It's a TV that I've had sitting around for a couple years now. Finally getting around to making a video about it. Let's see what's up.

12:01 If you're worried, you could get those blue thick thermal pads and cut one large one that covers everything, trust me it helps ALOT.

Not too worried about it, but I am interested in the pads you're talking about. Would you happen to have a link?

@@ThatElectronicsFool Can't link anything in youtube, they will delete the comment. Just search thermal pads, get the cheapest and 4-5mm thick will do fine even though the thermal rating is low. You don't need super efficient expensive ones for this. For packet ICs that do not have a heatsink in the first place, anything that's touching it will help.

Yes, I tend to forget posting links on here kinda sucks. I had previously looked into thick thermal pads on places like DigiKey, but they were really pricey. That was at least a couple years ago though. Haven't looked elsewhere lately to see if there's less costly stuff.

Glad you got that sorted, i dont like toasty regulators & would be tempted to leave the mod & do the same with the other reg.

I thought about fabricating a small heatsink out of a piece of copper that I could solder to the tab side of the regulators, to help with heat dissipation, but only if it was running too hot to touch for an extended period of time.

Just glad the original regulator didn't blaze up. Would've made it hard to read the numbers on it.
