Hi, once you knuckled down how long did it take you to complete the course and roughly how many hours a week were you studying alongside the day job? Have you considered those platform providers like VIP Kid? It would be great when you do the video FUP if you could talk about how you landed that first job, if you had teaching experience before and the business side of setting yourself up as a business/contractor plus any rates charged and hours per week your teaching for?

Whenever o need a genuine informed input your there for me!

EXACTLY at 3:00 as an English native speaker it's the same- the grammer is ingrained but for the life of me- I can't explain it not now. So while I teach on ITalki I'm keeping my focus to conversation which for the intermediate and above level is so needed, they get grammar in school, but can't speak.

Did you get your certificate? Did you have to do any in person classes before they gave you your certificate?

I'm thinking about doing this TEFL course. What was the most challenging part about the course and how difficult was for you to pass the written assignments? Since you said that with some of them, you didn't pass straight away, I am curious how well I will be doing in the written assignments as a non-native English speaker. Please let me know! And if you have any other advice/feedbacks to share, feel free to let me know too!

Thanks for the video, was very informative and you explain in a good way i am sure you will find lots of eager pupils:) one question: among the assignments was there any video task to do? Like a direct call with your tutor "immitate the lesson" or smth similar? Or were there only written assignments? Was there any final examination or we need just to pass those modules and written assignments and it is enough to finish the course and get the certificate? Do you remember how many hours per week you dedicated to the course to have been able to finish it in 6 moths? Thanks again and good luck! Marina

No, no video tasks just written assignments and a final written assignment :) And nope, just did it when I had time, but the full course is 120 hours so just divide 120 by the 6 months and it works out at 5 hours per week. :)

Just curious, how did it change your perception of what teaching will be like as a job? Is it a negative or a positive change? Thanks for the informative video!

Hi, I'm thinking about picking Level 5 training, but I have a few questions: 1) Do you really learn how to plan the lessons, or is it pure theory?, I never been a teacher before, and I would like to have some templates to work on them. 2) Is there any package that includes the exam preparation training?. 3) Do you have a tutor to coach you? 4) Do you have practical teaching hours along the course?. 5) Were you accepted with this certificate into a job?. Hi. Could you give the heads up on the agencies? Also was your certificate marked out of a pass, merit or distinction? How did you find your students in Poland?

If you've learned a language before, learning the words for the grammar is definitely easier. I know Spanish as a second language and am learning Mandarin, and I had such a hard time with a grammatical structure. The explanations made it weird and foreign. But then someone told me, "yeah, no, that's basically the equivalent of the conditional tense." Then it clicked. But had I not known Spanish, I wouldn't have known what a conditional tense even is.

I really like how realistic & honest you are on the topic Great vibes :) Anna, Is it really essential that we go through a course of TEFL to understand teaching English? What if you have a subject degree,some teaching experience & a wholesome online research randomly from different KZread & other google resources, as the basic important topics are already highlighted on all such courses to follow. Do you feel like you have to be a 'natural teacher' and good with kids, or is the course structured in a way that most people could do it as long as the commit to the content?

@@joshintheuk13 I think there is an element of needing to be patient or you will get very frustrated, but you don't always have to teach kids. I teach mostly adults online :)

Hi there, I watched your video, it was excellent. I started the same course a month sgo. I have completed the grammer module. I am now attempting the methodology Unit 2,1st assignment (create a lPPP lesson plan for elementary students to teach present continuous). Hey :) yes, I teach fully online now. I have a new video from last week, check it out. And there's no exams, just assignments that get marked by a tutor. All the best :)

She is correct lol Doing it now. Grammar fried my brain, as did learning all the technical technical language.

@@pandabossanna TKT or Teaching Knowledge Test is a certification from Cambridge University that proves your knowledge about teaching methodology. It's the first certificate which Cambridge provides you in order to become in English teacher. It's the initial step. The difference with TEFL is that TKT is not a course, is just a test, you pass it and got it. So I don't know which one should I take first, I don't know which one is more universal. :(

It seems like there is significant overlap between the material in the 120 hour course and what I took for my BA in English. Is anyone aware of a "piggyback program" that might allow me to maybe bypass the lion's share of the material?

I'm not aware of anything personally, but I think you will be able to skip through a lot - the 120 hours for me took a lot less because I just clicked through a lot of the material that I already knew about. You'll have to do the assignments but everything else is sort of "watch in your own time"

Are you teaching now? I am not a native English speaker, but I've been living in the UK for a while. They have great Black Friday offers on their website at the moment, so I think I might give it a shot. They have listed a few agencies, which do not require you to be a native to teach. Moreover, the price for the 120-hour Premier Course is now 120 euros, with the 40-hour teaching English online one being just 67 euros.

Yeah a non-native speaker can get the certificate, I think some agencies for teaching English will want native speakers only though

The second one is driving me crazy.

You keep talking about it as a side hustle, but it is possible to do as a main job, right? It just worried me a little is all, i’m wanting to do this as my main job

WOW!!! 2yrs ago this program was fairly cheap. They now charge $1,500 (USD) with some discounts offered to drop the price from $100 - $300. Oops I was thinking of International TEFL Academy

Hi Anna, are you familiar with World Tesol Academy? they offer a 120 hrs course and being on offer it's quite cheap. They are accredited by ACREDITAT. What do you think? Thanks for your videos..

I just looked at The Tefl Academy. They require you to attend face to face class in california and massachussets for 20 hours or they will not give you your certificate.

Hello miss. Congrats for completing the TEFL. Sorry for the stupid comment. Do you have a bachelor degree ? In many countries- almost all- they requiere a bachelor degree and a TEFL in order to be able teach, especially abroad.

Most of the desirable countries will require a bachelors. But you still have options without one.

It's mostly multiple choice, with quite a few written assessments which have to get marked by a tutor
