Yeah even adult also can ask for it and farmer give it to them .

I used to eat it, they were growing wild everywhere then where i lived. Now i can barely see them as my small town has grown itself. Crazy how time flies

i eat sugarcane like this every year on Devuthni Ekadash(gyaras)..........it's a very traditional festival..... we first do the parikrama( barefoot walk of town or city spiritual sites) and then eat it at my birthplace Vrindavan(Uttar Pradesh, India)

I prefer to crush the entire cane stalk and save the juice in gallon jugs. Chill overnight in the refrigerator. Drink 1 cup in the morning for a quick energy booster. Great alternative to coffee.
