Nowruz and many common words in our languages, etc. Wish you the best our dear kin :-)

Generally in places, especially parks, where people are having fun and eating, there is usually one or another garbage, plastic bags, pet bottles, soda cans on the floor and lawn. My observation was a compliment to the Iranian people for their organization and cleanliness.

I know you had a good compliment Aline and i appreatiate that, It's a tradition , cleanliness and hospitality , Persians kept it for at least 5000 years event in these days which everyone want to make the middle east under a pressure. But always there's an exception ;) I invite you to visit Iran and be our guest(me and my wife) in the south of Iran. I do live in Bandar Abbas city , Qeshm and Hormuz Islands nearby the great Persian Gulf. The best season to visit the south of Iran is late autumn and winter :)

@@Mithroun Interesting - I'd imagine then that even most persians haven't had all of the different foods available in each of the cities. In the U.S., it's actually very rare for an individual city to have its own unique cuisine. Most cities here, unlike in the middle-east and europe, are kind of generic lol, so my apologies if that seemed a rather naive question. Thanks for the info btw! I'm definitely excited to go!

I am Italian, and I keep coming back to this video every time I can. Missing the old good days walking in these streets and park with my children and their mother, an Iranian woman, now my ex wife. I was with my children there, laughing and running here and there on the roof of Tehran. These videos are full of both great memories and ghosts to me. But from some reason I cannot stop watching them.... Probably because they bring me back to the last really happy period of my life, the period I used to be 24/7 with my children! I’ve put away so many things from that chapter of my life - I had to! - but for some (eventually nihilistic) reason, I can’t get Tehran out of my soul!

Tehran is not consider a desert city. Iran has many ancient cities in margin of deserts like Esfahan, Kashan, Yazd, ..., but Tehran is located on the southern foothill of Alborz mountain range; due to its height it blocks the moisture rising from Caspian Sea to reach the central region of Iranian plateau. Since Tehran is on the southern slope of Alborz mountain range it still gets some moisture and its precipitation in Northern part of city is about the global average (420 mm/year) but Tehran is so vast that the southern part of the city is in a different climate zone and it gets only about 250mm/year of rainfall which is consider semi-arid. Tehran has many small rivers and Qanats and it was famous for its lush gardens in ancient time. Regretfully most of those gardens now are converted to apartment buildings and are swallowed by the ever growing city. Sand storms are very rare in Tehran, it only happened once in the last 100 years. As you travel from Tehran to the Caspian sea shores which is about 100km away, the landscape changes drastically to dense Hyrcanian jungle with packed dense jungle which is about the size of Netherland. Iran has very diverse climate and geography, due to its relative large size -- Larger than whole western Europe -- and its mountainous terrain. In late winter you may ski on resorts in northern Tehran and catch a plane to Persian Gulf cities (e.g. Kish island, Qeshm or Bandar-Abbass) and swim there in perfectly temperate water. The picture you have in mind is perhaps Egyptian cities which are amazingly green and woody close to Nile and desert on the other sides. I can not think of any city in Iran which is like that. Iran's desert cities do not have natural woods (jungle) nearby, the green zones in those cities are all planted.

I love your videos. I was in Teheran in 1975 and have not been able to return. It's really sad, because I found the people so friendly and hospitable. Also, the food is the best in the world. I never worry about people in Iran, I live in London for goodness sake, they should worry for me. I spend ten months of the year inside buildings, from work to home and home to work. You can't go anywhere for ten months of the year, because of cold, rain and wind, especially wind. We're basically prisoners here. Then you have the knife crime issue, gangs and other related violence. Just today a rail ticket inspector got stabbed seven times on his shoulder and leg. His partner is pregnant and the baby is due anytime soon. I hope he survives and recovers quickly. This is at my local station. My partner and I left the house this afternoon to meet some friends of ours in a nearby park. Right outside of our property, as we crossed the street, a car came flying on the wrong side of the road and nearly hit us. And I live in Bromley, once a lovely area. Houses go for over a million pounds on our road. But this is reality, London is a dump, no matter where you live. Full of drugs, violence, mad people and shit weather guaranteed all year round.

@NR Rasa I certainly want to visit Iran, but first need to get a job because now I'm in my 5th (and last year) of university. I'm a petroleum engineer, that's how a met my friends and colleagues.
