I am shaving mold lines on a set of the Tehnolog knights as I watch this. These things are a godsend to a new dm like me who can't afford an army of Reaper minis.

In case anyone was wondering about all the Silent Hill noises for the first bit of the video it's literally just the audio I captured when taping outside of my place. I literally live in Silent Hill apparently.

Aw, not got the other three castlecraft varieties? The knights are pretty damn versatile and I use the bearded chaps as city watch/low-end mercenaries.

I use legos for my player characters This is because I can make them look a lot like the characters and they are kind of expensive but if you already have a collection it is much less expensive

@@B.-T. good question... I don't read Russian haha. The kilts lead me to believe picts. The minis themselves look more like pathfinder half-orcs than anything else...

@@addictedtominisandlovingit3912 I don't know much about the Pathfinder half-orcs, never cared for that game system. The Castlecraft series just calls these guys "barbarians" and usually packs em with Roman soldiers.... so me, I'm of french descent, so when I think of a celtic culture fighting romans, I think of the gauls... The artwork for the "ancient castle" set which pits the barbarians against the romans does show a celtic warrior with body paint and a green plaid kilt so... I dunno. XD

Very cool video, I just ordered myself a Tehnolog Castlecraft (I hope it arrives okay). One little piece of advice though when talking about scale. The number is a reference to the eye height of a mini, and the descriptive part is a reverence to the minis proportions. I would describe the Tehnolog minis as 25mm Heroic scale, as they are proportioned like body builders and the majority of your other stuff as 28mm True scale as their proportions are more realistic. Of course these descriptives lie on a sliding scale and should not be treated as absolute boundaries. The main advantages of Heroic scale is that minis are more study, easy to build and paint and accordingly easy to recognise from arms length (tabletop distance).

I would still advise caution when shopping for these. There is a series closer to 25mm that are sold both in big castles, and in mini-castles with 28mm "greenskins" randomly packed in, and the auctions will still list them as 28mm. I mentionned this on your FB page before. The sculpts and character types are very different, so if you see pirates, conquistators or gladiators, those guys are the 25mm series, regardless of what the auction description might suggest.

I ran into this issue... I got orcs and goblins in scale, but all humans, and the castle were 20mm scale. The cool thing is I own the entire arcane legions game and the castle work great for battleground dressing. But unless it were a gnome or halfling castle... You might be pissed

@@addictedtominisandlovingit3912 Yeah I got the pirates and conquistador sets... they scale up adequately with old 25mm minis like Ral Partha's and TSR's old 1980s offerings. The mounted knights are tiny, probably like you said about 20mm. I plan on painting them up as statues for dungeon/city decor.... ditto the top half of a dragon. The castles themselves are just too small to do much except give a visual cue on an overland map or something...

As far as I know they don't make 28MM proper dwarves. They have a line of chibi dwarves but they would look goofy next to D&D minis. The 54MM dwarves make good enlarged dwarves or duegar.

@@Blandco They seem to have at some point made some 28mm fantasy figures but they seem to be a lot rarer. What is most abundant on ebay are their "historicals" (your barbarians, which look to be celts or gauls or maybe picts, romans, normans, vikings, knights and crusaders) but they have made fantasy stuff... Found a vid in Russian about em. They're technically called gnomes but they are quite dwarfy regardless. The other minis in the series are humans and "shadows". kzread.info/dash/bejne/fouNxslucdjRdbQ.html

There is no 10mm Tehnolog, but there is 1/72mm line, which is ALSO called CastleCraft

There is an actual dwarf set in this line of minis. Just look up technolog dwarf and you should see them they come in a set of 32.

Dude. Go to a Marshall’s or TJMAXX. Kaosball is on sale there for $12-$16. 60 proper scaled minis. Right up your alley. Good luck. Very much fantasy looking.

my favourite monster is a flameskull and I can't find any good quality miniatures of it. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately no I haven't seen many. There was the Reaper Bones demilich which could be painted as a flameskull. www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/skull/latest/77352

I never paint eyes for that very reason. I still wish Tehnolog was easier to get in the US, or at least some good alternative for 54mm.

what other eastern european minis are you going to do videos about ? ever use dark alliance minitures ?

Having trouble getting my technolog orcs to stick to bases. Any suggestions? Does primer really stick to these if super glue won't?

If it's the larger orcs then you might be working with a smaller surface area with the feet on the base. Superglue works best if there is some sort of texture on the base and part of the mini that touches the base. So try scoring the bottom of the orc's feet with a knife. The base as well if it doesn't already have texture on it. I had no issues with the hard plastic versions of these minis.

@@christophermurray9777 How did it work out. You can also attach the foot with the CA (superglue) glue and sprinkle baking soda on it after you have it in position and it will bond instantly.

Not in this line! Reaper bones is the cheapest pirate miniatures unless you want to get the Conan board game which has a ton of them. (And those are Conan style pirates so very old timey pirates.) I LOVE the warmachine pirates but those rarely go on sale. They are really nice metal minis however. I should do a video on those.

If you search for Tehnolog's Castlecraft stuff on ebay you will see pirates, but those minis are 25mm scale and not 28mm. If that's not an issue for you you might enjoy them.
